In Brazil, people aren't expected to eat quickly to clear the table, so you can spend an entire afternoon at a steakhouse table eating and drinking at a slower pace. You can take your time as much as you want.
That's the whole reason of the card/plaque that says if you are accepting more, or not. So you can enjoy what you have at the moment in your plate, and talk with whoever you are with, enjoying your time
I don’t know if someone explained but Pão de Queijo is not made from regular wheat flour. It’s made from Polvilho that is a flour from cassava. So, Pão de Queijo is totally gluten free.

Can also be made with "tapioca sour flour" on some of the easiest recipes
Brazilians are way more humble and beautiful than what I had initially imagined... Thank you for showing this beautiful side of Brazil to the rest of the world. I also have recorded some street food videos from Brazil as well. Nice!
I had the privilege of trying Feijoada in São Paulo back in 2018 and I STILL think about that amazing dish-just a great meal to share with friends and family. All your food looked delicious!!
No joke, Brazilian food is the best in the world. They have different states, each one about the size of Texas, and each one with its own cuisine. And they are all amazing. You gotta go to ''Minas Gerais'' next. Btw, I guess that they have more kinds of fruits in that country than in the rest of the world combined, it's insane.
@@AnBarbarossa I'm originally from São Paulo but currently living in Belo Horizonte (the capital of Minas Gerais). I swear to god, the food here is simply unbelievable, one of the top reasons I'm not planning on going back. Highly recommended! The historical cities from the colonial period are also a sight to behold, and some of the best places to try the state's traditional cousine.
In Brazil, getting food is a whole social event. You eat, you drink, you talk, you laugh, make friends and discover new flavors! Ps. The waiters at the Steak House were playing with guys! 😂
Brazilians are passionate about food and the quality is generally so good! Even their snacks (called lanches) are fabulous. My favourite is Quibe. I have tried several times to make them at home in London but I'm not very good. Some places you find are called "per kilos". You take a place and fill it with a variety of foods and when you go to pay, they will weigh your plate and charge you 'per kilo'.
I enjoyed watching this video. My family moved to Brazil in 1999, and we LOVE the Brazilian food. We go back to the USA when necessary, and we always miss the Brazilian food when we're gone. This video made me laugh when you were in the steakhouse, and I almost cried when I saw the feijoada (black beans). Thanks for sharing your experience in São Paulo with us.
@@chrisandsara, I'm a 61 year old man, husband, and father of seven children. I'm not a big viewer of RU-vid, but I saw your videos about Brazil just yesterday, so I watched a couple more videos of yours today. I subscribed. Great content, very nicely put together, and downright enjoyable. Your smiles are happy and your attitudes are super. Also, I just watched your 100th video from last year. Congratulations on having 107k subscribers!
So cool! My mom’s family moved to the US from Rio de Janeiro when she was little and i so badly want to visit her home town and meet the rest of our family there for the first time. Thank you for sharing.
Just so you know why it is so hard to find a feijoada in Sao Paulo: you can only find Feijoada here on Wednesdays and Saturdays. It is one of those specific dishes that are only sold in those days, you might find them in some restaurants, but it is uncommon in Sao Paulo state.
@@chrisandsara every day of the week, 1 specific dish is servers in all of rhe restaurants, in Sao Paulo. Monday is virado a paulista, Tuesday is bife a role or dobradinha, Wednesday and Saturday is feijoada, Thursday is pasta, Friday is fish. Like, I believe 99% of the restaurants in Sao Paulo follow this. Feijoada to go is a big no. And I haven't been to a single restaurant in Sao Paulo (big or small place) with a bad feijoada.
This channel could really blow up! You two are really charismatic and funny, is great seeing you both together. And the little dog is so cute! You're respectful and I like how you do your research before presenting things. The editing is always on point too, great taste. Came randomly for the brazilian videos, but might stay for other content! Would be lovely to experience more places with you guys. 😀
Feijoada has this aspect, it´s dark but the flavour is incredible. That crunchy stuff is called Pururuca and is made of fried pork meat/skin, eat pururuca as a snack. Mix everything, farofa (made from cassava), rice, vinagrete, green cabbage and fork it.
I never heard someone calling torresmo as pururuca, perhaps this is some kind of regionalism? Anyway, pururuca is the process that makes the torresmo, hence why it is called "Torresmo à pururuca".
Impressionante como aparece Brasil em algum video no youtube e brasileiro aparece de todo lugar para ver e comentar hahaha por isso adoro nosso povo !! btw i Loved the video :) hope you guys enjoyed your time here :)))))
Brazil is a food paradise ❤ Third largest food producer in the world and second food exporter in the world behind the USA which is number one . Brazil is supposed to be in the near future the biggest of both producer and exporter. With a relatively small population for its size and potential in agriculture, Brazil is destined to be worlds basket bread 🇧🇷
Omg guys you need to come back soon to enjoy more of Brasil, including the northest region cause there's such beautiful beaches and a strong culture there. And in the steakhouse I hope you've tried chicken's heart usually the foreigns that comes here does love it! Waiting for the next videos in Brasil!
I am a Brazilian, but watching Brazil through your videos it is like another place, so much joy and fun. The excitement is all there, great job. Thanks for showing my country so beautifully. ☺️☺️
Feijoada is usually served only on wednesday and saturday on restaurants, that's why it's hard to find, it's not an everyday meal hahaha also, that crunch thing was Torresmo, it's fried pork belly. It's supposed to be super crispy to add some texture to the feijoada, but it's also eaten as an snack, with lime and beer
If you want more of the Brazilian meat experience, Chattanooga has a Brazilian restaurant. Radizio's Grill. There's one at Hamilton Place mall and one on Broad Street.
The hard thing that you had with the feijoada is Torresmo. But a bad one. There is a place called “Magia de Minas” in São Paulo where they serve a very good feijoada and an awesome torresmo. You have to try another one again =)
I’m so in love with u guys! So carismatic, and amazing way to show my country! The next time here, come to state of Ceará, theres so many beautiful beachs here, u guys gonna love it!
Although Pão de Queijo translates as Cheese Bread, it’s not actually a bread, since it’s not made of wheat flour. It’s main ingredient, apart from cheese is polvilho, which is a cassava flour.
Great video! I am going to Brazil tomorrow and it is exciting to see this video. I would love to go to São Paolo but time won't permit. The food looks so amazing! Sara, are you from New England? You sound like your are from Massachusetts even though you pronounce your r's. Ha ha! Enjoy the rest of you trip.
haha! I (Sara) am actually from Georgia/Tennessee! Not a northerner but that's funny you say that! I do talk really fast, so I think people often think I'm from the north. Enjoy your time in Brazil! It's a truly incredible country. :)
My first time watching your videos,I love that you are so Laid back and give great explanations of your experience...I live in Connecticut and I love Brazil
Hi! Thanks so much for watching and welcome to our channel! Brazil is one of our favorite places and we can't wait to go back next year (2025) so stay tuned for more videos from there! :)
I just loved this video! You guys are welcome to come back to Brazil whenever you want again! Thanks for appreciating our food and making this video. Now i'm hungry hahaha. I'm brazilian and i'm in love with the brazilian food forever and ever!
Yeah, you definitely have to eat feijoada at a restaurant…on Sunday…with a batida (or 2). 😉 Great content on Mexico and Brazil. Thanks for letting us come along!
The best feijoadas are the home made ones, but you can still find some good places. The thing you thought was chicken, it’s like a deep fried bacon. It’s crunchy and it’s delicious. And the pico de Gallo, is called vinagrete, but in São Paulo it doesn’t have salantro. The only thing I missed was the pizza. I took an American to pizza place and she loved it. São Paulo pizza is awesome and different from the American one. Loved the video! 😊
The next time you go to a steakhouse, after you're done with the meat, order grilled pineapple for dessert. it's great for digestion, and you don't come out like you ate a bull.
If you guys already liked the pão de queijo from São Paulo, I can’t even imagine how you would feel about the original one, from Minas Gerais (It’s a state near SP and Rio). I think you guys would be absolutely amused by the cheese in general… We also have beautiful countryside landscape with a lot of mountains and really great food and coffee! The amount of beautiful waterfalls is also impressing.
As a Brazilian I can say the feijoada looked fine. It's a dish best eaten in a restaurant or homemade, when your order it kinds of dries up when delivered. I hope you guys enjoyed our food! Next time come to Paraná (the state with the Iguaçu Falls) we have really nice dishes here too!

Friends, you have to come to Minas Gerais. Every restaurant in Minas Gerais serves "feijoada" on Friday. Here you will eat the best cheese bread, fantastic cheeses and the best dulce de leche in the country. They will get to know the traditional life of the interior of Brazil. Hug.
You need to give another chance to Torresmo (the food you spit). You DO NEED to try it again, lol. It's some sort of bacon with a shining knight armor! Please try it again when you come back to Brazil (with a real Feijoada. This is really not a good dish to order on delivery, even for us). Thanks for visiting and being so nice talking 'bout our country and my beloved city!
Yay we are Brazilians and randomly found you guys while watching videos about SC . So fun you guys went to Brasil and took your little fur friend along . Best of luck to you guys ! Love the videos
I had so much fun watching you guys at the stake house 😆 I used to work with Americans and Europeans all the time and churrascarias are always their favorite spot. And I need to say that the red/green card doesn’t work hahah they’re keep coming more and more meat. Glad so see you both enjoy my city 🥰
at the 23:00 you guys tried torresmo, it's basically fried pork skin. some aren't that well done and it get's really hard. when it's done right, it'll taste like those bacon chips from pepsico/elma chips.
Next time you come to Brazil, get in touch with me. I’ll take you for great experiences and great food. I live in São Paulo, very near Paulista avenue. I love to travel and experience local food with local people, and I believe you do too. I can be the local person that can take you around here. Love Tati
Chris and Sara, if you go to a Brazilian Steak House, go with a local, so you can avoid rookie mistakes. The restaurant owners are smart enough to seduce you in food-traps.
Just a heads up for you guys, that little fried thing that came with the feijoada its called "torresmo". thats pork belly deep fried. its an appetiser.
Goiabada made from goiaba fruit. Goiaba is guava in English. Farofa is made from maniic root. A wonderful "gift" of thr native peoples. From it u get tapioca, can be cooked, fried etc.
