www.pinkfloydo... Performed at Sydney's State Theatre in December 2022, this recording of Have a Cigar shows the might and power of this extraordinary event.
I was at the State Theatre in December 2022 for this show and was blown away by how great it was. I have never had the experience of Pink Floyd live however have seen Roger Waters live a few times and that was truly a magical experience. Needless to say Pink Floyd have been a solid influence over my life from 18 years old to the merry old age of 64 and my love for their music has never lessened. After seeing this show it was heightened but what is more amazing is that three nights ago (11.8.24) I saw it again at the Sydney Opera House and it was actually even better !!!! From the opening trumpet solo intro to Shine On You Crazy Diamond to the brilliant Trumpet Outro (very clever) I had every motion in me heightened and brought to life. Opening with SYD is pretty much standard for any Pink Floyd show, thank goodness but to follow with Welcome to the Machine and done with the brilliance of the aggression of the two, one male and one female singers was outstanding, sorry but I forget her name but the blonde in the dark velvet gown with hood was stunning, frightening and intoxicating !!! The saxophonist looked he should be on a Harley, my god he was awesome and he was pretty damn good on the flute as well. The violins, the wind, the percussion, the guitarists, the backing vocals, the soloist (Great Gig In the Sky) the keyboards (hope I didn't miss anyone) were so bloody good. Everything about this show was first class and I was in tears accompanied by heightened enjoyment and drove home feeling so damn good and so lucky to have been able to experience the show again and I hope I get to do so again one day ................. soon 🙂 Well done to the arranger, I believe it was lead violin, what a talent putting that together. You don't just turn up and put an orchestra together with a rock band, it has to be re written, broken down and rebuilt, not easy but thank you as it was done masterfully. I do go on but Pink Floyd has been a part of my life nearly all my life and to experience this treatment not once but twice makes me feel truly blessed. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
I've seen Pink Floyd Live 3 times starting in 1972 Rainbow Theatre London . Knebworth Park an hour out of London in 1973 and East Fremantle Oval in 1988. I know this isn't the Floyd but hey , you get what you can and this band sounds great .
I walked out They butchered so much of it that during pigs (three different ones) i said fuck this and left The orchestra is good but the guitarists are absolute garbage I don’t even want my money back It was absolute shit
