EASY Walkthrough Guide to replace Ford Mondeo rear brake light or reverse tail light bulb 

It's a shame there are negative comments - I just went to do my break bulb, figured out how to access the unit but just thought I'd double check - went to my Haynes Manual first ( not as easy as it should be ) gave up and came to the net. withing 15 secs had my thoughts confirmed. I can figure which bulb is which once I get teh unit out - why so much negative comment re spinning cameras? I found this really useful and to the point. Thanks for posting.

This was incorrect for my 2008 Mk4 Ford Mondeo brake light, so for me the diagram at 50s was not right. The Brake light is not one of the 3 bulbs in the boot lid cluster. The brake bulb is actually on the outer body on the same mount as the orange indicator light. its a little more fiddly but still quite straighforward.

It should be stressed that this video applies to the rare SALOON version of the Mondeo Mk 4 and NOT to the HATCHBACK. On the hatchback the rear brake light is not in the tailgate but in the wing. Access is through the flap in the luggage-space side lining behind the light. It is a bit of a reach upwards through the opening to locate the bulb holder. There is a single plastic lever low down on the holder which must be pushed upward while pulling the holder up and out. The clear bulb is the brake bulb; the coloured one is for the turn indicator.

Rear fog light is the inner red compartment, reverse above. Stop/tail etc is outer unit.

Brilliant easy design unlike some motors where its a two hour garage job

Good video but note there are no brake lights in that cluster, the brake lights are in the wings not the tailgate.

Further to my comment below, it should be noted that Mondeo Mk 4s from 2011 onwards have LED brake lights which may need to be dealt with by a dealer.

i know you point out later, this is not an estate but at the start that would of helped people like me. wrong brake light bulb is not, in that cluster, it is in the outer light cluster on estates, and i still cannot get at it !!!

I would add. Wear gloves. Iv had bulbs brake in my fingers as i pushed an turned to remove them

This is a terrible guide because the format is Tiny on a mobile because of the way it has been shot, and his fingers are in the way when he's trying to describe where things are, and it is unclear which the brake light is because I think the brake light is on the outside cluster not this cluster, unless both my inside cluster brake lights are already broken. There's just not enough detail here

Please re-shoot in landscape immediately! - Only kidding, but really it would have been a far easier watch if this hadn't been in portrait!

I convinced myself that I had a different Mondeo until I realised I should be looking for the cluster in the boot lid and not the lower bodywork.
