My favourite accidental comedian of all time! I just love that expression after the first swig of Moose Juice...where she exclaims 'oh' with a screwed up face, then promptly reaches for it after tasting milk bottles! Classic!

I can remember when you could get a can of Old Jamaica ginger beer, 5 bags of Monster Munch, a crate of Moose Juice, a hundredweight of milk bottles and still get change from 10 pence.

Brilliant, just brilliant. I'm old (my wife who also watched the video is even older) and we both love Milk Bottles and Ginger Beer. It could be an age thing but we've never tried to analyse it before. Keep on making us all smile, you are doing a great job.

I love your _"Eat This"_ series Alana. Your brutally honest reviews are always loaded with sarcasm and sugar. Would love for you to do an episode where you try off brand crisps from convenience stores. Brands like Bobby's, Roysters, Brannigans, Cofresh or whatever you can get your hands on.

Yeah, i'm 55 and lived in England all my life and there’s plenty of B&M stuff I’ve never seen before! This is not your typical English stuff and is horribly cheap and probably imported. There's no way I'd buy any of that stuff. You are very brave taking one for the team!

As an 'old' person I have always loved Old Jamaica Ginger Beer. When I was young the challenge was to drink the whole can in one go and feel the burn on the back of your throat!

Haven't heard of some of those. But ginger beer is LOVELY STUFF. Try it with whisky or rum.

you're 100% right about the nostalgia thing, the vast majority of the "classic" things we love so much here are because we grew up with them and in a lot of cases probably also grew up with our Grans cooking them which means that even if the food in question was good and not just nostalgia the versions you can buy ready made in shops won't hold up to our memories of them, but expecting you to make everything from scratch would be insane

With jelly meerkats and similar sweets, put them in the fridge for an hour first. It makes them hard and less chewy, but for some reason, they taste better. By the way, Old Jamaica ginger beer is fantastic!

It is becoming a Tuesday ritual that I watch Alanna's latest video while drinking a beer. This should be recommended by the NHS as therapy.

No one I know here in New England drinks ginger beer by itself. Mixed with dark rum (preferably Gosling's) and some lime, it's a delicious summer beverage known as a Dark 'n Stormy. I recommend you try it that way. For science.

B&M stands for bargains and more. It is a place to buy stuff at a cheaper price but still decent quality.

This is one of the best Adventure and Naps videos. The Moose Juice made me laugh, especially as it was deemed preferable. I make the following points: 1. B&M is there for bargains. End of line and you are less likely to get ripped off. Poor people may shop there, but the same branded item is the same whether you buy it in Waitrose for twice the price or there. B&M also sell Cadburys Mini Eggs and Reeses. 2. Milk Bottles used to be a childs sweet, They are inoffensive and easy to digest. The white stuff is cornflour, which is used in the moulds so they come out more easily. Not cocaine. They do different milkshake flavour. 3. The meerkats looked cheap, so was obvious they were going to be average. Try Lion brand if you want to be a connoisseur of very hard jellies, midget gems (you wont like the black ones)/ fruit salad, fruit pastilles. Try Tangfastics, Haribo (German) who have taken over that section of the market. 4. Ginger does not taste like liquorice. Nor does Cream Soda (Vanilla) Nor does Vimto (Fruit). Thanks for the vid it made me laugh. Try Home Bargains a similar and better value shop imo. They often have European sweets that fell off the back of a lorry, same with Poundstretcher.Normally from E Europe. Thorntons or M&S also have nice sweets. Theres scope for testing the hard traditional candy, which is what existed before most of these chocolate bars. Good how you go back for the second try just to be sure. Ignore the haters/ very rude people. Lots of people love your videos.

OMG, Barratt Milk Bottles are my favourite sweets of all time! You've got to put two in your mouth at once, one either side, and enjoy the chewy goodness! Heaven..

The Old Jamaica is a bit of a British institution which has been around forever. Helps if you feel nauseous!

Daim, Old Jamaican and Barratt are brands, I think the others are only available in B&M. I liked Maynard Milk Bottles as a kid but I don't know if Barrett are the same Bonus fact: Barrett and Maynard were based in North London until the 1990's, Barrett near Wood Green and Maynard near Tottenham

Ginger Beer, SO GOOD!

The moral of this video was stated by you near the beginning. "This stuff was all cheap." Cheap sweets, like cheap anything, are just nasty. I admire your courage in putting that stuff in your mouth at all. Like most of life, you get what you pay for and TANSTAAFL is the golden rule.

That ginger beer is brilliant, I drink it with gin. You can buy a gin liqueur flavoured with rhubarb and ginger. Drink it neat in a small glass or mix with olde Jamaican ginger in a tall glass with ice.

You can still buy peanut brittle in the UK shops, if you ever see Mr Tom's, so it's not something just old people would know. I almost fell off my chair laughing when you said I hope ginger beer was like root beer. I love ginger beer, at least you didn't get the fiery ginger beer for more of a ginger kick. And now we all know what the juice of a moose is. Oh!! and Alanna don't take this the wrong way, but don't get better, we love you the way you are :)

B&M is what I'd describe as a disposal store, they buy up bankrupt stock and cancelled orders and overproduction items, they then sell them at a knock down price. I've bought beer from B&M, liked it and bought more, when they run out of stock I never see it in their stores again. B&M was founded in 1978 by Malcolm Billington as Billington & Mayman, they first started retailing in Cleveleys between Blackpool and Fleetwood. B&M's flagship store is in the former Woolworths premises next door to Blackpool Tower. B&M own Heron Frozen Foods, they expanded by buying former Woolworths, Kwiksave and Glyn Web stores.

Her initial comment is that you are unintentionally funny. I’ve increasingly become convinced that she just doesn’t have the acuity to appreciate your sense of humor.
