"I squeeze my legs together real quick to try to catch the bolt, and I pinch a nut" - LOL! I laughed so hard I spit out my coffee and i wasnt even drinking any.
Well Novice you the man to make sure nobody else got the headache! Big props. Makes me want to get one from you because I know it would be top notch! Well done!!!
Nothing wrong with ratting out Eric if he’s the one that put the new piston in. He had to see it and he still passed it on to you screwing you over. Apparently he’s the kinda guy that’s comfortable with that type of behavior so no reason pretending he’s anything other than a scammer. If he makes it right then you can tell everyone that as well. If he doesn’t well then he deserves to be called on it! Maybe you’ll save the next guy from getting ripped off.
Son, you and I have something in common: neither one of us knew that Eric would do this to you. Notwithstanding, I was willing to buy it unseen based on my belief in you - I’ll not let you eat this $200 on your lonesome. I get my VA check in a few days. When I do I’ll PayPal you the additional funds. By the way, I’m from Missouri 🇺🇸
Mark, you have character that is not seen very often these days, Boedy doesn’t seem to have the kind of character that is seen often these days either. Good on both of you! 👍
That's pretty respectful of you mark 👍🏻, in the end I'm sure you'll get a great saw. Sad thing is this kind of thing happens more and more everyday, so I'm glad Boedy decided to check it out fully. Not many people these days are built for situations like this.
Pretty new so I’d like to say thanks for bringing us along! Sorry for the misfortune at the end. Kudos to you for stepping up and making that saw what it should be. Hope your evening turns out amazing!
Wow, I love that nut part. I've been there before, brother. Man, that cylinder. But your good man for making it right. Sucks to see you've to put money out😢
Its sad that people can be so dishonest these days. Im glad you are a stand up guy and made sure the saw was right before you sold it. Keep your head up. Good things come to honest people.
good on you going into this saw; remember we communicated about me getting one of these. i got it it is a QV-800; it is stock and runs stock; i learned from you today about this saw. take care.
@@jimsworthow531 yeah buddy… we had one at our firehouse and someone dropped it into a flooded house so it needed a total rebuild and I ended up taking it home and rebuilding it with a new topend kit but then we received a new one because our system had an issue with a “fixed or repair” and they replaced it with new and we ended up getting another one donated so we had two and the chief said you have $ in it so just take it home so I put a 36” on it and skipper tooth 3/8’s 50 and I’d basically cut down damaged tree’s or clear the storm damaged stuff or anything else like that around or on a road and drag it off to the side with my truck and just eventually continued to collect equipment and do work for the people around my area even if I had another job I’d be doing that side business and just never could really be happy with another career so I eventually went full time and sometimes I’d be doing two full times because I couldn’t give it up… even with several bigger and newer saw’s I still run the echo and I’ve been thinking it’s needing a radical port job and a expansion pipe and really make it a toy because I’ll never get rig of it I’ve collected a couple parts saw’s so it’s not able to not be running… it’ll be alive as long as I am! The thumb oiler is just so crazy good and I love it…I’m constantly wiggling my thumb when I’m cutting with the 066 or g660 even with a max-flow oiler they are just stingy so when I need it the echo comes out to play!!! LMFFAO… 395 is my main girl now but I’m grabbing my QV second and I’ve been seriously thinking about trying to build a play toy with it??? 👍😁. Smaller carburetor so you don’t have super power but they are just crazy reliable and they don’t burn gallons of fuel either…
Well that sucks. I'd save the cylinder tho. Worst case scenario down the road it'll at least still run. May not be a top performer, but it'll make some cuts. That would make a hell of a good experimental cylinder. Try something crazy and if it blows....well it's already blew. Hopefully it'll all work out for you bud 👍🏻
I just re did a top end on a very similar echo 8000. Something scoured out the nikasil on the top right side. A double streak score. Was that an OEM cylinder and piston on that saw? Maybe you mentioned it I missed it.
There's an online sight that has echo cs 800p piston and rings and cylinder set for $136 wait one and I'll try to find it. Feel your pain, Got a qv 8000 build that is dragging on and on an on. Ebay purchased, and needed way more parts than I imagined.
@@novicelumberjack oh good, glad u found a reasonable price. That ain't too bad, for good oem stuff. Anyhow, I guess price went up to $164 in the last month. That site was rcpw
That's total bullshit. He knew exactly what he was giving you! Total asshole thing to do no matter the case. Should have been up front about the problem.
That sucks ! Alot of people like that flipping saws that do just the bare minimum to get them running to make a quik buck, hope he makes it right with you because he damn sure new about the cylinder being damaged.
If guys wouldn't do stuff like that this world would have no assholes... That explains why he didn't go ahead and port it while he had it apart.... I mean come on what man tears an engine apart and doesn't do something to make it faster??!
@@novicelumberjack Go get Hellboy, do some cookie cutting therapy and let the aroma of the Maxima 927 take you away. If symptoms persist call me in the morning👍🆙BigGuy
Always risky to roll the dice. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. To me that's part of the fun! But man... that was dirty of Eric. If he was in that saw.
@@aaronpowell4885 you know how some people do totally cruddy work for themselves and others and think, "thats as good as new". Those people exist and make me scratch my head. But then again, I cause anxiety for myself overthinking if the flathead screws are all vertical on my receptacle and switch covers.
I bet right after he hit the off button on the camera, there was a nasty phone call made! That’s messed up! No way some one missed that! Especially after taking out the piston that caused it. Maybe a shop did the work, and fucked over the guy you got it from? I bet you already know the answer, I’m just late to the party!
It wasn't the LRB piston that went bad. It was the damage that was supposed to have been "light scoring" and then the new LRB piston was installed into a cleaned up cylinder. The cylinder should have never been reused.
