Segun Awe was on Agbaletu in 2018 and his interview opened up revelations. Baba Commander came on to respond and a settlement was reached. Segun Awe knelt and begged Commander. 5 years down the line, Segun insists he joined Inter-reformers band in 1973 and not 1974. He insists he was a guitarist before joining Inter-reformers band and he also maintained he never led any coup in the band among others.

Mr. Segun Awe should rest. He has really exhausted all avenue to express his grievances with Chief Commander. I have watched about 5 to 6 different interviews on same issue. Obey was already made many years before you joined his band, and after you left in 1979, he still went on to released many evergreen songs without you. Its obvious that you can never form a threat for him even if you form your own band. He should also stop undermining Late Monday John work. Nobody will listen to Board member album and tell me Monday only use guiter to hymn songs. Monday was a fantastic guitarist and I can bring about 10 songs in early 70's with a superb guiter work from him.

Mr Dele Awe is very factual and blunt A highly talented and versatile guitarist. He changed the tempo of Chief Ebenezer Obeyy music. Another excellent interview by the master interviewer himself God bless you Agbaletu

Hate him,or love him.. Segun,is just being himself and bluntly honest... unfortunately,in our society, being principled, is most times seen as a sign of insolence or being disrespectful...my, submission therefore, is that prosterity will adjudge us all.. great interview..Dele..the Lord is your strength brother.. keep it up 💪👍👌

Segun Awe you can't bring baba Obey down
@omobomiemmanueladebowale6143
Mr. Segun Awe is talented and fearless. His problem is mentorship. He would have served under someone like Fela and be tamed rightly. I love his openness.

You don't need to trash Obey 'cos you are no more with him. Obey is a fine man either you like it or not.
@clementgeorge2015
It's obvious that Segun Awe is not as straightforward as he wants people to believe,he went to reconcile with Obey years ago but now he's still bearing grudges against him. I'm not interested in who was right or wrong, bygone should be left as bygone.
@princedele3355
Listening to the humility of Chief Obey talking about Mr.Awe during his interview and comparing it with Mr. Awe's arrogance and lack of respect to his boss in this interview says it all. There's more to life ( co- existence) than talent. He just doesn't have it and I am sure it had affected him one way or the other in his life.
@Plantedworksinc
I met Mr Awe years back while conducting an interview for him on his music experiment called Afritonas….He has always been a blunt and fearless man..I think Nigerians do not like people who say it the way it is.I have not seen anywhere in this interview where this man undermined his boss..Agbaletu thank you for being professional in allowing him do more of the storytelling than interrupting him..Segun Awe’s memory of events and how they happened is really unbelievable..Finally Ekiti people don’t know how to keep somethings private when the truth seems to have been manipulated so the need to understand the harshness in his delivery..A musical genius still!!Brilliant job Agbaletu!!❤❤
@oluomoagbala235
Mr. Awe is highly talented and I believe him.
@deleodugbemi2247
Even after Segun left Commander Ebenezer Obey's band, the great legend still remains the superstar till today.
@ademikanlubabajide1365
This interview is so touching because of the frankness of Mr Segun Awe. His gift and love for Commander is still obvious. Thanks for the interview Agbaletu!
@akin551
There's a difference between being truthful, fearless and being arrogant.
@olatunjiakinpelu7799
No Artist can speak honestly like this man, Very Bold and Honest.... I am enjoying the interview,
@tundeoyeyiga
With due respect, I would like to recommend a book called 48 Laws of Power to Mr Segun Ewe. There is a particular law " Never outshine your Boss.
@richrich6950
This man is very good in music and has a good memory, is a straight forward person
@akataman7319
Mr. Segun Awe came to Lagos almost the month and year I was born 😂😂😂
@adisashaffi2660
The truth is bitter, Ebenezer Obey is some what wicked to some of his band boys, according to some his members.
@StressRelieverJoint-mx7ki
Whenever an interviewee speak from the heart it turns out to be very engaging and great!
@DjChrisRocka
The Old Ekiti Spirit Of Fairness and Truth often misconstrued as “agidi”/stubbornness/arrogance. I love this man’s refusal to be cowed by his detractors. Even the Chief Commander could not bend him
