These are polystyrene buds you can buy so most baking shops, they are great cos they are lightless, but if you don't want to use them, you can simply do a tear shape with gumpaste and let it dry. Works just as good.. a bit harder for the first set of petals to stick to the gumpaste than with the polystyrene but aside from that and the weight, it's very similar.. 🙂

Thanks! I'm not sure, I haven't done this rose in a long time. From memory is I'd say 3 to cover bud, then 3/4/5 petals for each following row I think.. Sorry for not being a better help.. 😔 For the bud I think I was about medium size, if say something like 4 cm in height. You should check out the latest I made which is an easier technique and more detailed, and you could do the coloring from this video. Let me find you a link..
