Jake loves when he can help his competition compete away his profits and sourcing. Good luck finding AirPods for much longer from your casinos. I appreciate you man but I would never start a business with you and Coke would never trust you with their recipe. 😂
@@JrideFlips That’s not how things work brother. You seem to discount the basic driver of price discovery. Supply and demand. Are the people closing their pallet stores eating at your table? The ones closing shop because of all the competition? How about storage lockers? Are they anywhere near as a viable source as they once were? No they aren’t. Have you read Zero to One? This isn’t something just you are getting wrong. It’s everyone in the content creation sphere. You all talk to each other. You don’t talk to the tens of thousands of people leaving reselling in the last year. You can do whatever you want of course. But to believe market saturation isn’t a thing is wishful thinking.
@@JrideFlipsI appreciate your channel…it’s great to see some new content creators dispelling all the previous misguided advice of the past . There’s plenty of meat left on the bone when you do business ethically and intelligently instead of riding rogue waves.
Teach me your secret to Posh. I shared 75 listings, only 2 sold! I just took my closet down...if I got one more notification that i "should reach for the stars" or "sparkle" I was going to burn the platform down to the ground. Also The $5 offers on $65 items was oh so lovely. Did I mention posh sucks???!!!!
I used to sell on posh , I had over 70k followers. I wouldnt take low offers . I figured out that once you do ...people will see your items sold at low prices and will assume you sell at cheap prices. Its best to share others listing so they can share your items back . I dont do posh anymore. I shut my store down .. once you do that you will have to start all over to rebuild. I do pretty good with market place at the moment. I want to go back into ebay but im wanting to go bigger now and have more listings .
Man you’re a really great. I started reselling 7 months ago. Just started watching you recently and it’s really put a lot of ideas in my head. You are an awesome person and I won’t stop watching. Id love to ask you some questions as well sometime. You’re the best .
Glad to hear your recovery is going so well. Really appreciate all your content I just started just under 2 weeks ago, and passed $1,000 in sales today. I have been watching tons of reseller content, you are by far my favorite and I believe the most informative and aligned with how I think a business should be run. Keep up the great work, wish the best for you and yours.
Glad you are back and recovering nicely 😊! Thanks for sharing your story with us! I am always learning something new and trying to get fast moving items! I found boys Timberland boots for $3.50 and sold in 5 days for $41 with shipping! Also portable heaters sell good, Honeywell used, $3 sold for $30 with shipping, took 2 to 3 days to sell! It all ads up! Have a great week 👍 😀! Joe Bee 🐝 from 🇨🇦 🍁 🇨🇦 Canada!
Good to know your surgery went well. I only sell a few days a month at the start of the month on ebay but decided to open an additional day near the end of the month. That day I had much higher sales in one day than I have had in two years. That was due to volume not a few high dollar items.
Glad you are back from surgery. Listen to your doctor, and don't overdo. I have such a new approach to buying inventory from your discussions on sell-through-rate(STR). I have listed some items that I had that have a 80+ STR and the sales are happening!!
Welcome back, Jake! January has been fantastic for me, 100% increase over last year. Your info and suggestions have been very helpful and I am getting closer to listing on Mercari so your plan to expand is a great reinforcement. Thanks for including us in your (J)ride.
Nice, very helpful, I was your first follower on Mercari.. I also have been cross listing on eBay posh and Mercari based on your recommendations so thanks for that. Posh is a lot different and challenging. So many notifications of followers.. 😂
Glad your better and back! I love Mecari. I sell more on that platform than all put together. They have the sellers back unlike the bay. Clothing is slow to sell on there though unless your giving it away. I have tons of nice name brands with tags and they are not moving and priced low. My sales have sucked in January but I'm hopeful things will pick up for me. Love your Vid. Thanks for all you do. Stay well!
Loving your videos, Jake! I'm glad your surgery went well and that you are on the road to recovery. Have you heard any rumours about Mercari coming to Canada any time soon?
You are looking good. I’m glad you are feeling better. I do monthly delist and relist on Mercari. I am a clothing reseller. I want to try to keep my listings closer to the top. You can’t leave it and forget it. Just my recommendation.
Watched the video where you mentioned surgery in the future. Didnt notice how old it was. I was surprised you're already done with it. What's the expected full recovery time?
I feel like Ebay limits how many sales I can get. Even with sending out aggressive offers once I hit a certain threshold sales halt. I can slowly increase each month but nothing I do will "blow up" my sales.
That’s awesome. I was an only eBay person for a long time but I’m telling you he’s right about mercari. It’s worth at least cross posting some imo just copying and pasting or eBay listings basically I
Mercari is great! On week three of selling, and went there because eBay was limiting me to 10 listing a month. I cross listed everything on Mercari, and have been continuing to list. Tomorrow when it’s February 1st I’ll cross list 10 from Mercari to eBay. So far 4 sales there! The platforms are very similar, which making it so easy. I’m definitely heading over to Poshmark soon! So glad to hear that the surgery went well! Take it easy!
Hi! Any chance we could get a video on how to ship small kitchen appliances? Especially coffee makers with the glass pot? I am having the hardest time finding one, and I want to be able to ship them safely. If you've already demonstrated this, please point me to the video. Thanks so much!
My sales are through the roof only 100 items listed but the 77 sold and the first weeks of January I have a full-time job I wouldn’t be able to keep up with more than this
Are you willing to spend a bit more on an item if the sell through rate is higher? Thanks to you I didn’t swet bidding more because the sell through was 75% so I sold that item within a week.
Have you tried using the eBay 'promote your item' feature (2% minimum) about half my sales are promoted compared to organic. Also, listing a few items each day seems to boost the traffic report (impressions/views). Hope this helps.
Just started eBay about to hit my second month! I’m focusing only on eBay, than do exactly what you do, so far 180 items sold and I’ve made 6k!!! I’m listing 5 quality items everyday and 250 listed
It's their own fault. Ebay was working fine until they imposed extortionate fees. Who's going to want to sell at a loss. Plus no one negotiates on ebay anymore and your best offers for your items are ignored. You'd be as well to sell your items to cash converters or a second hand shop.
This is my best month ever and it's my first time hitting 10k reselling. That's after fees & ship. I'm gearing up for February, though. Last year February was my worst month so I'm ready to accept lots of offers
Ebay just isn't enough anymore. I started selling on Mercari when they first rolled out and did great. But what I've noticed is that items don't sell for as much profit as I can get on ebay. Do you list stuff for lower prices on Mercari compared to ebay?
Posh i adjust prices there. Don't sleep on their shipping. They will gladly buy a gaming system for 10-15 more if that means they can save on the shipping that can be 20-25 and no returns after 3 days is sweet!
Dude. I have been watching your videos for a while now, trying to learn from your success. Only now am I learning you have employees! What else haven't you disclosed that would be beneficial to someone interested in learning how to create a business such as yours?
Sales in January will be down for nearly ev everyone every year. December is the peak and then there is a drop off. It's completely normal and to be expected.
15 items a day and you have a employees? No disrespect but 15 items is like an hours worth of work a day, isnt employees for that little of a store silly?
Happy to hear your surgery was a success and that you are healing really good. Love all the information that you give. Unfortunately, I have been delayed starting to sell because of live-in girlfriend issues but I will eventually get there.
What's the difference between eBay sales and resells? Edit: 👆 My old comment here. Month old at the time of edit. That's when I got exposed to the idea of eBay being a potential source of income. Didn't know the difference, lol.
