I use to work at a Hardees in my younger days and I will give them credit, their chicken tenders are hand breaded and honestly very good quality, burger meat also tastes and is a higher quality than typical fast food. Underrated chain definitely
I worked for Hardees back in the day and remember Carl's Jr purchasing them and turning them into Star Hardees. We used to have Roy Rogers chicken, roast beef and at one time Hardees had over 4K stores, they were the 3rd largest fast food restaurant ahead of Wendy's. Most of Hardee's around me closed after Carl's Jr purchased the company, its too bad because Hardees was the bomb.
When carls bought Hardee's it confused the public. They thought it was a new restaurant. And the service style changed. Instead of having food ready it was cooked as ordered. So after you ordered you got a number to place on your table and at least a 5 minute wait time. The Midwest and south are in a hurry, unlike laid back east coast😮ers.
Hardee's strong suit is breakfast. Some stores around me close early and only serve breakfast and lunch. Their biscuits are amazing and should really be the standard to what is a good biscuit.
Thias video is great and a terrific idea. Y'all should do Rallys and Checkers next. I grew up in Kentucky and Tennessee. One thing I observed and told my wife was "of course the avocados and vegetables were fresher on the west coast. That is where they are grown these days." Then again though my hometown in Kentucky on the KY/TN border is close to Kansas City which is the largest meat processing area in the US therefore the beef we grew up on was hyper fresh. It's a give and take
I just started work at Carl's Jr where I live. I don't mind it. I get paid enough to make payments on a hotdog cart I want to buy and open my own street restaurant..
fun fact: in canada we also have Carls jr on the west coast, however we cannot have Hardees for the east coast cause the name is too similar to Harveys which is a Canadian fast food joint
In 1997, Carl Karcher’s partnership, CKE Restaurants, acquired Hardee’s for $327 million. The move was an opportunity for Carl’s Jr. to quietly expand into the East without agitating Hardee’s existing customers. They kept the name, and, at first, the menu that folks were familiar with; the partnership started to introduce Carl’s menu items to Hardee’s locations in the early 2000s. They also refurbished the existing buildings and signage, eventually leading to the strikingly similar appearances today. By Kara Kovalchik.
@@WendyPadillaa They are fixing the statement in this video which is not true on the actual date of a merger which who bought who is also wrong in the video lol so I assume they are clearing that up in their statement.
I from China and been on many trip to USA on business and food in south MUCH better than anywhere else. It like more north and west you go worse food is. California food awful compare to Florida I say, Kansas food better than Colorado, Texas food better than New York. Food in Ohio far worse than Louisiana. It like American from south or midwest far better cook than rest of country and it not even close.
That lady in the back was like ya I’m moving as she noticed they are filming. Also the guy said I used to see you when I was a kid … dude looks older than you 😂
Hardees was my first job at 16. That cheese on the hot ham and cheese is swiss. They cover the ham with it and nuke it for 30 seconds. and then put it on the bun.
A famous star here on the west coast has ketchup with sweet pickle relish in it similar to Bob's Big Boy. What we knew as special sauce. My first job was working at Carl's Jr. as a breakfast cook. So when I worked there you had the Happy Star for kids, the Old Time Star for seniors, the Famous Star and Super Star for average adults. Then they added the Western Bacon Cheeseburger. So we had a bunch of sides: Fried zucchini, french fries, onion rings, crisscut (waffle) fries. We also had a roast beef sandwich and a chopped steak flaked and formed sandwich served on an oval bun. We also sold apple turnovers and taquitos deep fried called a Crisperito. We had a self serve salad bar and even had baked potatoes. Sadly those days are gone. So now you have gourmet burgers that are converted Hardee's Monster Thick burgers. Originally called Six Dollar Burgers at Carl's Jr...but they had to change the name due to inflation. The only survivors are the Famous and Super Stars and the Western Bacon. 😢

As a person that works at Carls. I've eaten everything on the Menu. We are about to have a new sandwich called the Haunted Ghost Burger. it is a ghost pepper burger, which to me is exciting, as I love spicy stuff. Though I one day do wanna try Hardees stuff. Especially the nashville tenders and the mushroom burger.
Nope!! My dudes, first time I have EVER commented but it's white American cheese and DUKE'S mayo!! Also try the freaking tacos and burritos if you are ever in Ohio... JS love LOVE Hardee's ❤️
I am visiting Arizona and the Carl's Jr is nothing compared to Hardee's... No Frisco Burger, no Big Ham and Cheese, no Mushroom and Swiss, no Sausage and Gravy breakfast... I had a Sourdough Burger that was decent but now it is gone already...
All you needed to do was show up for breakfast and realize you could get a country fried ANYTHING with gravy ON or on the side… Hardee’s is clearly superior…. And the ole’ western cheeseburger you love so much is a seasonal thick burger at Hardee’s. I’m biased… it was my first job(that I didn’t appreciate until later in life…now… just now).
Hardees's is just a Burger King clone,,hey if I want a whopper I'll go to BK..mmm'k? Carls Jr has burgers no other chain offers like the double western bacon cheezborger,,,Carl's Jr for the win, seriously it is no contest, I'll go with Carl's over Hardee's any time every time.
You should compare the Hardee’s Monster burger and Frisco burger to the Jack in the Box Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger and Sourdough Jack. Interestingly I read that Hardee’s uses ketchup on both buns, so the Famous Star tasting more ketchup at Hardee’s makes sense.
Bruh love Carl’s specially tha fried zucchini 🤤🤤🤤 bt them prices out here in Northern Cali be hurtin the pockets lol bt Hardee’s Deff looks like sum schmack with those Nashville hots 🤤 great vid 🫡🙏🏼👌🏼🔥🔥🔥
You guys know that Hardee’s and Carls Jr are avail all in the mid U.S. too? With all that fast food and restaurants y’all eating, you’re starting to look like the super Mario brothers. Super Brennon brothers?
Carls Jr really is hella expensive for a fast food burger place not named Five Guys. I don't even go there anymore unless i see a decent deal in the app.
❤ the big h here in Birmingham Alabama taste so great truly respect from 205 pisces black alpha male Birmingham Alabama home of the Civil rights moment my birthday Saturday big 42
I have ate at both these places and Hardees has a better breakfast and more unique offerings while Carl's Jr probably has better burgers. I still think that Hardee's mushroom and swiss burger is 10/10.
Hardee's has the best mushroom Swiss burger ever!!! It is something special! I can't find anywhere that the mushroom n sauce is as good as there's! Even in a non fast food restaurant!!!
Hardee's would cr7sh Carl's 15 years ago and breakfast is a no doubters. I was waiting for that review but I guess everyone 8s entitled to miss one.dont miss so bad again guys please
You need to check your facts yes Carl Jrs did buy Hardee’s but they bought it somewhere in the 2000’s because I was working for them and that is when they put the star and then they sold the Hardee’s off to franchises around 2010 or so
Its not the famous star that burger looks nothing like the carls jr famous star!!! So outraged damn cant belive Hardeys downgraded such a classic burger that beats most fast food chains easily
dont know if Hardee's is the same all around the world but this looked really good! i have a restaurant in my hometown that you probably never heard of but you should try it!:) hopefully you respond to this comment loll huge fan of you btw:)
According to their websites, there are a few states that have both Carl's and Hardees: Louisiana, Wyoming and Florida. But the locations are a bit far from each other. I would love to do the taste test between both side by side.
im from orange county and now live in nashville and damn, i miss carl's jr just for the western cheeseburger. famous stars out here are still good, though. not the same.
Carl's Jr grilled sour dough burger is the Frisco burger. It was even on the sign as they walked in. Western bacon double is sold at Hardee's as is the monster burger it. The condiments on the burgers like guacamole isn't gonna sell in the south
I used to live in orange county CA and now living in southern GA. I got to say Carl's jr beats hardees by a long run. You cant beat that western burger baby and criss cut fries ❤
that lady the only weird person I ever seen your videos just nosey in the background she want her 5sec of fameshe could just ask , some people you just can't stop they're ignorance
