Here in Texas everyone I work with calls it "fleck", as in: "we still need to let the mud fleck up for a few minutes, that's why we're still on our smoke break"

You can also turn it inside out if you need it to be completely clean.

Ha nice. I had an electrician who had a cut half of rubber basketball and used mortar in that. He used it to mortar the opening in the wall where the main was coming in. Thought it was strange but easy clean up.

Nice! I saw Maxkil from Australia used one a few years ago, he uses it for drywall mud. But I could not find it anywhere to buy! Makes a lot o sense. But I like mixing the 3 gal buckets at a time, hoping they'll make one for that. I'd think it'd be super convenient for these hi end condos that cannot have Any dust or washing in the units, and nowhere to wash outside...

Looks like a cool product, they should sell it next to the mortar mixes. As a DIYer I was confused what to do with the leftover thinset in the bucket. Tried cleaning it out the next day but it was too much of a pain, and the buckets are cheap, so...more buckets!

I think this will help the buckets last longer too, I find the bucket bottoms break out pretty quickly if your mixing a lot, I'm going to have to get a couple.

Just a tip added a year later. Try not to break the surface as much as he mdoes where you can see that you're introducing air into the thinset mix. Just come up to just below the surface when mixing if you see an air channel you came too far.

Neat product. Reduce dust inhalation and mess... tear bag top off, fully submerge open end into water while emptying bag.

After I measure the water in my bucket then pour the powder in I spray a little water on top to keep the dust down works good

Easy way to clean your bucket. When you're done fill it up with water use the mixer to mix it all up and then get a old shirt or rag to throw in with the mixer and let it wrap up on it and get the walls a little better. Pour it out and you're good to go

Genius. Worst part of my day when tiling is cleaning up. Seriously. I absolutely f’n HATE it! 😂 It’d be really nice to cut out the bucket cleaning at the end of a long day when my muscles and bones ache and only have the tools to clean up.

Its $120 + shipping , did I understood this correctly ? Thats a lot for rubber bucket insert 😬 I tried to use rubi rubber bucket before, didn’t work very well , over time, mortar would stick to the sides and would not come off

Math checks out, but it might not be obvious to all viewers why we divided by 4. We were aiming for 5 quarts. 5 / 20 is 0.25 so you want to multiple the height of the bucket by 14.5, 14.5 x 0.25 = 3.625. Or you could divide by 4 to get the same answer instead of multiplying by 0.25 since 1/4 is the reciprocal of 4/1.

Master tile setter here , you should be using a spiral paddle to mix thinset as opposed to the egg beater style .

I just spent several minutes searching for this online, with no luck. There doesn't seem to be a website, and I have yet to find a supplier that sells it.

$120 plus shipping? Seems like a lot, but if you’re a 100% tile guy, I would agree it’s totally worth it.

There was more cushion for the pushing, felt really nice along the edges.

When I want to clean the bucket and the mixer I put in some rounded pebbles and water in the bucket and start mixing. (Not sharp pebbles. That would definitely destroy the bucket. But it would definitely clean the mixer.)

I was just looking at these online (not this exact brand) and read reviews that Schluter All Set sticks to these and is really hard to remove compared to other thinsets. Unfortunately it’s currently what I’m using. I wonder why?

About a year into using mine. It's pretty durable. DO NOT mix self leveler in one. And steer clear of Laticrete 254 Platinum. Stickiest stuff I've ever used and had to soak the mixer in muriatic acid overnight to ALMOST get it all off. If you're using 254, just resign yourself to waste a bucket a day

Why would you even need a bucket when you have that? To rubber things of those and a few gallons of water and you're straight. You can probably use them without the bucket.

What is the most financially friendly way to make a shower without loosing quality, at least for the pan, "waterproofing", etc? Can you make an amazon page with the tools you use or rec where to get them.

I'm tiling 12 x 24 porcelain over reinforced concrete slab. I have about 1000 sq.ft. to cover so I want to get something cheap but still quality. I've narrowed it down to Laticrete LHT and Mapei Keraflex SG. Which would you recommend, or is there a better option? Thanks.

I think that we get the point once mixing starts. The mixing paddle turns around and around. I checked the price of this on Amazon - BucketSaver - 5 Gallon Reusable Rubber Bucket Liner - Bucket Liner for thinset and Concrete Mix - $89! No thanks. I’ll use the bucket straight up.

Call me crazy but I just go to new home construction sites and get the used paint buckets and clean them out. Free buckets and they are sturdy.

Hi that's awesome! Question I have a 50s bathroom in a building, I took off the tiles in my bathroom and found that it. has a wire mesh plaster wall with mud on top. I do not want to remove all of this material. what is the best product to use to retile in this situation? The wall is in great shape.I want to make sure it sticks, someone suggested I just use ceramic tile glue but is it better to use thin set mortar? Thank you!
