Well its not quite right.....this is the correct sentence: "for it is the mark of an educated person to search for the same kind of clarity in each topic to the extent that the nature of the matter accepts it". (Yes...i Googled it)
Consensual non consent requires maturity. This is an debate of ideas and arguments about it. Imagine the typical edgy guys that leave that kind of comments and then they see this video. In that precise moment is when everyone suits up and acts like a gentleman.
Ah, yes, 50 Shades.... If you go to the market and head to the baking section, you're gonna find 2 bottles: 1) one labeled "Pure Vanilla Extract", and... 2) one labeled "Imitation Vanilla". The narrow gap between those two bottles is where the script for 50 Shades was written. LMAO!
That’s not true. Read the screenplay. It’s just a ploy to get a new television and he saw right through it. Watch her face flinch a little when he brings it up. These actors are incredible.
You forgot mentioning the part where she videos the entire scene in her apartment and files it away in her "blackmail closet" with the other videos. A pan shot of this reveals some names we recognize.
Him signing the contract and then burning it is a great message. To me, it says, "It's only human to have deviant thoughts, it's okay to be lured by temptation, but what makes a person him/herself is whether you choose to act upon it".
Not realy, it was done comedicaly but thats him having third toughts, he wants to do it, but don't think he should and his desire is constantly fighting his morals.
The part where the guy orders coffee and refuses a coffee for the girl waa brilliant. Her face showed shock and a bit of pleasurw in being taking control of. Incredibly well acted
She nearly came when he took control of ordering coffee. Shock followed by admiration. Imagine how she'd bust an ovary if he actually did what she asked him to do. Very very intelligent acting as well as direction. 👌
I cannot put into words how much his choice affected me physically and mentally. I loved the quote in the comments section that @NedaGamer posted: "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." - Aristotle Thank you for an exquisite piece.
@@thisisme5487 if an educated mind is defined by its capacity to entertain thoughts without necessarily accepting them, this openness might lead to a deeper awareness of the complexities and nuances in various situations/consequences. this heightened awareness could potentially result in a sense of regret, as the individual recognizes the consequences of different choices or perspectives - and therefore not do it. one way this might happen is when later in life these perspectives change (as they often do) and regret sets in - i shouldve done it when i had the chance
@luciusrex If you entertain ideas or thoughts without accepting them, generally, that would mean there's no influence or change in your perception or behavior, just an expansion of ideas and possibilities. I think regrets come from a place of wishing things had been done differently. It would seem that the only regrets that would come from entertaining ideas without accepting them would be if some of them were so unacceptable that you regret entertaining them. But I see what you're saying. I just feel differently
@luciusrex Although on the contrary, entertaining some of the more unacceptable ideas has helped me broaden my view and have a perspective that helps me come to term with many difficult things. Including regrets.
Wow I never realized that until you said it. But now that You said it, the waitress did seem to have some kind of urgency to her, almost annoyingly interrupting often and at critical times. But now that I think about it...that makes sense if she's seen this play out before.
100% *THAT* is the money shot. Always keep this quote in mind. Another is: "Sign here. It's just a standard contract." "There's no such thing: Every contract was created by the person handing it to you for the sole purpose of protecting them and *not* protecting you."
@@kennethsizer6217 Yes and no. That's a trite but gross oversimplification. A contract that offers no consideration is invalid. Ideally, the contract protects both parties from misunderstandings so that both parties can get what they want. A contract is a way of mitigating risk in a deal so that both parties are satisfied.
I like that even though he was weirded out initially he still listened and even considered even if he realized it wasnt for him in the end. She isnt crazy, that's a very real and surprisingly common kink and it's not for everyone.
Exactly. That's the pure truth and only men can understand it. Girls can't phathom the thought behind it, cuz they just are not in our shoes. They never can be, like we never can be in theirs.
The cinematography on this is absolute bonkers, the casting, the acting, and the music fits really well into the scene, I absolutely love this short film but I do have a little suggestion, if the Omeleto trademark could be a liitle bit smaller I think it would be perfect because it tends to be distracting. But nonetheless, this is a premium quality short film.
This is appalling! As someone who has waited tables for years, I'm offended at how horrible that waitress was at timing. You don't just interrupt an intense discussion like that. Read the table!
TenTonNuke yet many do just that. Especially as she wanted to clear the table without giving them the bums rush. They were occupying her money maker for 20 extra minutes with no larger tip, and no more food ordered. Added their raised voices after five minutes were making other guests very uncomfortable if this was real.
Who cares ? It s only to build up some tension in this awkward situation, u don t get it . That s all u got to say about the story ? No wonder u re only a waitress .
@@gauthiermerlot5278 Dear internet dude, I'm afraid the one who doesn't get it is you. She was making a joke. And you could be the Nobel prize winner, but this "only a waitress" girl is already ahead. PS. You could be a troll and in that case, you got me in your perfectly executed trap :)
Everyone has had their own fantasies..but she's a stranger...and when she tells him of her fantasy he does get excited...but then he realizes the wrong in it, even tho he is aroused at the possibilities. He realizes she's been through something in her life to make her want this and even tho he wants to entertain the idea he can't do it because his morals won't let him..hence why he burns the contract..he will forever be intrigued by her tho..
I do not think it was a good deed versus bad deed in his mind as much as it was a potential legal pitfall, poor communication on her part, and lack of established trust.
@@bensweiss You nailed it. These good and bad people completely miss the point. It is the risk of man following the women fantasy. The women has no legal risk but the male is risking his whole livelihood.
Mummy and daddy always saying “Anna, why can’t you be more like Anya? She’s soooooo perfect, and you are just a piece of crap on the sole of her shoe!”
This is powerful. He, in particular, is exquisite in depicting how temptation and lust build up within him, overtaking him when he signs the contract and how he eventually burns down the brainless desire that could have got him in trouble.
It’s twistedly presented that way so that the « act » versus « possible outcomes » are of unknown results. Bring in a signed « witness » to the contract and the whole situation changes.
I guess I'm the only one who saw this as a lesson in contract negotiation. You don't have to sign any contract as written but can modify it to better cover your interests.
No. It's pretty dangerous to ask for it from a person she's had one date with. Neither should feel comfortable with this having only known each other for a few hours. This sort of thing requires trust. Legitimate, earned trust. Not blind trust.
@@TheSpacecraftX True. I have heard that it is not unusual for people to pay for role play partners that they don't know well either. I guess the fear of not knowing the outcome is part of the attraction. That is definitely a sign of a self destruction personality though....
I legit played the 'I'm a transformer that turns into this' with my friends and we'd battle and occasionally combine, but we'd just say we were and make blaster noises at each other.
I'm not even gonna comment on the story. Just an absolutely wonderful story, wonderfully videography, and cinematography, and an absolutely lovely execution and actors.
True, after all her choice for a safe word just so damn risky, I mean my goodness, what if the word triggered such a lust for donuts that he left and hurried to the donut shop and binged on them to the point he died of a diabetic coma
My problem-solving reflexes kept telling me that she should join a BDSM community. People there are some of the most educated when it comes to "sexual good practices" and she'd be safe there. And I'm not sure about that childhood story, maybe she has trauma worth talking about in therapy. As for the artistic perspective, I think the writing and acting were great, it was quite a suspenseful story and slightly uncomfortable to watch. I appreciate it didn't have a dark ending.
Khalid Ali The obvious answer to your question is that “IT’S A BAD IDEA!!!!” Role playing is a lot of fun and exciting and definitely gets the juices flowing, but her proposition is too clinical and legal and not a turn on at all, (not to mention too many red flags went up for me). 🥴
I was thinking his reply should be, "Well, you've piqued my interest here, but this is definitely not a first-date activity. How about our fourth date?" Fred
Great ending: he signs then burns it Scary ending: He smiles tosses on the table and walks out. Man who was listening to their conversation picks it up, signs it, and walks out with the contract
Oh hell no. Damn you got me with that one. That's actually really good thinking. There's a channel that does sort horror films. Seems like something you'd see there.
not really, they guy is always going to be a risk no matter how long they have known each other or the state of the relationship. metoo has had some real and unintended consequences
Plot Twist: The address she wrote down is for her twin sister's place, who she's never forgiven for taking advantage of her by the beach when they were younger.
Nah, but that defeats the point if she waits that long to ask. It would have not been as exhilarating to do it with someone she had already built a level of comfort and familiarity. She would know that the person would have a vested interest in keeping her safe, which removes the factor of a threat of danger in a sexual context. Before y'all start judging me, my ex was just like her so I have an understanding of the psychosis behind this fetish.
@@jyranechjm5766 I totally get the fantasy as is and the psyche behind it (my ex also had this exact fantasy). It’s a shame but this unfortunately is one of those fantasies that won’t and/or can’t be satisfied in 99% of the time. there’s to much risk involved for both parties.
My thoughts exactly! I was wondering why I hadn't seen either of these anywhere else. And if this was their first on-screen appearance, how fantastic they both were...
This is so good. 1) the politeness of the conversation, then going to darkness and back to politeness 2) The complex nature of men an women and how a woman saying yes is so much stronger than a mans will to want it 3) the cultural and political stance of this is on point with everything going on in the world and 4) the facial expressions of the guy signing to agree and then realising the ramifications of what he has signed but still wondering if he should, because she agreed. Thumbs up!
Or an ending that reveals the entire scene watched was a flash back in the man's mind ... while laying near death in a hospital ICU due to having been shot by the woman when he showed up, due to her having forgotten about her proposal
Selective attention. Unless you're not talking much with your partner, you're more likely focused on the conversation in front you. That's the closest thing I've got to any sort of explanation for that lol
This could make an interesting feature I would definitely watch. Even with these 2 actors, I think they're great! Good writing, good directing, easy but good cinematography. Kudos!
This one surely was one of the most brilliantly performed film i have ever seen! I was under the spell of their strange compassion and outsmarting each other like chess players! The mind fully exposed, lol
@@descorchedfurnst2790 - again, it completely depends on the laws in that jurisdiction. In some places, that contract would be enough proof to protect him, as it shows that it was a two-party consensual act, especially if she does not press charges.
@@Starhawke_Gaming There's a good chance they'll just throw out the contract and any supposed consent , the woman can easily claim that she repeated the safe word "Eclaire" and he didn't stop, more than likely they would take the woman's side. Not worth the risk at all
I took a snap testimonial for my eyes only when someone requested something similar but even more bizarre. The short was amazing. Well written and perfect actors!
@@chrischris9123 Doesn't necessarily apply to everyone though. Clearly after giving it some thought, it was evil from his perspective. Part of what makes alignment systems tricky, and the human conscience so interesting.
@@Tybuscus No, he did not "clearly" think it was evil. You're putting words in his mouth. He simply didn't agree to do it, and that's the whole point of negotiating and consent. How does consent not apply to everyone?
@@chrischris9123 he doesn't simply stuff the paper in his pocket or throw it away; the man straight up burns the paper so no one can use it. Maybe not 'clearly,' but you don't need a thought bubble with "this is evil" above his head to understand he is both uncomfortable and thinks its wrong
@@Tybuscus i dont think he thought it was evil. He thought it was 1) a double standard that women can have that kind of fantasy but a man cannot because it would be seen as creepy. (even she admitted to this) and 2) that it could potentially be a very sticky situation if she were to accuse him. Men get put behind bars for much less evidence, hes not about to risk it.
The waitress did exactly what the girl asked the guy to do. He said no to the coffee. She came back and insisted, ultimately “forcing” the coffee on him.
@@Makberries he still would be in trouble. contracts like this that go against the laws of the land are always null and void, ab initio (from the start)
