Thank you I learned a lot. Did you align your telescope some how so it tracks the sun?

I clicked the link for the printable sun finder. I was hoping for a place to buy it.

Do you think that there might be a chance for you to show and explain to us the current equipment that you are now using to take pictures of the night sky? The equipment that you have in that observatory is a lot more that just the Celestron 8se. Actually it looks a lot different and quite a modified setup from your previous videos. I would like to start my telescope purchase with something similar instead of starting off purchasing items that I will eventually replace anyways to get to where you are now. A video like that would be greatly appreciated!!!

I follow you and enjoy your videos. You've helped me and my wife out using the Nexstar 6SE I bought her for Christmas. We want to try using it for the solar eclipse and to view the sun sometimes, in addition to stars and planets. So, I would like to find a cheap solar finder like you have. I searched online and couldn't find one, so I wonder if you would give me some info on yours. My son-in-law would be able to 3d print it if you have the plan. Thanks for any help.

I am totally new to all of this and have the Celestron 8 SE. I am contemplating purchasing a Canon EOS 6D Mark II DSLR Camera. Do you remove the lens to attach the camera to the telescope using the adapter? My small mind is curious how decent images can be achieved by removing the lens from both the camera and the telescope. Please keep in mind I am 100% new to this. Thank you and I appreciate your videos. -Mike

How did you orient it when you printed the finder?

Really enjoy your videos, I got a Celestron 8SE earlier this year. Just a quick newbie question is it OK to use any of your eyepieces or stick to the lower ones for the sun?

As long as the solar filter is on, you should be able to use any of the eye pieces. I myself haven't noticed an issue switching between them.

Thanks for the reply. I'll be getting a solar filter in the not too distant future.

I just looked in to that solar setup because I DID want to see those waves and burst on the sun. Now I learned the special H Alpha front lens is so expense and difficult to make, they don’t make them for 8” telescopes. I’m guessing that solar lens protector blocks the H Alpha light so I couldn’t combine the standard solar lens protector with an H Alpha eyepiece.

I'd test it out for you, but I don't have an H Alpha filter 🙂

Why can't you just use the celestron software to find the sun?

Because not everyone owns the fancy kind of telescope that has that

I have a nexstar 130slt. It is giving me trouble when trying to locate the sun, ie the alignment. How do I align it?
