That is a great beginner plane. Hitec originally made one many years ago, called the Easy Star. Exact same design, but a much larger scale version of this one. Then they made the Easy Star 2, which I think is still available for purchase, though it costs a lot more than the Sky King. What a great price as well, for an RTF. I highly recommend anyone wanting to get into RC Planes, to get one of these. I started with a GWS Slow Stick in 2003. Hitec had not come out with the Easy Star at that time. I wish they had. I can't tell you how many times I crashed and repaired that Slow Stick. I'm sure that one is made out of either EPP or EPO foam, which is very durable. Especially EPP, as it's very "Bouncy".
I have the older version called the dromeda skycruiser 2 and this thing is awesome . This needs to be re reviewed . A lot of new people would love its resilience .and it’s easy to start for fpv
Hey Cap. That was really cool. I to am a drone man but I will definitely look at getting one of these. Use to actually fly many years ago so this would be a ton of fun. Cheers. Stay safe.😷🤘
Nice change way to get out and enjoy almost spring in Canada, lol. I just acquired the Horizon Hobby Aeroscout and moving briskly into RC flying. Seems like a fun little trainer pusher plane. If it had a prop in front I think it would get dinged a little more. Nice change to your lineup.
The second flight there was a plane flying and the sound was pretty cool with this drone lol!! Remind me of airplane the movie. A jet liner with prop sounds lol!!
Have the Evo, but that looks like a lot of fun to fly and at a price that won't break the wallet. The controller reminds me of the cheap SYMA drone I owned. Joysticks don't bounce back. As far as the controls using left stick. As you mentioned. It's totally different when flying an aircraft. Reminds me of when I had my first helicopter RC. You are excellent at flying all the different types of RC's because if I had to go back and forth between them, and trying to remember which controller does what. I will probable crash one. BTW nice Auto Couch you have Capt.
This is the stabilised version of the Sky King, the F959 'S' (not F9595) ;-) Been flying it's non stabilised counterpart (the F959) for years and it has been so much fun. Always fly it with a small camera on board like the SQ11, 808 #16 or the Mobius Mini; a Mobius camera seems a bit too heavy for this kinda plane and you probably will have to have it a full power all the time to keep it in the air, which isn't very good for the simple brushed motor.
I was originally going to put some wingtip floats on this so it callus land in the water but because it’s so light and slow and the propellers in the back i could probably walk up to the edge of the beach cut the throttle and catch it
I love drones, planes, helicopters, boats, cars, subs technically everything that flies or moves or dives. The skyking remote reminds me of my 3 channel helicopter i owned, same concept left stick is throttle only and right stick is movement left right forward backwards. Although for the plane i presume its elevator up or down. The helicopter was an ok kind of toy but I did not enjoy it all that much. Flight time was only 7 mins. The glider/planes looks like fun though.
i can imagine getting one of these and few spare batteries... you could have fun for hours...just bring it up in the air high enough so you can turn of the prop and glide down...if youre good...like at least 5-10 minutes... would be a blast
Regarding the camera, do you prefer the mobius over the firefly - why? Have you done reviews yet on the different RC portable cameras out there? Can't always strap on a Go-Pro on ultra lightweights Got to get me one of these planes, compelling review.
I do like the MOBIUS MINI (1080p 60FPS) over the FIREFLY due to the form factor. However I am on my second MOBIUS MINI and I will say the camera is not 100% reliable for recording.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 got an URL for you. staaker.com/ did not know it either. But found it on a kiteboardfb group in the Netherlands. Maybe competition for skydio. Worth checking out I guess.
Thank You Captain Drone for another entertaining video! Truly Looks like you had a whole lotta fun! Just wondering how much does it weigh without the camera you attached and with the camera?
i recently purchased an Akaso EK7000 Pro action camera and wondering what mission I could use it for....now I know! If anyone is interested, Amazon has this plane and similar ones to it. (didn't want to leave a long link here; I found it easily by searching for "Sky-King 3CH RC Airplane" Model is 'F959'. Thanks much CD for the video!
Question. Kind of off the subject. I just recently purchased a iPad mini 5 for my drones and wondering if I am not going to use it for a couple of weeks. Should I power it off or just let it go into sleep mode ?
It all depends on you. Sleep mode just causing the iPad to drain less battery power over a long time while not in use, but it will eventually drain the battery to empty. Turning off is what you do when you won't be using the iPad for sometime & want to power it back on at some point with it still having power.
Any age that is responsible I would say. In other words, someone who would fly this away from people and cars... so maybe the age of being able to stay home by themselves.
Thanks Captain. Hope you are doing well over there. Website won't even let me register. Keeps saying enter a valid e mail address when I try. Gave up in the end.
You'd have to position the battery back more towards the wings and probably remove some foam. It would add weight so you would not get much fun flying. 800 mah would be the max I would consider.

Hey Steve great video! I have been looking for something like this for years. About 15or so years ago I had an air hog that was a little cruder than this for my son and we had fun this is more like what I have wanted I almost bought a parrot disco(I think that was the name but it was a bit pricey) but this looks like it’s more what I wanted. I notice you always say the info will be at the bottom of the video but I never see it just the rating system. Is it because I have an iPad or what’s the secret. Will I be able to buy this right now if it’s from China?
The info is BELOW the video in the Video Description. Every video on RU-vid has a spot Below the video that is playing where the creater of the video will write very important information... You'd be amazed what you have been missing from watching videos on RU-vid. Depending on what you are watching the video on, there may be a little triangle that you have to click on to see the full information.
Wow that rocks! I just clicked on the little triangle and it all dropped down. Been watching you tube for many years and just thought I must be watching on the wrong o/s or something cuz I could never see the info people were talking about. Many thanks!!!
every site i visited for this product says order camera separately and when i click the link to it comes up site not found and this has been going on for 4 yrs now and i have already pressed legal actions on one site 2 times now with the Better Business Bureau and they have lost customers.....so just a fair warning to watch out on it
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Hi!!! You inspired me to get my first drone! Would you be able to get a new code for the MJX Bugs 4w 4k drone? I really want to get it but I need with two batteries and under $200

Amazon. Batteries are not made for a product, they are all off the shelf, so just look for a battery with the same connector, same voltage and similar size.
PS Cap, i looked this drone up and it seems to be the F959S not the F9595 just wanted to pass on the info. i liked it sooo much i have been trying to find one that i dont have to wait months before i get it.lol
CAPTAIN DRONE oh no I just ordered it and it said it had the gyroscope and stabilizers crap... I didn’t know there were two. I tried to put in f9595 and it said and sent me to f959S I thought maybe you read it wrong cuz it looked like 9595 now I’m worried.😟😟😟
