I used to watch your vlogs after school when I was much younger not knowing that I would be still watching them as an adult post-university graduation while at work - they never fail to make me smile - so amazed at how much you and Zoe have accomplished - thanks for always being yourselves and supporting your viewers in doing the same!

Alfie, I've watched your videos for about 6 years, I want to say, it's crazy how time flies and how the world has changed so much, I will say, your vlogs genuinely helped get me through some real tough times (especially about 2 years ago when I was being admitted into a mental health facility because of how bad I got) I was struggling to sleep at night, I was self harming, not eating right or taking care of myself, I was legitimately fighting to stay alive, I was fighting with myself as I constantly wanted to end my life and even made some attempts... your vlogs were a daily ritual for me at the time and it really helped me through some really dark times (dealing with OCD, Major depression, Borderline personality disorder, PTSD, Anxiety and first episode psychosis) I'm also transgender and my parents don't accept me and it really messes me up.. I'm unable to move out because of my health (physical and mental) as well as financhal issues, I'm 23 years old and still feel so stuck in life, but I'm going to stick it out the best I can.. I know you probably won't see this comment, but that doesn't matter ^_^ Thankyou for being a genuine person, a caring, kind, considerate and human being with a big heart... thankyou.

I remember when you would always walk in that park and the fans would always be following you and asking for pictures and how that genuinely can be overwhelming for anyone and yet you constantly still put the fans and everyone else before you 1st. My brother in law had the same issue with swallowing. He got an echo done whilst swallowing so you could see how his esophagus reacted and wouldn’t let any food trough. It got fixed with a really small easy operation.

Hey Alfie! I hope all is well. I have been watching your videos for actually 10 years now so just want to say hey and happy holidays!

Alfie, just because you had a clear biopsy and test, don’t let that stop you seeking more help. I (without going into the gruesome detail 😉) had to go the loo ALOT from the age of 11. Nothing found just said IBS. I had a colonoscopy years later as still suffering and came back all clear. Fast forward quite a few years later, I had a random blood test and diagnosed with liver disease. No symptoms, not unwell etc, only had a blood test for a cough 🤔😂. Still bad stomach, so another colonoscopy as was under a consultant. Came back clear. Docs weren’t happy as still bad stomach.... 3rd colonoscopy and found I have ulcerative colitis which is linked to the type of liver disease I have. I’d had UC since 11 years old, just when I had the tests, I wasn’t in a flare. Long story short, this isn’t a sob story as I’m very well thankfully and fortunate to have a great life and now totally managed by medication. Moral of the story, if it’s affecting your life, get it sorted. I was adamant needing the loo was in my head as I always wanted to go when I couldn’t. Go and get another test, better to be sure and stop the annoying illness stopping you eat in public. Love the vlogs, you’re a genuinely nice person 😀👍

Alfie, do some research on eosinophilic esophagitis (ee-oh-sin-a-phil-ick uh-saa-fuh-jai-tis}. It sounds very similar to what you experience!

Hey Alfie! I had a question come to mind while watching ur vid: What are you grateful for? like out of everything, what is the one thing you feel the most thankful for?

I also have bad Acid Reflux, I’ve tried a few medications, Ranitidine didn’t work, so I had Lansoprazole, which is great, if you are consistent with it! Obviously everyone is different though, but oddly, only the TEVA brand of lansoprazole works for me! Glad to hear that yours is a bit better now though, it’s the worst if I forget my tablets and get it in my sleep!

When you were describing your difficulties with swallowing it reminded me of a condition called dysphasia. It is a swallowing disorder. A throat scope would not diagnose it, but rather a swallow study at a hospital. You could look into it and maybe get some answers!

I have the same issue with eating Alfie but my throat will close up sometimes as well. I’ve been told it’s esophageal spasms. So I just make sure I have liquid at all times while eating. Love your videos! Biggest hugs from Arkansas, USA 🇺🇸

My sister had her esophagus stretched some last year because she has issue's swallowing food. She just had a follow up to see if how her throat is, she was told she'll have to have the stretching procedure once a year for the rest of her life (she's 31), or until she's fed up with having it.

I have the same thing as you Alfie. I had operation when I was 10 months old. So I can now burp but I can’t be sick. I’ve always had ha drink or two depends my whole life in every meal. I eat multiple times a day too to keep energised.

Wow you talking about your throat made me realize how long I've been watching your videos and how much I know about you. The throat thing might be Esophagitis, which can be caused over time by GERD (acid reflux). The camera/testing may have not picked up on it earlier since it hadn't developed yet. Disclaimer: not a doctor, just know someone who has it.

I used to have that swallowing problem when I was under stress. Food would not go down without liquid to make it go down. I would almost choke! Just keep water handy at all times and it does go away. You can grow out of it. xxx

I have a similar thing when eating. My problem came from me choking on food when I was younger so now my brain is always cautious and on alert when I eat. I take water with me everywhere I go because I’m uncomfortable eating without it. Recently my body has started the refusing to swallow thing as well. It’s definitely a mental thing but still annoying :)

You should look up achalasia it could be something similar, it’s where your throat basically struggles to push food down.

I have the same throat issue! I always describe it to people as I feel like I’m choking every time I swallow food (but I’m not). As a result I eat incredibly slow because I think I’m so scared of choking, I mentally make myself believe I am? To combat this, I always have to drink liquid after almost every bite. So I feel you!!
