I appreciate the sarcasm in the singer’s voice. That sarcasm in Roy Harper voice is what made this song so damn good. Roger wanted to sing this song, but he knew that Roy took this song to another level.
I can't get enough of Brit Floyd! I may listen to other music, but I always come back BF. I must get my fix daily. Can't wait to get the Amsterdam set!
Roy Harper did vocals on the real record. Everyone thinks it was Roger. This sounds just like Roy Harper! Really fantastik! Seeing them in Waukegan, Illinois in April, 2019! Can’t wait!
Really underscores just how awesome and ahead of its time this song (and album) was. Pink Floyd are just on another level, and this band is covering them masterfully.
Edo Scordo is the best guitar player Brit Floyd has ever had. Tonal and note accuracy are impecible. He may be the best Pink Floyd tribute guitarist to ever play as well. Seen them twice, met him twice. VERY KIND, and he is very passionate about his accuracy and his respect for David Gilmour!!
The audience is totally different from 1975 (of course). Back then everyone was standing and passing a doobie - a really great time spent with Waters-Gilmour-Wright-Mason.
Saw Brit Floyd in Baltimore last year and their were FANTASTIC! They are a worthy tribute band to one of the best bands of all time. I would dare say that they are the best cover band of Pink Floyd of all time so far. They hit the mark EVERY TIME!
Brilliant work! I always thought this song is a great example of how two contrasting approaches worked when juxtaposed - Waters’ pointedness and directness in the lyric amidst floating, trippy textures by Gilmour & Wright.
Idk my fellow Pink Floyd fans, I´d say Brit Floyd is a great band. Shit these guys have it all the solos, the voice and style hell dont forget the talented they all are even the girls who sing ¨Great gig in the sky¨. I think this band is the greatest. besides most people tell me im toom young to like pink floyd but now we young rockers have ¨Brit Floyd¨!! Man these guys rock. Wish i could have seen Pink Floyd live though.
Its one thing to copy a song and play it on stage but to be the one who sat down to write it down is another.Brit floyds are amazing but to say their version blows the real one out of the water is ridiculous...They listened to the reccord and learned the song..Roger waters sat down and wrote the whole thing...David wrote that masterpiece of a solo...so when you hear the pink floyd live version of this song..Regardless of the quality or the song..You are listening to the artist...Its like saying a copy of a picasso is better than the original because the colors are better....youre missing the point
I have seen Roger Waters in 2013, Brit Floyd in 2014, David Gilmour in 2015 (four times). Brit Floyd was the best one in terms of the sound and the harmony.
Love how they ended it like it ends on the album. I'd seen other performances with the other guitar player so when we saw them in Atlanta the other night I didn't recognize Mr. Scordo. Man, he killed it. Blew me away when they did Another Brick in the Wall Pt. II. Top notch performances all around. :D
Bobby Harrison was the original guitartist for Brit Floyd (left handed guitarist). Last year, Bobby decided to move on to pursue other ventures; Edo Scordo; took over for Bobby last year during their Space Time tour.
Laser Floyd: Yes Scodo is very , very good on this one and several others. In my humble opinion, Bobby Harrison handles "Shine On You Crazy Diamond much better....seems to put more stress on strings ..more feeling. No offense to Mr. Scodo but I would imagine Bobby is the MORE accomplished/experienced guitar player. Of course Damien Darlington is just ....well.... damned near perfect!
We went to see them last night in Brighton, Fantastic at the end of the show the audience Gave them a standing ovation, and they played an extra 20 minutes.great night!!!!
These guys are amazing. Recently I saw them performing Dogs, which was great. And now I see this performance of Have A Cigar, and as usual I am totally in awe. Sir David Gilmour no doubt would be impressed by the cover of his solo.
