personally i avoid crowds whenever possible...if there's a line at a fast food place that i'm about to enter i'll turn around and leave...also detest loud noises and the inane chatter of multiple conversations at the same time...if i'm dining with someone i want to focus on them and what they might have to say, but typically i'm dining alone
You have no idea. I hate being around people (especially when I eat since I'm a fatty) and I'd love something like that as long as it tended to be empty or nearly empty most of the time.
Idk, i feel as though the lack of people would give me more anxiety, making me feel like i was being watched. Then if someone else came in, i'd shutdown and stare at my feet waiting for them to leave. I can see this type of thing helping some people though.
As someone with social anxiety speaking , you are only gonna make your anxiety worse by always choosing to isolate yourself from people. The more you avoid social interaction the worse you will become at socializing.
A year ago in March, my friends and I at 4 am while watching this video decided we would go to Japan in the following year. Now in January, 2022, we have purchased our flight and hotel and we’re official heading to Tokyo in June! We are 1000% stopping by this automat diner during our trip!
Udon vending machines were produced between 1975 and 1995. I think that about 3,000 units have been manufactured and about 20 units are currently in operation. Other vending machines are also valuable machines produced in the same age group. Since there are no more repair parts, all are repaired with custom parts.
Owning one of these machines is like having a rare classic car, expect one that you rarely find parts for. I hope these machines stay in service for a while as I enjoy vintage coin operated vending machines.
My thoughts exactly it only works in japan where society works differently than somewhere in a western culture vandalism is going rampant because the treatment, education and being strict has been watered down.
I really don't think that you'll ever go wrong eating from any vending machine in Japan tbh. They have this scientifically and got it in the bag and perfected it.
Just visited this place. Went when it was dark at night and raining, it was pretty empty but it does get crowded during work/school hours on weekdays. I went with a group of friends. One of the best experiences of my life tbh. Although the portion size seemed a lot smaller than they did in this video, at least for me and my friends. Maybe because we’re American. Had to get one ramen and two burgers to be full.
it technically does have a staff, the owner of the place. his number is clearly shown somewhere, and if a machine eats your money you can call him to get it fixed. this info was in the video by wao ryu only in Japan Channel.
I can imagine a place like this is a godsend for those coming home late from work or doing night shift and just don't have time to make dinner. All of it looks so good to eat!
Nah, these machines are all obsolete and no longer manufactured. They were made in the era before 24-hour convenience stores came to Japan. Far better quality in a convenience store.
@SONIC ART If you're a broke ass you wouldn't be eating here. You can prep meals way cheaper than this at home in Japan. Even if you don't cook, a whole meal of can of mackerel, rice, and cup of miso soup would cost less than these.
Yes it’s true, having a place like this in USA would be stolen from and destroyed :( we used to be a great place where this would work, but not anymore. I loved Japan when I visited. This food is amazing considering it’s from machines! I enjoy the adventure I get through your videos. It’s like I am eating and enjoying the food myself. Thanks for sharing these videos 👍🍜🍥🥟
Realistically. The Karen wouldn't even be complaining. It'd probably be her thanking the manager for whatever establishment this would be. I don't even think a Karen could get mad at this place in Japan.
The owner has his number on the machines. At least he said so in the video of this place on RU-vid in 2016. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-d8Z80J3jOao.html
I love all the "decoration" the staff done to this place. All the posters, A little drawing on the vending mache. They make this place feel less "automatic" with these little "touch" of human here and there.
Yeah pretty cute! Especially the little sandwitch with a heart drawn on one of the boards hanged on the vending machine. It gives the veding machines a little bit of personality in an industrialized world. :)
Oh yeah, and I've grown fond of those little japanese characters that look dumb, but adorable at the same time. Like the figure on the burger box. Some japanese people have weird art styles and I love it :D
Not exactly the same but you could probably just go to your local one stop shop (Kroger, Publix, Wegmans, etc.) grab some microwave entree and microwave it at their deli area. About the same cost and quality it appears.
Let’s make it clear: once you watch one of these videos, you can never stop watching it i just came back to this comment and holy i got lotta likes (btw im a girl)
They had places like this on the east coast well into the early 1990s. In New York there was company called Horn and something or other. They just fell out of style.
Why the heck Japan has these introvert heaven places?? I love it. In my country, living as an extrovert is the only acceptable way to fit in. It sucks :(
Because its a nonstop culture. You'll find workers finishing & starting their jobs at weird hours. Also, not many Japanese are able to go home because of distance between there & work. Often they'll stay at inns
@@atenanike226 Why especially in Africa ? I mean even in some countries in Europe or maybe Asia, this could be expensive. So why just in Africa ? Explain your logic, cuz wtf ?
I'm a bit late to the game in commenting, but I wanted to say thanks for making this video as it has always been my go-to whenever I feel stressed about life and I will have to say that this video was the inspiration of the walking tour videos that I've been producing and consideration for starting my own RU-vid channel
"Everything is self service and there are no staff" And since this is in Japan, people behave and everything is flawless. Unthinkable to have something like this in america.
Lemme tell you if you go anywhere in cali that's not my small town of like 1000 people, it's pretty much litter city everywhere in the big cities theres homeless people everywhere, everyone are assholes. Yep its America the land of opportunity
Toxic 10 definitely is the land of opportunity, it’s rather the fact that certain people’s mindsets are whats holding things back, not the values that our country upholds
I love your videos, the vending machines are awesome, and the fact that ingenuity, of your country right down to the packaging. God bless, from San Diego, CA.
8:36 To be honest I was expecting the tempura to be mushy and soft and not good you know BUT THAT CRUNSH and it was made in under 30 seconds this is amazing !!!
It’s relaxing for me because there’s no people besides the guys and the hum of the machines is like white noise to relax to and the radio/tv in the background isn’t too loud I would love to just lounge around there for a few hours especially late at night when it’s raining😊
This looks so nice. Too bad we can never have this in America; the crack-heads will break the vending machines and the homeless will live in the restaurant
But what about Universities? I live in Europe and people here don't attack vending machines we hace security and cameras everywhere in case someone did. Don't know about American Universities but I assume that it's the same as normally people who go to one have enough brains to not break something in front a security camera and in front of classmates. Any campus have cafeterias and normal vending machines but if you have like 10 minutes break this could be nice. I will not belive that USA's campus have students that can't use something without breaking it. Same with school.
@@hrf6548 Dream place to go to. Probably won't understand a thing they are saying, but I hope that when I finally get the chance to go there, new tech like mental translators would exist. Just the tought of traveling the world without any language barriers. Imagine how cool that would be! :D
I have dyslexia and thought it said Gluten Burger. I read it a few times because I was confused why they'd specify gluten, since most things have gluten. Then I thought "oh maybe it got lost in translation somewhere and its gluten free. But that doesnt make sense because gluten free bread can be gross." I had a whole conversation in my head about how confusing that was. And I never would've thought twice until I saw this comment 🤦♀️ wtf dyslexia
I use to serve on an American Aircraft carrier, and sometimes I did not have time to get food. We had a few vending machines to get some fast package foods. I wish we had these onboard, but you can't have it all.
When you think about it, there IS staff, you just cant see them! Someone has to go and clean the restaurant every day, and restock the vending machines every day. I'd just assume they do it after hours so they can live up to their "No staff" status :)
I saw a video some time ago about a Japanese man that owned a curry vending machine. He'd go early in the morning to restock the machine. I'd imagine this place functions the same.
It actually tastes better than it looks, I went to this place when I was on vacation in Japan and, yes, the sandwich was pretty sad, but the spices made it SO DAMN GOOD!
@Irfan Alddin Gordon Ramsey should first learn how to wear a hat, mask and gloves when cooking.... hygienic rules #1. then maybe he can open his mouth again to talk shit about others LOL
@Fuert Neigt As someone who was homeless for two years, you don't know what you're talking about. When you're starving and cold, this would be considered gourmet.
When I saw the three choices for burgers, and say him buying only one, I was like, “Oh… He’s gonna only try one.” So imagine my excitement when I saw him going back to the machine 😂
Imagine having that near your house and as a student that's always late That would be a blessing because my mom cooks 3-5 dishes in the morning and that means I'd have to eat it all up..Growing up in an asian household it's impossible to skip breakfast
@@ES-nq8uu It is trust and etiquette of the Japanese. How about you face the truth instead of being denial? In the US here, all the places have security cameras, even security officers but thefts and armed robberies keep happening. Recently, there are serial bank robberies as my County and the security officers couldn't do anything. If they wanted, they could just wear a hood or a mask and the security cameras can't do a thing since by the time the officers got there, the perpetrator would be gone. A woman in my city was killed in front of a supermarket by purse snatchers even though there are tons of security cameras there, they even showed the footage on the News. A electronic store with security cameras was broken into and tons of goods was stolen. All of those things and my city is still considered low crime rate.
@@ES-nq8uu America is numer 1 at being the most disrespectful people gtfo of here me son go jump on your high horse to the greatest land of them all shit hole America
Honestly, these japanese vending machines are the best thing to watch when you eat plain buttered toast. It brings more flavour into your mouth and fools your brain. Everytime yi eat buttered toast, this is where I go lmao.
