Martina I just got my first apartment and I'm starting my own miniature garden like yours ❤️ I've been watching you since I was like 13 and I'm almost 22 now
I definitely ghostwrite this but the only difference is that I was 14 and now I am 22. Time surely flies but I guess our love for this channel never dies 😂
To everyone who is insulting Simon in the comment section please remember he is struggling with his depression and anxiety right now and this toxicity towards him is only going to make it worse. Yes they are youtubers who did share their relationship and private lives with us but no one is entitled to this. Insisting they have to tell you because you paid for their memebership package or bought some merch is not emotionally healthy and is showing how little you actually care about them as people. Because at the end of the day they are still just two people who are going to have relationship struggles and this year in general has been a rough one for everyone. We are supposed to be building ladders not tearing someone else's apart.
I feel that if you expect someone to be responsible for your identity, either you have to spend time away from that someone or that someone actually goes and dumps your butt. not everyone is as lucky as simon, some seriously could get dumped because they don't have their own identity at all.
@@typsom, @Warbler36, @y yg, Angela J. is maybe posting under the wrong video. I think she is talking about the Simon video comments section. The video posted before this one.
Me: This clearly isn't Martina's kitchen, there's no tiny things Martina: Taking over my mom's kitchen, it's just missing some things Me: The tiny things :3 Martina: *Handfuls of tiny things* 😍
Martinas style of editing brings me so much joy. Literally I think she could be doing anything and the charm of her editing would excite me about the topic.
Martina!!! So great to see Martina’s Midnight Munchies back! It’s a delightful shot of serotonin into my day (especially you Martina-ifying” your Mum’s kitchen!)
The nostalgia of Martina's Midnight Munchies! What a bright spot in the world when 2020 is taking a literal dump on us. Bless you sweet nugget, Martina!
I imagine Martina sneakily leaving tiny fairy garden creatures and/or items in random places in every house she visits. Half a year later people living there go "Honey! Did you know there is a tiny, sparkly hedgehog with a teacup hiding behind the potted plant?!?". 😂
After the news of their split, this has me thinking Martina is living with her mom, and Simon and Fudgy are living in an apartment. I'm sad that things ended, but I'm glad that they ended in a more positive way. Best of luck in your futures!
LMAO I was dying at the covid wine tours cause I thought I was the only one who did that. Went for a lovely wine tour in the region of my local hiking trail... my patio... the kitchen... I DIDNT EVEN DRINK BEFORE THE PANDEMIC and now I'm my own goddamn sommelier (highly recommend Bread & Butter pinot noir wine. Not even a huge fan of red but you will love it I promise. Good price point too. Available at your local LCBO)
Ahaha I feel this SO MUCH! What better time to take a wine tour? Also, I work at a liquor store and Bread & Butter is understandably popular! I'd suggest Meiomi Pinot Noir too if you liked that one!
Ahaha same! I discovered a brand called boozey tea at traderjoes and I'm getting way more bottles of wine - before pandemic I was the queen of nursing one drink - now I'm having like 3 drinks week - I should probably cut back!
omg. if we get incredible content like this from our girl I dont need any explanation of "the situation" ever. these sort of Martina vids make me so happy I could cry. the humor, the fun, the editing, the sounds, the music, aahhhhhhh, please give us more of these i LOVE these at home cooking with a glass of wine vids!!!!!
OOOoH! I didn't know that :D I have a Tim Hortons video coming out soon with my BFF Jackie and we munch down on a bunch of the "top" Tim Horton donuts. It will be interesting to see if you have the same kind of donuts in Glasgow hmm😲
They've just opened a Tim Hortons in Milton Keynes... Will have to see if they have anything imported bc that would be awesome. Though imagine it still won't be exactly like THs when I was in Canada.
That got me too. Also, the discount bananas would be normal price on the regular shelf here in the states. Discount fruit? Never have I ever seen that!
I finally tried this crepe recipe. Turned out fantastic. Used hamburger, onion, mushrooms, spinach, and feta cheese for the filling. Even my girlfriend was impressed. Thanks so much for sharing. Oh n celery
This is my Favorite content from you. You said in another comment that you feel like a basic home cook, but its so fun and your personality makes it shine. Also the basic home cooking is more practicable for a lot of us, especially in these COVID times. We're not all savvy at feeding ourselves lol
On days when I feel like crying from my own joint issues, I watch Martina for some ladder building inspiration. Thanks for the decade of love and ladder building, Martina and Simon!
Seeing your smiley face in the thumbnail made me so happy. You could just post your Midnight Munchies for every video and I'd be as happy as a pig in shit ❤️
Martina you made so many of us nasties happy with this!! I love seeing your cooking videos, it’s like I’m cooking with an amazing friend I’ve known for years 😭
Well thank you for such a lovely comment :) Frankly, I 100000% appreciate you liking my wacky cooking style of: oh shit this did not work...this thing is stuck....I need more wine....10 minutes later....this crepe folded in half son OF A----
@@eatyourkimchi It’s reality though! And it’s more fun than “look at my perfect dish and spotless kitchen that totally won’t happen when you try to make this”
@@eatyourkimchi Of course!! We love it so much because most of us have the same cooking experiences as you, especially with things not working out constantly, I have much the same problem, especially with trying to vegan-ise recipes! 😂😂 Sending you so much love girl!! 💖💖
I’d love to see a video where Martina details all the jobs she had- we got to see her through her teaching job but the bread packing and deli job we’ve never heard about before! She has such an interesting perspective on life so it would be super fun to hear about all her work stories 😁
I just used this recipe to make breakfast for my under-the-weather husband. Never done it before, and I am so pleased with the ease of it! So tasty!! Looking forward to having these crepes in the future.
Martina! It's good to see you! You probably don't remember this, but when you guys had the grand opening for the coffee shop I was able to talk to you and Simon for a bit. We have a mutual friend, Brendon (from Bucheon), and he was there with me. I gave you a Sailor Moon canvas pouch that I made. Do you remember? I think of it sometimes and hoped that if you did hold on to that it would bring you some happiness. :) I hope it did. Anyway, I also hope you are enjoying life back in Canada, despite all the craziness of COVID. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos!
This video is the one that I keep revisiting. It's fun and heartwarming and relatable and relaxing. I'm having a hard time being trapped in one place with people I am not particularly fond of due to covid lockdown. The video helps me destress a lot. Thanks Martina
I am TOTALLY IN for a video of Martina just talking about her previous jobs. Like, how you came about to the job, your thoughts of it, if you learned anything. It would give such good ideas on the job market - what's out there and that you don't need to stick to one thing.
@@eatyourkimchi Maybe she was so busy she was getting her orders mixed up or it was like her 2nd day on the job or something. But yeah the cheeses and ham were unacceptably thick.
Ahahahahahaha yes! Why did it take so long for "Coldemort" to be a thing? Officially what I am calling it from now on. XD Had to edit for: ABSOLUTELY NOT! Cake is far superior to pie. *nods knowingly*
I love crepes! I love just opening the fridge and seeing what flavour profiles I can come up with. I've never done the cinnamon sugar and lemon. that sounds delish. I recommend browning the butter for the crepe batter. It adds a really nice nutty flavour.
The tiny thingsssss I love them so much. I don't know why, but even just seeing you roam a grocery store and review ham (3/10 not shaved) brightens my day. Thanks for the lovely video!
Ive fallen back to the first step of my ladder as of recent but seeing this video show up in my feed gave me the boost of happiness to start climbing again ❤ thank you Martina for your contagious happiness and courage
@@allkindsofstaci thank you so much. I got knocked down a few more pegs but im not gonna stop trying to climb. Your comment really made me smile, so thank you 🥺
It was a legit struggle but when it came out it seemed SOOooOOooOO easy on camera meanwhile, it was like: AGHHH HHHHHGGGG GRRUUUNNNNTTTT *delicate pop*
@@eatyourkimchi oh, girrrrl, for me that turns into a struggle with me swearing a lot. “Son of a *beep*, you *beep*, *beep* you, I swear I’m fixing to yeet you into the *beep*ing sun!” And the thing laughs at me as it tells me to have a seat on the strugglebus.
@@eatyourkimchi It's relatable. Is great to see someone else have the same kind of everyday dumb problems I do. So, sure, I laughed my butt off at that too, but it came from a place of love.
Poutine!! This American is poutine-curious. Also! I'm a bit of a hobby baker and can offer a couple of tips. Your mom's flour jar is too small for a meaauring cup, but that's ok because it's recommended to spoon flour into the measuring cup and then sweeping the stop with a flat edge. This is so the flour does not become packed in/compacted and you wind up with too much flour in your recipe. Also it's recommended to use a separate measuring cup specifically designed for liquid measuring, because dry measure and liquid measure are different in some bizarre way that I don't understand. I use pyrex measuring cups for liquid. Hope that's helpful and not obnoxious lol. Love seeing you filming again! And I love that you have facilitated learning about 3 different cultures/countries over the years. Hang in there. I have chronic illness too so I won't tell you to feel better. Hang in there and manage your spoons.
Martina, you look great! I love the hair! ❤️ We all know that it takes a great effort for you to film and edit the videos. Thank you for powering through your physical and emotional pain to make this video happen....and to make your viewers smile 😊😊😊
People who are looking for a gluten free option ; if you like the taste of it, there are buckweat flour crêpes recipes. French savory crêpes are usually made with buckweat flour, and it tastes delicious. I even use these for my desserts ; buckweat crêpe + chocolate & ice cream or honey & lemon is a must try imo!
So glad to see you looking so good! I was just missing your food videos and preparing to rewatch! Sending you lots of love and good vibes! Thank you for being an inspiration on staying positive with chronic illnesses! I needed this today. Also yay someone else who loves good eats! :)
dearest Martina, the content you create makes me so genuinely happy! i hope that the joy you bring to your viewers comes back to you, but million times bigger. take care! loooots of love! ❤️
I’m so happy to have midnight munchies back! It is what inspired me to start cooking and truely is a therapy for me. These are my daily build a ladders! Thank you Martina!
Loved this video! Can’t wait to see more, Martina! I have EDS, too, and appreciate you showing some of the struggles in your video as well. It makes me feel like I’m not alone.
They haven't worn their rings since the moving back to Canada video... I really hope things are ok. And its not our business but I just hope you guys are happy and healthy, I love seeing Martina content and watching her decorate ❤
yeah, I was wondering about that too. Like, it seems like Martina's living with her mom and Simon's living on his own. I hope that they address this sometime. I feel like it was really teased in the last Simon video. Hope they're alright, even if they're not together. I think it's really hard to work with your SO/spouse/partner on ANYTHING for a prolonged period of time, so maybe youtube took a toll on them. Knew another couple who did youtube together for a really long time, and they both recently split because of it. I just hope they're okay, however they're choosing to live their lives now
It may be that they both agreed to time apart for any number of reasons, and want to *choose* to be together vs feeling obligated -- the way they've talked in podcast would lead me to think it's a possibility (including their therapy). This may just be am experiment and they cannot know the outcome. It's probably an unselfish move on the part of their relationship -- in other words, in a good way, perhaps for mental health reasons, Simon is currently only obligated to himself (same for Martina). It can look like a publicity stunt, but it's likely a lot more than that.
Martinaaaaaaaa ☺️ Lol yes, as someone who lives in a northern border state, whenever I see packaging with English and French I’m like “iT’s CaNaDiAn!!!”
Seeing that crepes are calles "palačinke" in Croatian makes me so happy. We call them "Palatschinken" in Austria, whereas the German call them "Pfannkuchen" (literally "pan cakes"). I love detecting similarities between different languages! 😍
So happy to see you’re feeling up to treating us with your lovely cooking videos! Sending you lots of love, and then some extra good vibes on the side cuz it’s 2020 and we all need those! ❤️
I loved the beginning where you slowly take over the kitchen with cute trinkets. I just moved in with my father to help him out and I feel like I've been doing the same. Slowly taking over and adding cuteness everywhere. 😂
I was having a really bad day not able to walk without severe pain. But I got ap and made these yesterday to put another step on my ladder and they turned my day around. I stopped self pity crying and was actually happy for the first time in days. Thank you so much for this video. You always help me through the darkest days xxxxx
Crepes are my favorite! I make them when I'm particularly stressed or feel like I haven't spent any time for myself. In school I'd make tons of them during finals week and give them to my friends 🥰
I was having a discussion about the word gallette recently with my hsuband! Here on Quebec we almost always use the word to describe harder flat round cookies! I had no idea it referred to buckwheat crepes in France. I have no idea why we changed the meaning in Quebec 🙃 I agree though, they're delicious!
I've missed midnight munchies so much! This series always makes me smile and I usually give the recipe a go. Cooking shows where everything is perfect makes me feel inept. I havent had crepes in a long time, I will try making some soon. It's nice to see you again, Martina!🥰
Same! I don't any more, but I worked in a deli for yeeaarrss. Where I worked, when someone asked for shaved, we'd ask 'thin, falling apart, or sawdust?' and then we'd pray they didn't say sawdust. :)
Anyone that know simplynailogical and think that Martina and Cristine should make a colab (obs safe one) like this comment!!! Edit: please like this so martina can see. Thank you so much. I know youtubers collabing in this situation is not right but anything could happen as long as long as we keep safe. I can just dream.
I've always enjoyed Martina's cooking videos. For me, she managed to make it look more accessible, so now I have more 'confidence' to try it out. So this is what I'm making this weekend, wish me luck LOL. I also was very amused with the combo of cinnamon sugar and lemon juice. Wow, that's different.
You absolutely do not. I was NOT gifted with the Europen language tongue. Somehow I'm better at Asian pronunciations but Europe just cringes when they hear my rubbish "R" sounds. I CANNOT roll anything 😒😂
@@eatyourkimchi I mean, I'm polish and I only know some french and a bit more japanese, however in this vidio you mentioned how french is official language of Canada next to english, and I myself realiesed how litlle we know about this side of Canada, you and your culture, wich seems as exotic, as korean when I started to watch your videos 😁 Show us more!
@@eatyourkimchi aaaw come on, don’t be so hard on yourself, your french from what i heard is not that bad😊 Also pls come visit Montreal! We have a greater food scene now ( Toronto is still number one though)
Hah, my mom is russian and there this dish calling as blinys. And yes they must be so thin. This is still one of my favorite dishes that make my mom, it can be with anything you want but those recepies that shows Martina is the best. My mother told me that my grandmother made pancakes on the stove, on live fire. They were so thin and delicate that they shone through. The pan was greased with oil, and when the pancake was removed from the pan and ironed on a plate they again generously oiled with butter. For me, the best performance of pancakes is with homemade chocolate (from sour cream, cocoa, sugar, a little butter and banana, diced, cooked in a steam bath). Usually the whole family gathers around and eats them hot. It turns out a conveyor where the one who cooks usually stays the most hungry)) Thank you Martina for this wideo and for Martina's Midnight Munchies! Now I know what I will ask my mom to cook soon! Because mom's bliny are the best that the world has created))
Struggled a bit with my mental health but this video is exactly what I needed to feel a bit happier and better, thank you for all of your hard work making content for us Martina!
@@lauralanthalasa7 I mean I wouldn't say poor Simon, he seems pretty awful. Like, he always made everything about himself, was constantly doing the like martyr thing to get people to feel sympathy for him with being a caregiver, he seemed to isolate her more from like friends and doing things, and was just overall a very pretentious, annoying dweeb. I feel like this break was him going through some mid life crisis more than anything.
@@lauralanthalasa7 I've watched them for the same amount of time, and it doesn't really matter if you disagree or not. lmao Simon progressively shown he's toxic.
Sometimes I forget that Martina is multilingual! Threw me off with the several consecutive languages during her tasting commentary. So pleasant to hear
I LOVE crepes but s*ck at making them. I'm definitely going to try them your way. Love your videos, they make me happy. I understand you are doing your best to put these videos out here for us. It is greatly appreciated. I know things are absolute sh*t right now and posting may not always be what you want to do. It does sadden me to see you and Simon posting separate videos but putting yourselves out their regardless is appreciated and I still love you both. You guys are like long distant friends to me (which is probably creepy but true) and I only wish the best for you both.
This was so sweet and fun!! What an easy way to make crepes!! (I haven’t tried them yet, but boy am I inspired!!) It was so nice to see I’m not the only one that stands in front of the pie displays, because yes, pie>cake!
Hey everyone, so I tried to make a vegan version with vegan butter, soy milk and egg substitute. It needed a little bit more milk to make a batter more runny but otherwise it works great! 🥞
This video makes me so happy! I've followed you on adventures in Korea and Japan and now I'm really enjoying discovering Canada through your videos. Love the cooking video, so cozy!
