I haven't seen any statements saying exactly why Eberron work is going to end ... WotC's recent actions likely weren't the only reason he has decided to step away.

@@eberron_arch Let's not kid ourselves, there's something odd going on with licencing stuff for D&D. WotC may have suffered a setback but I very much doubt they have truly admitted defeat. Only mechanics is in the creative commons not intellectual property and WotC unfortunatly owns Eberron. They also are likely going to have very diffrent rules for the new Dm's guild equivalent, not to mention their in house VTT. Also reading between the lines of things that have been said going back at least as far as Exploring Eberron, it's clear KB and WotC has had very diffrent visions for the future of Eberron for quite some time.

​​​​@@eberron_archKeith was pretty clear about his reasons. He invests a lot into Eberron, but he will never have creative control nor the freedom to create whatever he wishes. And, since he has to publish through DM's Guild, he receives significantly less financial return for his hardwork. He will continue supporting Eberron via his website, but sadly the above factors have killed KB Presents. Threshold became Quickstone because Keith decided to keep much of the Threshold, including even the name, for his own, future gaming material. The town was renamed Quickstone, and the scope of the project has understandably narrowed. I understand Keith's decision and support him; but it's definitely disappointing to know that we won't be seeing any more of these outstanding books.

I have no plans to stop. There's so many old books, miniatures and other bits of ephemera that I want to be documented, even without looking at all of the vast amounts of lore.

Keith recently (like last week) said he is nearly done Frontiers and expects it to come out this year...

It was in the most recent Manifest Zone podcast, which hasn't been posted yet I don't think. The recording was streamed live though, which is how i heard the news.
