EBC TREK P7: 38 MILES in 4 DAYS To Get BACK To LUKLA | Kala Patthar Sunrise Hike

Hiya Guys,
We hope you are doing okay 😊
Having just reached Everest Base Camp (in our previous video) we now have the 38 mile trek back down to Lukla. Starting at Gorakshep which is at 5,100m asl we decide to go out at 4AM to climb to 5,560m on Kala Patthar to watch the sunrise over Mt Everest in -20°. This was for sure an experience!! After this the next 4 days treking back down to 1,800m asl was filled with major highs and lows, epic views and some amazing memories with an incredible group of legends!

So you missed the spectacular High Scenic Trail via Phortse on the way up. Why did you not hike it on the way back either? Why twice via Tengbcohe. Lack of imagination? Or map reading skills?

I know right. It does show that we can all get by without all the luxuries that we have each day. For a week or so anyway 😅 Haha! The next big thing on our list is Kilimanjaro. Were hoping to climb it next Feb all going well 🤞🏻😀 How about you, are you still hoping to do EBC? Or has the 13 days without a shower put you off 😉

How many older people were doing the trek? Like 60yrs 🙈

Age is very much just a number. The oldest (tourist) we came across was 72 and one of our porters was 63. We came across groups of all ages throughout our trek. It is very much about how you are physically & mentally rather than been born in a certain year. I hope this helps you. I'm sure you have got this 👍🏻

Hey guys, well what an engagement piece; massive difference in viewer retainment and eagerness to find out more. It is the editor that creates the story and I can see you have both put in so much effort behind the camera. I reckon add more 'local' information that the guides and websites omit such as best time to visit the EBC, what to bring / wear (prepacking video), taking lip balm and of course the pillowcase situation. All these things are super valuable and only someone who has been there done that can mention. I love the natural vulnerability of you Hannah and the arch you gave us in your emotions and energy, very reminiscent of a ‘human’ rather than a character for online purposes. Nathan I can see more a relaxed state of being in the whites of your eyes which makes me like watching you more and more. Well done both, such an achievement, both should be SO happy with yourselves with such a great buck-list done. What is next?

We are planning on providing information videos when we have a quiter time with editing and when everyone has had a break from our EBC Trek videos 😂 Next, we are off to Belgium (Brussels) in Claudia very very soon so that we be a nice little vanlife break and somewhere that has been on for a long time 🌏 We were suppose to go in 2020 for my birthday and we rescheduled it 4 times before cancelling it 🙈 The biggest thing that we are looking forward to this year though is seeing you guys 🥰🇦🇺 x
