I'm ABC who speaks Cantonese. We often order this soup at a restaurant. I don't read Chinese. However, the first 2 characters I do know. This was how I figured out this was the recipe I was searching for! Thank you!
Amazing. I tried making this soup and for someone who doesn't know how to cook I am impressed with myself that I made this. It tastes so good and so easy to make for a guy like me.
tried this with ground pork, then added noodles like i used to order on the side at the restaurant = tastes like pork dumpling soup with West Lake flavor, win-win for me! And one less restaurant i need to visit during a pandemic
Every once in awhile you do recipes I haven't had in a while or even for years like this one & as soon as the video was finished I started craving it 🤣🤣🤣
I just bought some Montoy/ Malabar Spinach and made a beef soup similar to this. Yours is distinct and looks delicious. I have to finish the first batch then I can make yours!
I’ve never heard of this dish! And I consider myself a Chinese cuisine connaisseur! I have all these ingredients so I’m trying it this weekend! Thank you, Miss Ling!
This is my favorite soup so I researched how to make it and find your video easy to follow. Made it right away in less than 30 mins, all done! Added soft tofu too. It definitely tasted great! Guilt free meal since it is very light but filing especially if you’re trying to eat healthier options. Thank you so much!
They have this soup at the Jade Harbor restaurant in Chinatown in Philadelphia. I’m glad I found this easy recipe to avoid traveling down there. Thank you for this video. 😊
I found your video and love your soothing voice and easy to approach recipes. I’m now a subscriber. Thank you for sharing one of my favorite soups. 😁😁😁😁😁
Nothing better then soup in the fall of the year. This soup looks very delicious and looks so budget friendly and easy to prepare. Thank you for sharing this delightful looking recipe. Love Tamson from Ky. 😇💗

This looks fantastic, I wish I have seen this earlier, I had some ground beef but I made burgers with them. I will definitely try this since Winter is around the corner.
Hi Ling, I make soup every winter. My recipe is similar and was past down by my grandma. Mine calls for diced medium tofu. Can't wait to make it again. Thanks for sharing.
it is funny you say that you did not like cilantro ....i served this soup years ago at a dinner party to people who hated cilantro and they ate the whole bowl ......they loved this soup
With winter right around the corner, this will be perfect on those cold Colorado days. Ginger adds a nice flavor. How about slicing it very thin and leaving it in and eating, as is done with some stir fry dishes? Or would it possibly be too strong. Thank you.
I’m not a pro but does your son like celery? I’ve made this with chinese celery before but regular celery works too. If you use a different vegetable you may want to Blanche the veggies separately until tender/soft and add it at the end before you add the starch solution. Boiling it with the soup may overpower it. Lin probably knows best.
@@ChineseHealthyCook Please make something! In Chinese medicine it’s treated as a medicine. Its perfect Opportunity to introduce it in the times of winter and pandemia!
Poor lonely ginger, did it go to the trash or was eaten? If I was to make it I would finely shop the ginger. You should had use a cleaver to smash the ginger, feels like you barely made a dent to it.
