WOW, that’s a lot of work… I’ve thought about doing that some years ago with SQUADRON GREEN STUFF I’M, going to watch this again maybe a few times… Looking forward to seeing more, and how it comes out CHRIS from OHIO 🇺🇸

Thanks for watching Green stuff putty is easy to work with, I originally got it to make tarps. Hope my efforts help, the King Tiger is getting there, painting tools at the moment.

I did it the same way on a 1/16 Tiger 1 but I used Terracotta Milliput. I tried rolling the Milliput out with a skewer but didn't have much luck and found it easier to squash it into a thin layer with my thumb by just keep working it. I found that the Milliput stuck to the plastic better by lightly scuffing the smooth plastic with fine emery. Another thing that I found out was that it was extremely relaxing and I'd recommend to anyone to give it a try, take your time and it will be fine.👍

Cheers mate for feedback, agree milliput would be a good substitute for the putty

I use the yellow milliput and use a snapped off rounde4d tweezer to spread the zim and use a master tools zimmerit roller...they have 2 different gauges also you get a press tool of all sizes,2 rollers and 3 press tools for 12 quid...

@@russouk cheers, I try to do things if possible with stuff we already have etc so all can try. The video has provided a lot of feedback. I will probably get a tool for next time as it will probably be more accepted to the community. Hopefully I gave some people confidence to gave a go. Cheers for comment.

I used greenstuff but found the white/yellow milliput better and flattens better and plus...when 90% dry easy to pick bits where zim is damaged

Big applause for the effort, I think the fun has been taken out with all the glue on strips, PE sheets, and pre-molded on zimm. Next go 'round you might consider about half the thickness of this for 1/35 scale. You might consider running a piece of tape down the hull where the fender line is so you don't have to keep stopping and scraping away the excess. Just peel the tape off at the end and rough up the clean edge with your tool.

Thx, it’s probably caused the most amount of comments I have had on a video. Agree on thickness and hopefully it encourages others to have a go.

@@ctscalemodellinguk Absolutely, that's the goal. I just built up one of the new Takom Tiger 1's with molded on zimm and it felt like I was cheating. Also you can't easily do damage like chipped off sections.

One tip though I roll mine out as flat as I can then cut them into little strips. Then put them on the tank and using the cocktail sticks, this way you achieve a much thinner coating of zimmerit. Each to their own 😅

Hi, I guess if u keep the DAS dryish give it a go. I had green stuff as you can roll it really thin, was going to do a tarp in the future. Thx

I know you ain’t looking for constructive comments going by your responses but this is way too thick and out of scale for 1/35 zimm.
