Hey Joshua, I came into see the review for Easyrig and Dzofilm Lens and just got sucked into watching the entire Ora King Documentary you've made. The documentary is amazing, not only the content and story telling element but the image and colour you produced is just WOW... I am so glad to find you :)
Thanks for sharing Joshua. I have the Vario 5 also. The tip with the frog adapter is pretty cool. I had a frog adapter from my old easyrig, but never used it on the vario 5 because I have the quick release ball adapter....I think I'll try the frog adapter again. Cheers for that
i can see a really great movement and sample clip there, just complimentary each movement to every cut, love ur review and it's so full detailed information there, best for easyrig explaination so far 🔥 I bought the Minimax Stabil Light for my Ursa G2 arrived today, can't wait to play with it !
So interesting, thank you for the video!! Hard to find a (good) in-depth explanation of how to setup and use the easyrig in different situations. Would you be willing to share what small bits and pieces you use accessory-wise to find optimal balance for the camera? :))
It wouldn't been better a long top handle with two ball stud, front and back , instead a weird Easylock + frog and double handle arranged like this? you would have a more hight range. in regards for Mini Max, I have it since one week the new Stabil Light, being ambassador, and is amazing. A step up then the older I owned. The new Rig is very compact and lightweight and I seem it support more weight advised it. I guess that with the tendency to build very small , light and compact cameras, the new Stabil Light will embrace an audience of many supporters. good shooting
Hi Andrea, thanks for taking the time to comment! The double handle works for me because you can slide the eye hooks left and right as well as forward and back on the camera to find the perfect balance depending on how the rig is built out. The camera is never perfectly weighted in the center. I haven’t been able to find a better solution for that, maybe you have one? The ball studs are also great, but I find they effect how smooth the camera can tilt. The camera tilts really smooth with these eye hooks and frog clamp.
Another great video Josh! That's a product that I've been putting off buying so many times because of the price. I once bought a cheap knock-off which ended up being a piece of crap and has just recently gone on to the hard rubbish collection pile. Is yours the Easyrig with the 130mm Extension or the standard one? Also, can it be easy packed into a suitcase for travel?
Hey Richard - This is our setup: Easyrig 5 Vario , Cinema Vest , 130mm Ext Arm w/ Quick Release + Queen Bag. The Queen Bag is great for travel but it is a softcase. To be honest the easy rig is pretty hardy so i'm not worried about checking that into luggage.
thanks for the vid. Im still amazed at so many people complaining about buying an easyrig setup and how it doesnt "stabilize".. I explain like, go hand held on a shot and imagine you have to hold that position for 9 minutes. if your arms and back get tired, thats what its for. period. just a 3rd strong helping hand. of course im only on a 6kpro with a disc cage and Vmount so I can get away with the minimax, but even that helps tremendously. especially when you have that random itch on your nose ha ha. happy shooting, have fun
No sorry. I have tried finding it on Amazon but we can only source it from our supplier in NZ. Not sure where they order it in from? www.tadpole.nz/easyrig-flowcine-cineamadevices-accessories#/frog-tail-frog-clip-attachment/
Hey, yes it’s definitely more comfortable because it has a much better vest. However it is double the price so I’m not sure it’s ‘twice as comfortable’
@@JoshuaKirkNZ good to know. What vest do you recommend for the vario 5? Also have you tried the Stabil arm? I just received a minimax with stabil arm and seems a bit awkward bobbing up and down. Thinking of going with a vario 5 instead without the stabil.
what is the base plate set up that you have for your ursa? I am looking at the same padded shoulder mount from Small rig, but not sure what other components I need to connect to the cam.
Hey Anthony this is the shoulder plate we use: www.smallrig.com/smallrig-vct-14-shoulder-plate-1954.html?revpage=2&setCurrencyId=19&gclid=Cj0KCQjwjvaYBhDlARIsAO8PkE39NmNcTg7pn-dAut7fyxxcBJiZj2rIzbykXWNtngRCZbz1N_u_R0UaAm6tEALw_wcB
Have pretty much the exact same setup. But with the 12K. I like to use the EVF a lot. Is it easy enough to have the camera float at shoulder height so one could use the BMD EVF?
