First time I’ve seen it on a stick. Around here it’s breaded and fried and you can find them in certain gas stations and almost every local restaurant

Breaded and deep fried is the way to go man. Most grocery stores sell them in the hot food service areas. At least in Kansas City they do.

LOL this is so funny. I figured when you mentioned you were in China town for them it might not be exactly what Quint imagine when he suggested ranch as a side. Maybe next time you visit your dad in Florida you need to drop by a rural gas station or a Salems Fresh Eats drive through and get some southern style gizzards. They are battered and fried and really good with ranch and buffalo/hot sauce. The heart is the chewiest one so if thats all you got on the skewers i understand the chicken bubble gum comparison. The different pieces are a more palatable texture. lol

Ive been eating fried chicken gizzards from my local Churches Chicken for 30+ years. Goes great with fried okra and a large red cream soda. 😋 (the newer churches dont carry them) used to include the gizzard, heart and liver.

Sean this how we do it in the south. Take your tenderizer mallet smash them. Do not tear them apart just tenderizer them cook them slow, then add onion gravy. Continue to cook the slow and they will fall apart. Go to a soul food place and order them tell them act what i told you !

When I make them, I soak them in buttermilk, then put in seasoned flour and deep fry them.

When I owned a bar I always soaked them or an hour in water and baking soda, then pressure cooked them for a bit and then breaded and deep fried. Sooooooooo goooooooooood and very tender.

I love gizzards. There is a place in Battle Creek, MI that sells stewed gizzards over red beans and rice. They are delicious.

There is a way to make them super tender its like old timer jewish food way. You boil them with spices for about 2 hr then change water low simmer in water with a bunch of seasoning for about 12 hr then drain saute in a bunch of fried onions and season it well its soft and tender once you get it soft you can do anything with it and its amazing you can fry it you can grill.... I wish it was more popular this technique because when its chewy its horible

The shoes are pure FIRE 🔥. I’m smelling a rat however in regards to the skewered gizzards. “I” think you brought the shoes with you to Chinatown, asked the chef to chop em up, deep fry em, skewer em, & THATS what we saw you eating. No chicken involved whatsoever.
