The fact that we never see the Helldiver with the MG die suggests that perhaps the reason we’re hearing about this story is because of that one diver who lived to tell the tale

The part that hit the hardest for me was when she was staring at the man she loves laying on the bed and it just cuts to him laying dead but in the same position. Shows the reality of how badly things can go and the only thing you are left with is memories. 😢

A friend of mine was interested in Helldivers and the 2 videos I sent him were the game intro, to show the propaganda, and this to show the reality. You nailed the feel of being a Helldiver in a way I have not seen anyone else do.

Being killed on the last button of the mission terminal is SO F TRUE

This is what I’d want out of a helldivers anime 4 trainees and like 2 seasons of character development just for the final episode to just be this.

That last bit where the orbital strike lands and cuts to black on impact, ALWAYS sends a chill up my spine no matter how many times I watch it. With how it all played out, the music AND the visuals, SO damn good! I'm glad YT randomly recommended this to me, awesome work!

Fantastic work. ICaptured the bot front really well and added a little more realism grusome detail to the gunfights.

This shot at 1:07 is carrying the whole video. Even if they're brave, otherwise completely zealous, the fact those people are seen as completely disposable is really sad. I like the exercise of taking a fictionnal world and switch the tune. Very good work !

They were the first divers to get past one mission. They thought themselves invincible until we went to the creak. Each helldivers baptism in fire it decided who was strong enough to survive.

Dude you couldn’t have captured the duality of war better. Like this brings me back to joining the actual military, feeling hyped, kicking ass, and then just pure hell. This is absolutely amazing!

I managed to live with one helldiver for a maximum of 3 landings. And that's the best case!

The best part in my opinion is, how the true horrors of war are shown, when in the end noone wins.

I just noticed, you synced the calm moments of the song with the emotional segments of the video, the decision to enlist, finding love, and the protagonist becoming a casualty, while the metal segments are played during the combat. Don't know if that was intentional but it's genius storytelling. 10/10

It's so fricking good man. It may not be made by the best cgi or best artists with a lot of time to draw but it has soul man.

I don't know a lot about animating but that was really cool

The part when the scene cuts to that guy laying cold on the ground really hit me in the feels. Must say, you did a really damn good job. I wish to see more sooner or later (No rush, animation, drawing, coloring, ect. takes a lot of time..)

Something funny happened that just felt epic for some reason,I was still a cadet,on a bot mission with higher levels,I wad getting reinforced just as the pelican left,but I stilk landed and got out the pod,there was a machine gun and I could still use stratagems,picked up the gun,dropped a 500kg and let loose till I died again

My democracy officer told me "Just as victors celebrate victory without thinking about the obvious loss of life, similarly the democracy rejoices in the lives lost for the cause with pride rather than weep for them for they went out with a bang, like a legend, LIKE A HELLDIVER." Some years back when I was still a skull admiral I had the great pleasure of meeting General Brasch, he was using a bile titan's leg (that he killed by simply staring at it too hard) as a toothpick. I asked him, "How does one do more for the cause?" He simply responds "With each victory you become strong, not because of how many you killed but because you survived. With each victory you have the wishes of the lives lost resting upon your shoulder and fulfilling their will becomes your responsibility and in return they grant you strength. Keep pushing helldiver, keep winning, can't you hear it? EVERYBODY IS CHEERING FOR YOU!"

One major thing you miss, SEAF service, citizens have to do around 2 years of SEAF service to be able to join the Helldiver Corps, one simply cannot just slap on the belly and join the Helldivers

Well, the typical four cadets - zero cover, the machine gunner shoots at full height, the main character, instead of retreating to cover and calling stratagems from there, also does it at full height in front of the machine gun devastators. The result is logical, which is why there are few of us at the front with automata.

This really summarizes the average experience for a new helldiver player they see all the propaganda on tiktok youtube they get the game they fight terminids thinking the war will be easy but the moment they are deployed to the automaton front they die they struggle they’re not used to it many die like what happened in the creek so many new recruit helldivers were deployed after training due to the situation which became a massacre in the end, this reminds me of an experience i had a while back, i joined a mission late turns out the team was wiped we couldn’t use stratagems 1 diver was killed we couldn’t reinforce him me and the remaining diver tried to hold the automatons as much as we could but we lost the extraction, in the end we died in that cold planet with no change of making it back.

And her husband back home hears about her death, and the same day goes and signs up. Hating the Automatons and wanting to avenge and honer her. And so the wheels turn.
