Echo big bore build, +4mm on a cs 8000/800. Very fun project, but this one still needs a bit yet. visit the website for more product and porting info. worksaws.com
I agree, it's got the displacement now for what it weighs. These saws were definitely BUILT for their displacement. But stock they just aren't impressive. Solid wood cutters but never gonna blow anybodies socks off. The concept of the big bore on them has me pretty interested. I hope you get it ironed out. Super cool concept. Maybe second to as cool as the sleeper big bore 590/620 platform saws out there.
It’s still awesome to have sleeved the cylinder and all that jazz… you’ve done it more so it’s probably less exciting! I’d be totally stocked that it even ran! LMFFAO!!! Awesome stuff!!!
I have an older orange version of the echo CS 8000 which has been a great firewood saw, except for power to weight ratio. But a real reliable torque saw. Runs all day cutting hardwood. If you feel you have bugs worked out or it, would you consider doing this conversion for others? Thanks for in depth video. Really enjoyed it!
You have the exclusive comfort to divide exhaust and go much much wider. You can then increase exhaust timing and decrease blowdown in favor of the transfer timing.
