I love how you referenced Rusty. He’s an awesome trainer who doesn’t get talked about much anymore, but had some great ideas in regards to physique and fat loss.
This is so AWESOME!!!!! I was just thinking of what I’m going to do for the next 8-12 weeks or was considering revisiting the original 10,000 swing challenge. But this really excites me. I don’t have any barbells but I do have a couple of heavy sandbags and heavy kettlebells. I’m going to give this a whole-hearted go and see what happens. Thank you so much, Coach John!
Hey Dan, is it possible to stay with the same weight. Don't have a enough plates to do different days. Would stay with the same weight as long as it feels super easy.
Hey dan, am I misinterpreting something in the warm up? You say “24 squats, 3 times”, but the warm up is snatch grip RDL, snatch, OH squat, back squat 3 x 8. Unless you mean the athlete should be catching the snatch in the OH squat, I am understanding the OH squat + back squat is 16 reps of squats 3 times, not 24. Thank you good sir!
@@DanJohnStrengthCoach that makes sense. Thank you for the prompt reply. Do you also catch your snatches and cleans in a squat during the main part of the workout? (Newbie with training olympic lifts thank you again coach)
Hey Dan, love the simplicity of.. two lifts, a carry and a walk (almost a movie title!) Can kettlebell swap the barbell for the oly lifts, ie. dbl kb snatch, dbl clean & jerk, without any detriment to the program?
Hi coach, thanks for this! Great to see you in this shape. You look actually younger then ever. Great. One question, due to the Pandemic I only can use fixed weights on the Barbell. So 40,60 and 80 Kg unfortunately nothing in between. There for I would Handel the Heavy Days to the Repations and the increase of the workload due the higher reps.
How long before someone takes this, adds complexity for no beneficial reason and then takes credit for its invention. Thankfully that didn’t happen with goblet squat or slosh pipe! Wait a minute....
Hi Dan, I noticed on Pat Flynn's channel as you expanded on the olympic lifting/fat loss program you are taking the 'met' supplements including metformin. Have you noticed any decrease in performance/strength using metformin as a couple of studies have found less mitochondrial growth in people exercising and taking metformin as compared to placebo. Obviously longevity wise it seems like a go to supp, but interested in your thoughts on performance and taking metformin. Thanks :)
