1st stanza - depression has "taken the wheel" convincing Lexi that this reality. 2nd stanza - Lexi is still fighting to keep a clear vision and thought process. 3rd stanza - Depression wins and is the dominant emotion, personality. We see present Lexi falling the "river" of depression while Lil Lex (the light) wants to save her.

This song was haunting… then I watched this video and was swallowed up in emotion. I look at that little girl and I think of my wife and the struggles she went through… and the struggles she still deals with. This album captures that inner battle and what it is like to see from the outside to inside. I love that it is hopeful. Absolutely gorgeous.

I have been listening to your music for a few years now. This song is absolutely beautiful. The past few years of my life have been pretty hectic with revelations and huge choices. Confusing, saddening, and always full of doubt. Seeing this song and the accompanying video, it hits right at home as I have a young son. (I realize the little girl is your inner younger self) All of these emotions. When you surfaced at the end and the little girl helps pull you out, that's my son to me, every day. Sometimes we just want to go home. Sometimes here simply feels wrong. It's not that we dont love you or what youv done for us. Its simply that this life is just to much. I wish people could just trust us, trust our heart and souls and just let us go so we can feel safe and happy again. Suicide is not an escape. It is not someone giving up. We are simply asking to start over. We are just asking for a second chance to be a better person. Please understand that when you come to hate who you are so much, the only option you can see is a clean blank slate. Maybe if I die I'll be reborn and I can try harder to be a better person, one that I love and am proud of. But this here and now that i am. I hate it so much i dont think i deserve to be here. I didn't understand how much control i had and now it's been wasted at the hands of people i thought loved me but didnt. And now i suffered every day blaming myself, for the damage others did to me. Do I not deserve to start over? I dont deserve a chance at a better happier life because it's not what YOU WANT? how selfish do people have to be. I see alot of whining about suicide and the harm it causes the family and friends and I see NOTHING about the awful things the friends and family did to push that person to such a point. So quick to blame the dead VICTIM instead of taking responsibility as MURDERERS. when you hate and refuse to accept someone for them because its inconvenient to you but then feel sad they are gone it's not because you loved or cared about them. It's because your favorite toilet to shit on is gone. People are disgusting and selfish and that in itself is the leading cause of suicide. Selfishness and inconsideration. I side with suicide victims in that society was the problem not them. You people are honesty awful, selfish and just plain disgusting with your treatment towards others. You blatantly lie and manipulate like you think people cant notice, but we do. We are sad and sick NOT STUPID. Suicide is a blessing to the victim and a well deserved punishment to the worthless people who failed them. If you truely loved someone for them and not your personal benefit they would not get to this point.
