I remember eating that and that night I felt those things were jumping inside my stomach and intestines. It was so ticklish but I couldn't scratch it....I just kept laughing. It kept me up all night. I tried drinking hot water to kill it but that didn't work and finally I down 2 beers and drowned it, fell asleep and woke up next morning feeling amazing
Tried it for the first time three weeks ago when I landed in Thailand in order to fly to Vietnam. It was a wierd feeling but tasted good. Sadly I thought I was ready for Thai spice... I was not. Only ate half of it before I had to tap out. Had some Leng Saeb before and though that was spicy but ok... it had nothing compared to the spices on the little scrimps. :'D
It’s one thing to sell something crazy like this, it’s another thing to buy it and actually want to eat it. I wonder that type of people are consuming this

The citric acid dissolves the proteins in the shrimps bodies. They’re “dancing” because they’ve essentially been dropped in a vat of acid, suffocating and liquifying at the same time
