I respect Ebro for this interview. .. he understands the vision, he's actually apart of it. However, he allow these young men to explain and express thier intentions of this project. I can't be believe It, he actually shut his fucking face and allowed these men to talk. It shows that he actually cares about the support rather than making this interview all about the way he feels... hats off sir.
You right but be for real, even if he wasn't he know these are not the guys to be hushing and over talkin. Can you imagine if you angered Mo? Mild mannered cats are the worst to piss off.
Money & Violence is a great web series! Support these guys. We have to help them get to the next level. It's good that they are doing what their doing. It's inspiration.
The director is extremely educated and articulate in his responses. The rest of the crew, not so much. Maybe they should leave the press to him.Just a thought. I will check out the show though.
you have to take into consideration .. that they AREN'T actors, they are reality .. the true depiction of the hood .. maybe if you don't like the fact of the lack of education and articulation, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT ... to help the youth .. don't complain about it if you aren't helping to fix the issue
HBO is really in particular about thier shows, in fact...it'll be a whole new show. If so....Most likely deffinetly the intended effect.. more entertaining, less motivational.
If HBO gets it they're definitely getting rid of all the cast maybe keep the main dude because he seems smart enough to get better at acting but make it a smaller role.
Its all about What's negotiated if HBO picks it up that can't just take it over unless dude give them complete control which be stupid business is all about negotiations
Did Ebro just plug the fact that he jumped on the show coz "it's the hottest thing in the hood right now". then question these dudes motives?. LOL EBRO.
I watched the whole season in 2 days - crack. I fully support these guys. Making big moves and putting their neighbourhood on. The acting may not always be A1 but the authenticity makes up for it. Salute!
I sincerely hope they successfully spread throughout the web. I'm all for their story I watch all the series to date in two days when i caught wind of them. Keep doing it!
All of the male characters were well played but Ebro's scene with Rafe (Moetivation) is some of the best acting in the in the first season. Well done...
I like the acting. And I think that people get scared when they see real urban behavior on camera, whether its urban in a white, latino, asian, or black context, people get uncomfortable with the real life of real americans in inner cities because they know NOTHING about it, thats the News' fault there. I believe that this type of misunderstanding of a person's acting is the reason that only Don Cheadle, Terrence Howard, Morgan Freeman, and Samuel Jackson ever get leading roles in movies now. If I was wrong, Mekhi Phifer would be way more famous than Marky Mark and Liam Neeson. Swear to doG, I wrote Mekhi Phifer one minute before he mentioned ER, thats not my fault.
Motivation is well spoken. Most times it is not the message that jams people up. It is the the person giving the message. If he keeps up the work people will listen.
UM YEA THESE DUDES JUS TOOK INDIE FILM ROUTE TO A WHOE NOTHER LEVEL, GOT ME FEELIN LIKE WHEN THE MIX TAPE N MIX DVD GAME WAS POPPIN IN 02-07 ... anybody thats watching n wanna create a whole sub culture to this indie film thing... these dudes is pioneering take notes. theres an ulimited supply of non mainstream actors actresses, so many programs tutorials that can get the ball jumping, watching n anaylyzing this show stirred me with many thoughts on how to take things from idea n dream to actual reality, pay attention people youre getting step by step moves on how to break into this industry
I respect it their show is pure reality. This is really what the youth of my neighborhood are going through this is the reality of inner city jungles and circumstance. This is what the kids see in real life REGARDLESS at least his show has a message. So I don't understand why some of you want them to be so politically correct when life isnt PC. Atleast with this show he has the oppurtunity to build dynamic characters that evolve out of this life or eventually find another path etc. Thats why telling our story is so important
City Of God had zillions of death, but you didn't come out of this film thinking it glamorized drug and violence. It was more an excellent illustration of the crumbling down of a community.
I was watching this interview late at night and fell asleep ,not because I was bored but just tired, Anyhow them gunshots were hella loud lol .Woke my ass straight the fuck up lmfao .They need to fix the audio for them gunshots ,they're OP compared to the rest of the audio .
yo i respect these guys and get their reason behind the title of the series. like they call it money and violence because that's what capitalism is and if they had called if capitalism how many people would have really paid attention too it ? none. i respect what it stands for and the allegory that it shows in each episode. this is their way of trying show and educate the youth and society that this is what happens in the hood and its not what they are proud of but its what they have to do to survive and the same can be said for rap music. they are sharing their stories to educate the masses that this is what happens in the real streets and u shouldn't try to do this unless no other choice . basically a satire with out the jokes instead with reality( if you know what i mean) love the work, keep it coming i am now a fan !
If what yall doing is a success the more negatives critics say is just a blessing of how much of a true success it really is. I love shows like SOA violance, sex all thee above but I don't believe that biker show will get the scrutiny yall will get. At the end of the day the image yall have and the message yall are trying to portray do not concede with today's society but the efforts to continue the positive message is the true testimony of the victory that yall can recieve.
i hope they dont sell this to any big company. ofcourse, i would make deals for money to get better equipment and more bodies, but keep making it all myself. people might be missing that it is the rawness of the production that make the real life story feel even realer. the rawness of acting, sound, and edits.
10:49 Ebro brings up a good point about non Blacks being enamored and infatuated with the image of Blacks as being violent and from the ghetto. 28:03 Having a better education or a degree doesn't mean you have 5 friends willing to hold you down, nor does it mean you can do anything. It means if you are willing to exploit the traditional route for Black excellence or achievement (entertainment via film, sports, music) and portray an image of Blacks that is palatable to the public, that there is a lane for you. Making it in rap, music, or hood movies is not proof that you can do anything you put your mind to, it's proof that you can make it in rap, music, or hood movies.
Rafe is true--eventhough it has money and violence it is very informative--in other words it teaches u the streets --- actually this can save lives--real talk
Yo we need brother like reef because if I had bro like that dropping jewels like that l me somewhere butter in life God Bless please do season 2 God Bless thank me very much and God Bless the whole crew
Shouts to the whole Money & Violence team! Great storyline, don't even remotely listen to Ebro. He always want to see positivity and all that other shyt...but, what is he doing to advance us...positively? Thot 97, promotes negative music all day every day. Fuggouta hurr!
Yo how is anybody hating on deh yuts doing production. .iam pushin it all the way in BMORE.. #reality relate stop dis hate a story of reality intertwined
i hate alot of interviewers like ebro when someone is talking they be feeling themselves so much they feel the need to talk over that person and we don't get to hear from the people we come tune into to hear from
Bottom line they are young black men doin somethin with themselves I commend them for that. People in the comments complaining about their depiction of their reality. Stfu it's reality
Hot show! It will be picked up by a major. As far as the "glorification of negative scenarios", I get where Mo is coming from. It's not glorifying street life. Check Jerry Springer...he gives you 55mins of ratchet shit so he can drop some knowledge on you in his "Final Thought". In order to get the masses to pay attention, you give them what they want and slip them what they need...
money and violence those who live it recognise big up the creator these man be spitting some all school game real code of the streets shit that shit thats not been taught to these youths coming up
Very talented cats. Keep it up. Great show. I just hate when people label any work from african american people. Nobody questioned the Terminator when Arnold killed a whole station of cops. If the terminator was black it would have been the worse thing since 911. You guys to a great job. God Bless.
