I am 6' 1" tall. The suspension is adjustable though so you should be fine. A pack this big needs to be properly loaded though to carry well on anybody. It is really tall and almost hits when I walk through a door frame. It'll hold lots of supplies though yes. Thanks for the support!
Good review. Thanks. I watched this review before finally picking up the battleship. I just got back from a 10 day bighorn hunt using it and, except for the fact I didn't get to carry a boned out sheep in it, I have no complaints.
I have one of these and it is a great pack. I like having the option of extra room for winter gear or a longer trip out. If you dont need the room you can just cinch down the straps. So far it has held up great after a couple of years.
I've changed my system around much since this video so I won't have one with this bag. I'll have another one instead. Not sure when I'll get around to it actually, I've got to reorganize first.
Photo314159 Curious why you've moved on from the V90. Obtaining it in recent months myself (the final nudge being your superb in-depth review here), it seems to tick the right boxes and has been out on multiple long hikes / camps now with full gear (often loading up with considerable water weight to trial its handling), with a lengthy overseas usage coming up. In today's uber compact and light backpack trend, the V90 is an abomination in many other people's eyes, and moving to this after dabbling with lightweight packs for a while myself, the sheer physicality of the V90 was odd at first - but apart from an extra two kilograms or so base weight compared to a lot of simpler high capacity packs, its various features seem to accomodate outdoor living better. If I had to suggest any tweeks for civilian usage (my use) it wouldn't be much. On a side note, the side mesh pockets on the V90 now come in a shade that (in some strengths of lighting) exactly matches the chosen colour of the pack.
I was thinking of maybe getting a big bag like this and using a motorcycle as a bug-out vehicle. I'd prefer a bike over a car as it's more maneuverable, however the bike would need to be very reliable and able to handle a lot of weight.
That pack looks really good. It's a lot better compared to your previous pack and you can easily store a lot more items in it. May I ask how tall you are? It seems to fit you really well and I'd like to get this, but I'm only 5'10, so it may be too big for me.Also, I'm assuming it's waterproof? To me, that bag looks like the type of bag that you grab and don't plan on returning for a long period of time, like weeks. Subscribed also!
Funny, I just watched your ILBE review. I wish I would'a seen this first though. Only a pound, maybe a bit heavier, and bottom MOLLE a plus. Not exactly missing the MARPAT either. Zipper pulls are smaller. Hip belt looks like a couch. Good LID feature with hidden pocket. Over-all, beautiful bag and nice competitor to the ILBE since seems to surpass philosophy of use. Looks just as bomb-proof but who cares 'cause this is nice. Pack material moves like its lighter, less durable though, so why overall a heavier pack. I think after spending $80 for ILBE the only thing to scare me away from this might be the price. Suggestions regarding sellers would be appreciated.
This pack is much bigger and has a expedition style harness. Very comfy. The price is the same pretty much everywhere, but they have this awesome dry earth color. It's a lighter fabric of course, but still more rugged than any backpacking pack. 1000 denier all over would make this weigh a ton, lol. The lightest fabric on this pack is like the heavy bottom panel on a traditional expedition pack.
+Mathew Moldovan I am not. It was bigger than I needed and took up too much space in my apartment. Once I had everything in it I wanted to carry I still had lots of empty space.
+jameswc47 Yes I'm sure, Dry Earth. The best color IMO. I will say if you ordered from Optics Planet, good luck getting the right color though. Their pictures didn't match their color names.
Hey man, great review on the pack, would love to see how far you've come with the ultimate bug-out bag, did love your blackhawk bug-out bag with lots of great ideas. Hope to see a new video of this one soon though.
+Photo314159 Hello Sir, May I ask what's your height ? I'm also planning to buy between v69 and battleship. I might look like carrying a cabinet if I choose the wrong one :D . BTW I'm only 5'7.
