I was there. And I was totally blown away, both as a Doobie Brothers fan and a teenager that was in love with the Pointer Sisters. Local Baltimore TV stations used to bring in all kinds of talent to try and "one up" each other, but in the end it was all about the music and making friends. I miss those days.
This is my favorite Doobie Brothers song and to have the Pointer Sisters singing it with them, all I can say is 'Holy sh*t. Can this song get any better.' I love the Pointer Sisters. Thanks for posting this video. I never saw this before.
Same here, I was born in early 1970 yet vividly recall the music and simplicity of the time. My dad made sure I knew who The Doobie Bros were by age 6.
The Pointer Sisters sometimes sang The Doobie Brothers songs when they performed. This is beautiful. Weren't they all originally from Oakland, California?
I don’t think any of the Doobies were from Oakland, but yeah, The Sisters would also perform Nothin’ But a Heartache when they would go live way back when.
@@thedoobiearchive3356 It was after they performed "Nothin' But A Heartache" in NC, that Ruth said they were down the street from them, or something like that. Then again, maybe I misunderstood her.
