2024 marks 60 Years since the British Rail Class 14 were introduced into traffic. At the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway they celebrated 60 Years by having not one, not two but seven Class 14 at the railway! Six of them were running over Gala!
The day of my trip to Gala as well as my first time visiting the Ecclesbourne Valley’s was a day that just kept getting more exciting and more interesting! Took some amazing shots at Idridgehay Station, ride on a Class 122 “Bubble Car” from Wirksworth to Ravenstor. Which is near National Stone Centre. Another amazing location to film and watch train climbing the 0.5 miles gradient up to Ravenstor! The best bit of the Gala was towards the end. Where all 7 Class 14 were put together to make a  cavalcade train! What a way to celebrate 60 Years! Even British Rail Class 47, D1842 “Basil” made an appearance at the Gala as well! She pull the 8 carriages train to Duffield Station where the cavalcade started!
This Anniversary Gala was one of the best ones that I have been to so far! Great job on all the teams at the Ecclesbourne Valley for putting on a brilliant Class 14 Gala!
