In this video we review the wastegate included in the eBay k20 RSX turbo kit! This is an EMUSA wastegate and the condition seems to be okay and I guess well find out for sure when we test it!

Thank you for producing this video. I bought a used setup that didn't come with the ring at the bottom of the wastegate. This being my first turbo car, I installed without it and have not been able to build pressure. Now I know why. Thanks again.

That’s interesting I’m currently not running one either not realizing this but I’m actually over boosting an dumping exhaust out the dump tube

I had one on an E34 525i turbo. Four years of hard driving (April to November) and it was spot on reliable.

At 5:17, the gasket will burn 100% since it's paper and won't last more than few pulls. Get a metal one.

Thats not how the wastegate works . The exhaust back pressure isnt the same as the inlet pressure . its usually much higher. The line run to the waste gate from your compressor housing pushes up on your wastegates diaphragm.

The small white spring sucks it coil binds and doesn't let the valve shut all the way💯💯💯💯😇😨🔥

Long term, no I would not reccomend. But they do work in a pinch!

So i installed my turbo my self. Your right no instructions came with the kit. So when i first installed my Watergate i didnt install that metal round flange that you put in before install. My dump pipe was loud after installing the ring it got quiet. Is that normal.?

Lunatikz Garage if you are referring to the fire ring then yes, it would be really loud without it. Be warned though, the fire ring that came with the kit eventually broke into pieces and fell out, so we had to machine a new one out of steel.

you can definitely go lower than the wastegate spring that's why you hook up a boost controller

boostedzx2zetec we didn't have the boost controller set up yet. I'm fairly certain, even with a boost controller, the boost cannot be lower than the waste gate spring.

You can go lower PSI with a 4 port boost controller. It’s how a lot of import drag cars run boost by gear on 40-60psi. Technically you can’t use a spring smaller than 30psi if you run 60psi. But a 4 port controller allows you to use the 30 pound spring to only open at 10psi

Yeah its doing great! Only wastegate issue we've had is the fire ring breaking into a million pieces. We machined a new one and it's been perfect ever since (10 ,000km ago).

Why is youre turbo complety upside down 😂😂😂 is the motor fliped or somthing am i not seeing it right or what but it looks like youre oil drain is on the top of youre turbo

teggy ls that's just how the turbo came clocked. This is obviously just after it was mounted and before we adjusted it.
