How to make your own large, sturdy portrait frame. This is a different way to make frames that doesn't require special woodworking equipment. These were used for stadium posters from my kids' colleges. I've also used this technique for art on canvas. It's a unique take on building frames for any wall hanging.
Materials used were molding (I used chair railing), luan (thin plywood), wood glue, clamps and stain or paint of your choice. I should also mention that it's super important to clamp and let dry on a flat surface! If you have any questions be sure to ask in the comments.
