Eating at the largest vending machine park in Japan It has an amazing collection of them it is almost like a museum Amazing Vending Machine Park goo.gl/maps/qR...
Edit : I'm just a fan of those kind of old fashion vending machines(and read some book about it) (2023/01/22) Just in case if anyone wondering , the chazuke , udon and soba are not instant food , but freshly cooked at the spot.(The raw noodle was prepared in bowl , and the machine will cook it with boiling water when customer ordered , than drain the noodle and add soup into the bowl.) (For chazuke , the rice is surely pre-cooked , but just refrigerated , instead of frozen-dryed.) (Those machine has to be refilled at least once daily. For freshness.) 5:12 It's indeed used to be a genuine dry batteries vending machine back in it's glory days, but now used to sell candy. 5:33 I personally won't recommend try this one....since it's just normal "ready food" type of curry pack. 13:14 The normal instant soup , TBH....But the machine is super rare , so could give it a try. 14:19 Microwave foods. 19:14 Indeed toasted on the spot.(The tin foil pack also serves as cooking vessels.)
at 13:03 it nice to know that the curry vending machine (the red vending machine) is still up and running, the old man who makes the curry for the vending machines got featured on the channel "Great Big Story", title of the video is "A Homemade Meal . . . From a Vending Machine".
I got to say, Big ups to the people who maintain all those machines. That cannot be a inexpensive task, and I have no doubt that it's time consuming as hell.
I was fascinated when I received a cooked to order pizza out of a vending machine in the Salt Lake City airport several years ago and I've had loads of hot noodle bowls from machines in Japan, but I've never seen anything like this display!
Each individual vending machine owner/company has people they send out to service and refill all of their machines in a given area. There are probably dozens of people who come in and out of this place regularly to collect money, restock, and maintain whichever machines they own
That place become popular and developed into largest vending machines places, because of a video from the food RU-vidrs "Ericsurf6", after his video was broadcast on a Japanese local TV show, not long after that a lot of curious visitors visiting that place, and the owner added more and more vending machines... sorry for my bad English
Don't worry about it. Your English was very understandable, which is the most important thing (and yours is better than some of my fellow Americans to be honest)! 😄 Nice to have some background on how the place came to be.
I was waiting for such comment explaining why so many vending machines are located in a tyre store!! Thank you and your english skill is fine like mine, you don't need to apologize coz you have a mother language and you most be proud of it plus you learned to speak another language which is great even if you're not fluent in it.
Absolutely fascinating… the largest vending machine park in Japan, in a dirt lot, next to a tire shop, filled with old school vending machines that sell everything from umbrellas to fortunes, fish pancakes to full hot noodle bowls…and how you eat all that, I have no idea! But thanks for feeding the kitty 😸
I am in love with the vintage feel of this place, all the machines look worn and well-used but that's what's charming about them also surprise kitty appearance! I would not be surprised if they hung around the area to eat leftover food and ask people for treats
Huge kudos to all the engineers and designers that made all of these amazing vending machines that can serve hot meals! The closest ones to my house don’t even display the correct drinks sometimes lol
Haha mine didn't even show the correct message and I lost $1. I contacted the machine owner for the wrong "available" number and got a compensation but they asked me to just transfer it online... I give up😂
Those retro bottled vending machines took me back to my childhood when i'd walk down to the gas station and get a bottle of pepsi. You had to pull hard! Those were the days! Candy and soda.
Yep those are classic, but had to be taken out because anyone with a cup could get free soda by popping the top and not paying any money. (or after small fix pay for one, but pop the top of others)
I’ve seen quite a few videos from this vending machine place and they always show the same machines over and over. Thank you!!!! For showing us different machines, different foods and for walking us down the inside to see some of the less common offerings they have. I had no idea it was so extensive since everyone else just shows the same Ramen, Hamburger and cup noodle machines. I thoroughly enjoyed this video, as I do with all your videos. Have a happy holiday season with all your friends and loved ones!!! ✌🏻💕😃
@@Emeraldwitch30 I bet you could do a full hour of this vending machine area and not show the same thing twice! I’m definitely going to check this out next spring when I go to Japan!! I cannot wait to see everything they offer. You have a wonderful holiday season with your loved ones and thanks for agreeing with my comment!!!! ✌🏻💕😃 🎄
@@melissadunton3534 you have a great holiday with your family too We are listening to the wind howl and the snow come down here in michigan. But we are warm and I have all the cooking done for our family feast tomorrow. Knock on wood but I think we got it done lol. 🥰 have a lovely night/day
@@Emeraldwitch30 thank you so much!!!! It’s also snowy here in Pennsylvania. But the wind is what’s getting us this year. The wind chill factor today is already at -13*F. I’m in the northeast part of the state…so we get the windy fronts off of the Finger Lakes. I know you know how that is in Michigan! We’re doing our holiday dinner and celebration next weekend…so tomorrow is Chinese take out and Christmas movies!!! Which has become kind of a tradition in itself. 😃 Glad you’re going to have a wonderful holiday with the people you love, that’s what keeps life moving and smiles on faces. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!! Keep warm and much love ✌🏻🥰😘
@@melissadunton3534 lol its windy but not too bad where I am today. Our family party tonight and Chinese buffet tomorrow 😋 its become traditional to eat Chinese on Christmas here too!
if the used bowls are stacked outside, the cats can easily hop up and lick them for food, or if people give the cats bits of food like dancing bacons did
The idea of some bulky, dirty, tough-looking diesel mechanics coming back from this "food dispenser tunnel" with a handful of Hello Kitty - Rainbow Edition ice cream bar, Cotton Candy & Marshmallow flavored Ramune, vampire-shaped potato chips served in a cardboard coffin container and some other animalistic or anime themed flashy food - it just cracks me up! :D
My Uncle is ex-navy and a mechanic for Caterpillar, his favorite snack is a bowl of fruity pebbles and a glass of strawberry milk. It's hilarious seeing this giant burly man eating a bowl of rainbow cereal and drinking pink milk.
When a mommy vending machine and a daddy vending machine love each other very much. They go to a random tire factory to make more baby vending machines.
When my kids were little i used to take them for their routine health appointments at a military hospital with a room full of vending machines. They loved to go “vending” they would have loved this place and hope someday they get to come to see it in person!
So glad there's a culture that respects vending machines. Here in the U.S., I don't think many people understand the minor miracles that they are. You could tell the story of the world from all that's gone into a vending machine.
Thank you for making this video. I first saw Japan's incredible vending scene in the mid 90's and was fascinated at all the things being sold out of vending machines back then. I still am fascinated nearly 30 years later!
*That cute little cat eating the snack!* I remember flying out to Japan from here in Los Angeles, back in 1989, to work on a movie for two months. The vending machines, even back then, were fun to buy things from. Even my hotel room fridge had a little vending machine inside it! Many thrills. Merry Christmas! 💜
I've been to Japan from the US several times, and my first visit was around the same time as your trip. I remember these hot food vending machines seemed to attract the late-night, hungry after-the-bars-close crowd. Like an automated noodle food truck.
I wish we had cool stuff like this in the states. A place like this with some park benches outdoors, a nice breeze, and some fresh air (maybe not so close to the roadway)? Literally my ideal spot.
Once more things become automated and cooks are kicked out of the fast food chain this will be more normal. It's awesome to have those everywhere but imagine having half of your once "fast food" meals become shelved and frozen in these machines. Yum.
We have them. They're called food trucks! Actually, there are a few interesting vending machines scattered throughout the US. The salt lake city baggage claim terminal C area has a couple of machines that dispense hot food. One even custom makes and cooks individual pizzas and the one I ate was actually tasty. I was grateful after a delayed flight that arrived too late for delivery or room service at my hotel with nothing else open in the airport. I think these would be a huge success in college dormitories if someone had the capital to order 50 machines, design and order the food items needed to set them up and pay a couple of people to service them once each week. I can see students paying $10 for an individual pizza or bowl of fresh ramen.
@@jessicabecause3717 I think cooks will be the one group of restaurant workers that won't be fully automated. Within the next decade, we're going to see most industries lose jobs to automation. Some factories are already fully automated with only a tech person on site. All new construction on apartment/condo buildings in some cities must now include the technology to accommodate automated deliveries that can leave a packing location on a truck and arrive at the apartment building without a human being involved at all. It won't be long before long haul truck drivers are obsolete.
I was watching this half asleep and when i saw the mini arcade at 25:10 i instantly woke up and said to myself ' Hello, what do we have here?!' .... 😸😻😹love it!!!
even though you probably share most of your food with Ms.Bacon, it still amazed me how much you can eat!!. If I have a huge stomach I also want to buy every single food there lol. Being there must feel like you got transported to early 2000.
The way some of the vending machines look old/aged yet work perfectly fine, feels... *supernatural* in some way. Like the machines aren't maintained by people who come by every day. They just continue to work and replenish their stock somehow, and that's why they're all gathered here.
I'm just Stunned, the Soba coming out in a Bowl?!? It's like someone is Really in there making you a bowl of hot soup, Wild! 🍜🍝🧃 Also, Thank You So Very Much, Dancing Bacons, your content has been a Delight! Happy Holidays & thank you again for Gifting us with your time & adventures 💝🙏✨
@@The_Gallowglass haha 😂 not my hotdogs!! I love condiments! I put everything on mine...ketchup, mustard, mayo, sauerkraut, relish, baked beans, mirepoix, caramelized onions, and horseradish 🤣
I absolutely adore Japanese vending machines! Wish the States would do the same but unfortunately there are too many unresponsible adults who would vandalize them
Thats so not the issue at all. Its the lack of compressed population and food supply chains to remote kitchens to supply these machines. If the US had density maybe we could but you gotta haul all those morons from flyover country to cities if you wanna live like this.
@@sarkaranishxactly, there’s already enough processed food ‚ready to eat‘ stuff out there. I’m from germany but it’s basically the same here, except fresh vegetables and fruit are a bit cheaper here than us. But fresh meat is really expensive nowadays too, at least if you want to buy decent one
it always amazes me how good the quality is of the food in these vending machines. and for cheap, reasonable prices too. imagine if america would do this. they dont even have this in the cities where they could pull it off. japan is such a great place because they actually care about their people
They would pull it off in any low-income areas, honestly. We already have an entire ecosystem of Americans that actively CHOOSE to eat at McDonald's, burger King, Wendy's, etc etc, what have you. The same sample of people would likely eat from these vending machines, too, I think.
Ive always heard the cost of living in japan is very high. I am very surprised to see how affordable all these items were (especially if taken recently). A 20oz coke here would run you $2.50 - $3 here in the US.
Same thoughts - the prices are around the same or even less than what small cafeterias charge here in Dubai. If I'm working in that area of Japan I'd probably go there everyday to eat
I love watching videos from this place. Japanese video machines are great we have nothing but, soda and junk food in the vending machines here in the US. I would love to visit this place and try some of the products. Thank you for making this video.
This would be truly an interesting experience for me. I'm a little iffy on vending machine food. Had good and bad experiences over the years. I would expect that they have improved tremendously over the years however. Its Christmas time here in the states states so happy Christmas, holidays, or however you celebrate. Just keep the smiles coming is all we ask. So much joy in these smiles makes the videos worth while watching. Happy holidays miss bacon and camera man.
@@VladamireD I actually stopped at our local big box store in michigan meijer. They still take film at their photo center! I guess people still use it. But most of their photo business is digital.
This the fourth video I've watched about this location, and Dancing Bacons is the first person I've seen to show more than the street facing machines. Good job.
The kitsune udon seemed absolutely lovely and made me crave the vegetarian ramen I always take when going to a fusion restaurant near where I live! Have fun while being there!
I found this channel when covid first hit and watched it a lot I forgot about it until this video popped up it’s being back feeling of happiness believe it not ha spending time with my partner and just relaxing
Yeah this place is fairly famous, situated in the middle of an industrial estate where it is probably unprofitable to open a eatery or even a fast food outlet. There are even 1/12 scale models of some of these machines, such as the udon and soba machine.
I'm in awe of all the interesting kei cars In the background of this video. From the wood paneled models to the s660 towards the beginning of the video. Such a cool backdrop to this relaxing and calming video
I visited here a couple of months ago. It isn't easy to get to from Tokyo station, but it's sure worth it. I only tried the hamburger x 2 and tuna sandwich x 2 and they were really filling.
I love Japanese curry and that beef curry looked fantastic as for the glass bottle sodas there is no better way to have them except in glass chilled in ice. Thanks for the video you two it was fun this time
The first video I ever saw on this channel was the one Mr. Bacon eats udon, burger and sandwiches at a vending machine restaurant. I liked that, but that one was nothing like everything else. Nice too see a similar one.
My favorite was the vintage dial drink machine. I've seen dozens of these Japanese vending machine videos on RU-vid, but it's the first time I seen one like that.
I use to live near here! dont worry about hygiene and things, the food is stocked daily and it's very clean. The food wasn't bad for the price (I wouldn't make it a common thing though).
I got an ad for bacon and in the ad they specifically said “then there’s Baconeers. The people who dance to the sound of sizzling Bacon”. First time watching a video from this channel 😅
You have no idea how jealous this makes me as a middle European. I used to work at a restaurant where apple juice mixed with sparkling water cost 3,80€.
@@sabinica Kei not key. I enjoy them all though because of the smallness of some of the cars it can cause them to be weird looking mainly squished. I personally enjoy the look of the Kei trucks like the Honda Acty.
Everyone who comments on how unappetizing the vending machine food looks: this is what your kids are being served in the public school lunch system! 🥸💩
