Watching Mark do just about anything is hilarious but making French Toast may be the funniest. And yes, it is such an American thing. The fact you had to look it up cracks me up, and it looks like you missed most of the steps haha. Signed, a basic American girl.
A Banks look up vertically and horizontally because you don't seem to know which is which. It would be hard to fit them in your mouth if they were horizontal (long ways) aka how he did it, not vertical (short).

Oh mark! French toast is really so simple! Beat the egg milk and vanilla together, then melt butter in the pan while you SOAK the bread in egg mixture and cook until golden on both sides. Love you mark! Hope you try it again the real way! It's much better!
OMG, I was pounding the desk laughing and had to keep stopping the feed to wipe away the tears so I could see. When you put the egg on the bread with a spoon instead of pouring the egg mixture into a bowl and soaking it. And the butter in with the egg instead of the pan. You shoud have a cooking channel. Hilarious. Funniest thing on RU-vid EVER!!!!

Hey Mark, the way I make french toast is crack 2 eggs in a bowl, add half a tea spoon of cinnamon powder and whisk. Pour the eggs mixture on a flat plate and dip/completely soak 2 slices of thick white break in that plate. Then heat up a pan, add a teaspoon of butter in that pan and a dash of sunflower oil. Throw in the pieces of bread and cook on both sides. That should taste even better ☺️

Haha.. 1 egg and 1 cup of milk.. whisk together.. in a bowl.. get the bread and soak/dip it in (put the mixture in a dish that will fit a slice of bread -might make it easier) and put butter in the pan and fry the bread so it’s crispy on the outside but soft in the middle.. the Americans add sweet stuff but is Aussie’s add tomato sauce! I have it with tomato sauce (organic ketchup).

Eggy bread is generally what it's called in England, either sweet or savoury. It's actually not something we eat often here in France, we have Pain Perdu, which means "lost bread" as it's made with very stale bread and soaked in eggs, cream, sugar and vanilla before being fried in butter and eaten as a dessert.
