You guys might be wondering, why is the name of Wendy's in Japan having a "First Kitchen" underneath it or even hearing Japanese people calling Wendy's not as Wendy's but as First Kitchen? Wendy's Japan acquired First Kitchen from Suntory back in 2016, and seeing that First Kitchen has a similar type of menu with Wendy's, they just combine them together.
Thank you I was wondering that while I was in Japan. I thought it was because our slogan here is old fashioned hamburgers and that would confuse Japanese since hamburgers haven’t been a part of their cuisine for so long so they would just use a different slogan.
Years ago, there was this one Wendy's that was out of state that I went to that had some self serve "salad bar" that included a taco bar and a pasta bar. I only went to it twice when they still had those things in there.
@@Imaslutforpuns Heh. I used to have to maintain the salad bar at the one I worked at, until they got rid of it. A bit of a pain, really. And we always put the salad in the lid rather than the tray, because it was deeper. We didn't have the hot bar, though, just the salad bar.
Every time I see a video about American fast food in Asia, I'm a bit jealous. I don't eat fast food much, but the Asian countries put so much more effort into it. In America, their idea of an exciting new product is to take an old version and put bacon on it. It's boring. But over there, it's interesting.
Me Too! I live on the WestCoast of Canada and the fast food is always sad and looks nothing like the photos. Japan fast food actually looks Fantastic!@@zeusapollo8688
What these American chain places are doing that open in other countries is tweaking dishes, adding dishes to satisfy the local pallets. A few foodie you tubers say that Jamaica has the best KFC.
Agreed! So much better choices that I fail to believe wouldn't do well in North America. I would eat fast food way more if they had rice dishes, curries, etc.
Because you pay much more for fast food in Asia. The median income in Japan is roughly 1/2 that of the US, so consider they're paying the equivalent of $22 for a burger meal.
the mini pancakes are actually a dutch specialty known as ''poffertjes'' they are usually served with molten butter and powdered sugar on top, Japan enjoys serving dutch dishes from time to time.
I would have said the same. Poffertjes! 😋 Always delicious. But I wouldn't eat them soaked in soft serve. Just with the regular powder sugar and maybe a little bit of butter.
Thank you so much for these videos. I’ve been following the channel for years and as someone who has social anxiety, the videos help me when I wanna visit somewhere, especially with no music and simple straightforward commentary. Thank you so much and I know lots of people feel the same as me ❤
Yes I love that they don't add music to the background! So many channels I watched for the asmr aspect have since put music in the background so I have to mute them now.
Every video at an international version of an American fast food chain makes me feel like we're getting ripped off! Do they have any idea how much more people would eat at these places if we had that kind of quality and selection?
@@illfaytedi really think it's bc of the culture around fast food over here in asia, in the states, at least from what my friends tell me, fast food is just something people get without much thought. Over here though, fast food is seen as a thing reserved for special occasions, and maybe it's because of that culture that the quality of fast food over here is just different
lived in japan for 3 years, never went to wendys, but not surprised as it seems every other American fast food place was miles ahead of home. You did see the actual silver ware vs a plastic spork right
Heh..I used to work for the place, and this is way better than we ever had. Only thing in common seems to be the chili. I was stuck making the stuff most of the time, I can't escape it! :-)

The chicken nuggets and chili were the only items familiar to me. I almost always get the chili because it's so hearty and good, especially with their weird hot chili seasoning and some sour cream, and have a baked potato with the chili for a nice comforting meal. All the other items you tried out looked so good! KFC did the Double Down, something similar to the Wild Rock, except with fried chicken as the buns.
Random silly fact, if I remember correctly. Wendy’s in Japan is called “fakkin” (ファッキン) Which is the abbreviation for “First Kitchen”. They abbreviate the names of some places by making it the first letter of the word. For Wendy’s, first would be fa-su-to and kitchen would be ki-chi-n. Lets get fakkin 🤩
Lovely video! All the food look so interesting and I do have to say they look very tasty i would love to try the boba milk tea and of course miss beacon is adorable! You both are! Thanks to your videos Ive slowly learn to open up and try new things like candy, drinks and foods, if i like them great if i dont is ok but i least i give it a try!
Dang the Wendy's in Japan has a lot more choices than up here in Canada! (Pasta at a Wendy's?! And floats and boba teas?! Oh man that sounds good!) But I noticed that there's one side missing from the menu; baked potatoes! That or I missed seeing them. ^^; Either way I am ordering Wendy's tonight! Thanks DancingBacons!
If Wendy's has chicken seasoning for their shaker fries, you should try it if you go there again. I think you'll like it! 😊 Although, I guess it depends on what you get with them. It would clash with beef burgers, for example.
I think those steak seasoned fries are one of the best things Ms. Bacons has ever eaten with that reaction! I really rely on her facial expressions to determine how tasty something is. That being said, I prefer an unsweetened matcha 😂
As someone who used to work for Wendy's here in the US....man, Japan gets all the cool stuff. About the only thing we have in common is the chili... That said, the bunless double burger looks like an...interesting concept.
Mrs. Bacons is absolutely adorable, especially when she doesn't like something. But when she does like it ... that smile can light up the darkest cave!
I hadn't seen what was on my youtube page yet...but...i made myself some Wendy's chilli in a can and sat down scrolled to what was 1st posted today and this was the 1st actual video to watch..😂😂😂😂😂😂
People hate on Wendy's fries but they are the best "unseasoned" fast food fries out there in my opinion right next to Chik Fil a. Their burgers are also my favorite when it comes to fast food
@@berrycutepixels saying they are the worst is an exaggeration; far from being the worst. They’re better than Burger King and any place that serves lousy crinkle cut fries that are always bland. And McDonalds is just for people with a salt addiction. I mean if you’re going to say something in the worst at least provide a good reason for it. Not just some piss poor opinion because your feelings got hurt
I went to that Wendy’s when I was down there. I both expected and didn’t expect that it would be there, since ikne there weren’t American fast food everywhere other than like Mc’ds, then I found a Hardee’s and I was like yeah, it makes since Wendy’s was there. I went there before Wendy’s decided to change their fries. Can’t wait to go back though. Food was hot and tasty
wendys in japan is so good i was so hungry walking around kyoto and i wanted some american food for once and i really enjoyed the limited edition burger. it was much more fresh tasting than the american wendys
Is this the wendys in Shinjuku? I was there last week and wanted to try it but there was a long line around 10 pm, I opted for a local ramen shop around the alley instead. I did get to try the McDonald’s though and their shrimp burgers are 🔥!
Ok…… So my husband and I were dying 😂😂😂😂 at the end. The background noise of someone moving their chair, sounded like someone farting really loudly. Best video so far! 😂😂😂
When it comes to food Japan doesn’t mess around. So good 😋 I got a Wendy’s near me and It used to be pretty good years ago, but now it’s a shadow of its former self. Cold soggy fries to bland burgers that taste like they been sitting in a warmer for a while. I would rather eat McDonald’s. To be fair though the McDonalds location I go most frequently is near where I work. That location is actually pretty good. They are always busy and food is as hot and fresh as McDonald’s food can get. I have been to other McDonald’s locations that are just as bad as the Wendy’s I am talking about.
Oh Mrs Bacons recoiled at that unsweeted late and the way she did it was so cute and funny! 😂 Some of the food looked amazing while others did not, the jr burger just looked sad!
I really enjoy these videos. I work for a Japanese corporation here in the States, so I'm always curious about how things differ from American food. The food for the local Wendy's here in the States looks different from this quality-wise. It is cheaply thrown together and, most of the time, wrong. Customer service is basically nonexistent.
Japanese fast food seems much fresher for the most part and of higher quality than what we have here in the US, but I'm still a stone Whataburger kinda guy when it comes to fast food. It's a rare occasion when I eat fast food, but they will always remain my first choice. Unless I'm in Tokyo, them Mos Burger will be that first choice.
Love to see Mrs. Bacon's faces of approval. Gee, I just checked the Wendy's online menu in USA, and it doesn't include anything matcha, spaghetti or boba drinks. Different gastronomy. Thank you for sharing. And yet, I have never eaten anything from Wendy's 😂, this was good promotion for them.
I love Wendys chilli, but idk why the beans were left in. Every single one of my Japanese friends HATES beans in a non-sweet preparation. & too bad Mr & Ms Bacons couldnt try Wendys breakfast potatoes. They're thin, steak-cut & coated in rice flour before frying to make em super crunchy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
