Baba Simoni Ayelabowo is very right. He has always been very punctual. I had the opportunity of playing with him btw 1997/1998 when we were together in Mr. Akin Atoki (Honey Makers) led inter reformers band. Baba Ayelabowo will always be one of the first to get to any show. There was never a dull moment with him at all. Whenever he sets his eyes on me, he will use his drum to welcome me by drumming "Olusegun aja segun, kaabo se daada lode" 😂😆😂 Mr. Dele Coker took me to join the band as a bassist. Im now the leader of Osta Tee & De-Merciful Band. Mr. Ayelabowo's favourite quote anyday anytime is "Modupe lowo Olorun"..... Im happy for him. He is very creative.

Baba Simoni made some very salient points regarding his time in the inter-reformers band - bitter sweet it seems, but, mainly his interview was balanced, and I admire his openness by accepting that the band members especially - talking drummers inadvertently made some of the great Juju band leaders adopt some of the divide and rule style of leadership they exerted within the ranks of their bands. It reminds me of the saying, ‘ you cannot clap with one hand’ or it ‘takes two to tango’. Great interview!

I'm thanking Dele Adeyanju for bringing all these talented veterans' band boys from great musicians in Nigeria. I'm one of compulsive fans of Ebenezer Obey band and late Ayinde Barrister. Please, if you can bring other veterans, like Sunday, Fadugba, Francis Aluko, and others. We will be appreciate.

Yes, in the beginning there was word, and the word is God. Baba Ebenezer Obey, will rather talk than actions. He is also, a disciplinary man and very funny. He loved, what does, believed in it and makes it happened. Baba Obey is also a family man, and a good Father, that took care of his people.

Baba simoni my mentor, baba is very respectful, it's not easy, so part of his stories almost get me emotional, this interview really lifts my spirit that no matter the hard times we passing through, it shall surely pass and we shall come out victorious, imagine someone that has gone to America , Uk and Europe and want to commit suicide😢 I pray you live long in good health baba simoni, ipade wa bii oyin lagbara Oluwa, i know God's grace i'll meet you one day soonest ❤

The interview was very well conducted. Mr. Simoni Ayelabowo spoke factually, The only aspect not clear to me is that, he stressed that he had virtually nothing when he was with Obey, but later stated that he purchased a Datson 120Y car (2nd hand) for his father as of the time he was with Obey. Can someone without money buy a car for his dad ?

In what Mr Simoni said about money sharing, i think the problem is with the management because they have the last say. After giving Commander his own percentage, the rest will be shared by the management who are not truthful about it. It's not really Commander's fault.

These band boys, they bite more than they can chew in the sense that they have a harem of women and father so many children that is difficult for them to raise with the pittance they get from the band. Summarily, they cannot make ends meet and they end up blaming the band leaders as the reason for their woes.

Baba Ebenezer Obey is a human being, and everybody has his/ hers one or two things. No one is perfect except God. I believed Commander, is not exceptional because every party, ceremony will not be the same. Thank you for being truthful and honest. Am glad, you said it out that Commander is not brutal but the gang members like the managers, captains and emergency ogas.

From what he has said, the band is divided into 2 because some were having cars, living well and other category not well treated. Another thing from the interview, Obey did not have much say even Alhaji Mutiu was doing as he wanted yet had big boys following and living well. I want to believe it was funded from money he paid. Grace pass grace smoking for 50years and still counting but someone will play few days and have cancer, no copy copy in life o😂.
