Welcome back to another video. Yesterday I decided to fly to Alicante for the day. For people wondering, here is how I found the flight and some details about it!
I arrived at the airport at around 1am. Since Security was closed, it decided to have a little nap. Apart from kids being excited about flying, the nap was reasonable. At 2:45am, I finally went through Security. The process was quick and easy, however it was quite busy which is surprising. As soon as I went through the scanner, I saw that my flight was at Gate 570. Before I went to my gate, I decided to go up to the long footbridge where the plane’s taxi underneath and the view was insane! Unfortunately I didn’t add this to the video due to memory issues. After a 10 minute walk back to Gate 570, I decided to take a seat and have another nap. Before I knew it, we started to board the plane at around 5:10am. Speedy boarders were first (which made no difference at all). After another wait in the jet bridge, I finally boarded my flight. My seat for the flight was 9A. Luckily, I had a whole row to myself. One thing that interested me was that the cabin crew did headcounts. This was because there had to be an even amount of passengers sitting on either side of the aircraft due to the takeoff and landing weight. At 6:04am, we started pushing back onto the taxiway. We then taxied to Runway 26L. After holding for a few minutes, we took off Runway 26L and were well underway. After takeoff, we made a left turn over the A281 and climbed to 35,000 feet (FL350). Our routing to Alicante took us over Worthing, over the English Channel, staying to the West of Paris, over the top of Toulouse, turning left just to the South West of Toulouse before finally starting our descent 60 miles North of Valencia. During the climb to 35,000 feet, cabin crew came through with drinks and light refreshments. I ordered a can of coke (my normal and favourite order) and put it in my bag for when we get to Alicante. Once at cruising altitude (35,000 feet), I then went to sleep as I was quite tired due to the fact that I worked a late shift the day before, finished at 11pm and pretty much went back home and straight back out again. It was my first time going to sleep onboard an aircraft and it was quite nice. Because I went to sleep, unfortunately I didn’t film the sunrise however I was on the wrong side of the aircraft for that. I woke up 1 hour before we started our descent. We then started our decent 60 miles North of Valencia. It wasn’t too bumpy which was good. On final approach, we made a sharp left turn. After 2 hours and 13 minutes I’m the air, we was then cleared to land on Runway 10 at Alicante where we touch down 1 minute ahead of schedule. Overall, the flight was very nice, I was very comfortable and had a great day in Alicante.
