Same thing happened in the nineties when all the small community hospitals closed because of the government and guess what happened. I worked ems and the nearest hospital is now 25 miles away. The only thing that happened is that the ambulance service has als (advanced life support) we were only bls for decades. A lot of volunteer ems first responders and volunteer fire fighters left because it was open season on them for frivolous fingernail breaking lawsuits.

So why don't you report it ? how can you claim statistics if the issues are not reported?, As for policing it is and endless job you deal with the worse of society. I can easily respect individuals who put their lives on the line the minute they walk out the door. I strongly support professional law enforcement officers like those who came under attack protecting the national capital. I also realize that they responded to extremely dangerous domestic violence situation which get even more mapped up due to the practically unrestricted distribution of guns. By the way Louisiana is rated 50th, in crime and corrections by US News and #48 in economic opportunity. Best to look home first before lecturing others.

Only reported crime is down since in many Blue cities the cops ain’t even showing up unless someone’s been shot. So, most people will only report serious crime. Also, many of what were once felonies have now been downgraded by liberal DAs to simple misdemeanors. But those of us who live in cities like Houston, New Orleans, Memphis, Chicago, NYC, Oakland, etc., know the real story. And it’s only getting worse.
