One thing I've learned especially being from New Orleans is that the places that look run down most times have the best food. The places that are fancy and dolled up care less about quality and more about image.

Make sure they didn’t buy anything on your card. That would be the first thing I would have checked right away

I would pay with cash if I went to any places like these. It's just easier and safer 😊 I remember going to a BBQ place inside a laundry mat. Yummy 😋

The only thing that has me questioning it is when they pulled Jake aside. You didn't tell us what that convo was all about. Either way just to be on the safe side since yall were sketched out keep an eye on your transaction history and charges. Better safe than sorry! (Its always best to trust yiur gut instincts in those situations so you're probably right, they may have been up to no good).

That first place called Nashville Biscuit House used to be called the "Knife and Fork". My late mother and I used to go there at least once a week. That was over 37 years ago. They had already been around for at least a decade. The food was "old Nashville" cuisine. Southern soul food at its finest. The bathrooms were clean. The booths and everything were clean. They were known for their meringue-topped pies (6 inches plus high). Around the holidays you couldn't get any pie because they did a huge killing off of people ordering takeaway for their holiday meals. Ooh Wee is what we used to call just plain "Q"...which means old school...cooked in a pit...low and slow. Back in the day, you knew it was the best because the sack would be greasy before you got back in your car LOL. The best Q is served with white bread to soak up the grease. Losing the CC was scary though. Always use cash for Q.Dud, "Dino's" is where my mother got food poisoning lol. It was a bar all the way back in the 50s. Hank Williams used to be played there now they have the Cranberries.

Always give dive food joints a chance. Unlike bigger places that live by their name and slack off on the quality, out of the way, little places live by the food and what I like the most is that every time you find one of these places, it feels like you've discovered a secret. good vid., guys.

if you ever have a chance to drive through the 4 corners area, it would be cool to see you guys review native American food. They have Navajo Burger (2hamburger patties on frybread), Navajo Taco (pinto beans on a frybread), Roast mutton sandwich, Steam corn stew, Frybread. Pork steak on frybread with green chili. Some even do hotdog on frybread. You both have to try and review these food.

Seeing this reminds me of a sketchy place I used to frequent when I was living in St. Paul, MN. The place was called "Mickey's Diner" and had the best and biggest all day breakfast for $1.99. The restaurant was literally made from an old 1960s railway car. But I live in Norway now. This was all back in 1990.

When people claim they lost your card I can't help but think they're writing down the info on it and are going to use it a year from now.. People are so shady and nothing surprises me anymore. I hope that wasn't the case. Id get a replacement card /number on the off chance they stole your info

I went to this place called Texas Fried Chicken in Orlando back in 2013 when it was a run down and disgusting looking area with drug addicts and prostitutes but the food was absolutely amazing. I went back a second time in 2019 and they improved the area a lot when they added a police station literally in front of the restaurant and the food was still amazing.

I would be freaking out if they lost my only card on me lol but you handled it well but also I highly doubt they would steal the card number and such they didn’t seem like those type of guys they just older trying to run a awesome BBQ spot

You really can't judge a book by its cover! Just yesterday was driving by hole in the wall Ethiopian place in a pretty sketch part of Seattle across from some abandoned buildings. Figured just to stop in and see what it was like. And it was fire. Ate to my limit and could only finish like 3/4 of the dish.
