Rp 220k for 4 persons - or Rp 55k each in 2016 was probably only a little more expensive as 10k than a single lunch package of big mac+french fries+pepsi. Nonetheles for such spices-rich food, long processed cooking and priceless eating experience you've got is far cheaper than anything 🙂 Keep exploring guys! 👍

Pak Martin / Ibu Julie, FYI, next time, pick a Padang restaurant that is not a chain one ( Sederhana / Garuda / Sari Ratu / Pagi Sore ) are chains Padang Restaurants. I remember eating at Sari Ratu and I felt like eating outside Indonesia! Pick much smaller Padang restaurants, the taste of the dishes isn't that much different and a lot cheaper! Guaranteed! 👍😊

Next visit should try Sayur nangka, dried empal, sambal ijo, Ayam panggang and alot of kari. Those are the 'standart, of Nasi Padang. If you wanna have a blast, go on try the creamy-yummie Gule Otak. Superb!

well Martin, "sederhana" is famous brand of the resto.. you can compare with another Padang resto.. anyway those menu is incomplete, you should find n try fried Eel or we call it "belut goreng"..

Way so cheap ya it cost 55K each whether u choose 2 kind meat and drink juice. If u want to ger more cheaper try to take a way, so they will reduce the service charge for dine in.

Because Sederhana is a chain restaurant so it's a bit pricey, they served good food tho'. But there are many cheaper alternatives if you are craving for Padang food.

Ya itu 17$ lumayan mahal untuk restoran di indonesia, mungkin rasanya seperti menghabiskan sebesar 120$ di restoran amerika. Konversinya dikalikan 7 karena biasanya harga di amerika 7 kali lipat dibanding indonesia.

Sederhana restaurang is indeed a little bit expensive for padang food..this restaurant is targeting a middle up consumer,,so do not be shocked if the price is expensive :) but the taste of the food is good :)

WOW ! my family live only 5 minutes from this restaurant di Perumahan Jatibening :-) Thats the Padang style and they only charge you any food or plate you ate. I have seen many foreigners eat in this restaurant but they getting more pricey alias Mahal banget LOL Enjoy them ! :-)

If you say expensive Not because you eat at the restaurant 4 people think about one person cost 50.000 I think not expensive to eat and drink in 50 000 / person wear. the difference also in jogjakarta may only difference 50.000 from the amount of 220000, maybe in Jogyakarta restaurant 130000 for 4 people.

Kenapa mahal? kalo di resto padang lebih baik menghabiskan satu macam lauk, jangan ambil lauk terlalu banyak macam tapi ngga habis. Karena hitungannya per piring yang diambil lauknya. Jadi kalau ambil rendang mending ambil 1 piring sekaligus dihabiskan, walaupun kita hanya ambil 1 rendang, tetap akan dihitung 1 piring hehehe

This is my family favorite restaurant! Always good taste! Good choice Martin! Try Ayam Pop there and avocado juice! Yeah lots of plates they serve. If you already take a bit food from one plate, you should finish it all, cause you still have to pay for one plate. lol .. Yeah its quite expensive, but worth it! :-))

there is a special trick to reduce the cost... just mix all the sauce/soup in your rice and dont take the meat or chicken... and eat that with casava leaf... maybe only 20.000 per person

As a Sumatran (my hometown is just south of West Sumatra & Riau, where there are a lot of Padang people open Padang restaurant), I don't really favour Nasi Padang in Java Island, no offence. The flavour is altered to suit the taste of Javanese. I always find it sweeter than it should be, and the rice, it's not the same. It's also not that spicy. It's okay, but not up to the Padang standard. Sederhana should be kind of new in Jogja. Lived there for 4.5 years. There wasn't any Sederhana restaurant before, just the Duta Minang. You should really try eating Nasi Padang in... well, Padang. :D
