This bad boy was stored for an unknown amount of time on end, it didn't do it any favors.
It almost ran, it idled for a moment but bogged a LOT if it got any gas.
We replaced the carb, fuel lines and plug on a guys Echo. Don't usually fix other peoples equipment but I made an exception, it's Fall and I can't leave someone without a decent blower, wouldn't be right :-)

That model is prone to having a bad coil every now and then. I've had 2 of them go out on me on 2 blowers. I have no problem putting aftermarket carbs on, gets them up and running again and you can rebuild the original carb at your leisure. I've had real good luck with the Hipa brand. JMHO, your mileage may vary!!

The Echos definitely go through more coils than other brands, dunno why, but I see it too. I am not a HIPA fan myself. They are ok, but the base adjustment they start with is usually too far out for the average homeowner to figure out.

Great video, quick question, how do I change the spark arrestor on my gas powered hand held Echo blower PB - 2520

Getting to it is the hard part. Sometimes you can get a long skinny Phillips(or Torx, depending on the year) through the holes in the case but usually, you have to take the cover off. If your machine doesn't run rich you shouldn't need to bother with it, but if it's clogged it could(not often) slow the top end down on your blower, it's usually a carb adjustment though. I can honestly say I have never bought one, I clean them with a wire brush and put them back in if they are clogged. After that I will lean it out a bit so it stops clogging. (I have to say this part, and you probably already know it but I get called out when I don't cover all the bases🙄🤣) The spark arrestor is the little screen held in by 2 screws on the outside of the muffler and is intended to help prevent fires.

Amazon. When you get a carb, make sure you have the old one next to you when ordering and visually compare every detail.

Did you do any adjustments on the carb? I have some high low knobs I think I touched and my blower bogs down after a while then doesnt start easy after it was running

It might be a carb adjustment, but it sounds like a coil overheating If you can get it started, adjust the L screw(closest to the motor) until it idles nicely, Then the H screw until it revs well

Thanks. Lots of people visiting here are working on their personal machine so I try to show them the best way to get it running without wearing themselves out or making the mistake of buying stuff they don't need.

That oem Zama carb is the best thing that ever happened to that blower, and you threw it away because of complete ignorance. An oem rebuild kit is the same price as that garbage clone carburetor. Please stop spreading your ignorance. If you want to help people, steer them towards a channel who will show them how to install a stupid simple carburetor rebuild kit. It isn’t any more difficult than replacing it with junk.

If I were running this channel for commercial shops, I would have them rebuilding carbs all day. I save the old carbs and we have a "rebuild day" about once s month. Your average homeowner(95% of my audience) doesn't have the experience or tools to pull off a correct rebuild and will throw it away before spending the money on an overpriced OEM carb. This saves a lot of them from an early trip to the scrapyard.
