The layering of the clothes is giving me mid 2000's Disney red carpet vibes, and I'm not mad, but you're right some items do look dated in that way.

I totally think that’s on purpose thought!! I feel this pack was super catered towards gen z who are in high school and university ages (mostly) and as a part of that age group it totally emulates what I see in eco friendly people. There is a HUGEEEE movement to thrift, even older clothes, and a lot of older styles are coming back in because of it (heavy layering, cropped items, flat shoes) as well as generally dressing like a grandpa regardless of gender. There are patches and stuff that I see a lot of on tiktok with artsy earthy creators. Idk not hate just like sharing my opinion hehe

I think they did that on purpose - the overall vibe of this pack really makes me feel like it takes place in the early 2000's. Maybe that's just me trying to justify loving that fashion era.

They only do this so they don't show under low-rise clothes. They only exist so you don't see genitals; they are not clothing items in reality.

Sarah Davis I also didn’t play with Island Living much, but I think it was because of the low effort put into it. We got all these things: mermaids, cleaning the islands and the islanders themselves. But nothing was actually well done. It looks like this pack has way better gameplay with a lot of depth. I really hope it lives up to my expectations because I’ve wanted a pack like this for a while.

In the exact same boat. Island Paradise was one of my favorite packs in TS3 and I was so excited for Island Living but I played with it for like a few days and dropped it. It was so half baked. That's (and a whole host of other things) made me a bit bitter towards TS4 in general lol. So when I saw knitting and this eco pack as the next ones I was like uh no. I like the game play objects very much especially the recycling and juice maker very neat and some of the CAS and build/buy are cool but not $50+ cool so I'll grab it way later on sale. No interest in the 10 lot world or the eco game play that will be fun once and then I'll turn it off!

since they r gonna have all that natural dye stuff for crafting furniture, i wished there was some tie dye style cas items the sims can craft. hopefully they add some in the stuff pack rather than limit it all to just knitting items.

I’m struggling with this pack. Half of the stuff is something I want, particularly the hairs, glasses and piercings. But a lot of the clothes I’m not sold on. I feel the same when it comes to build/buy. This might be one I wait to go on sale.

I feel the same exact way. I wrote on the build/buy video James posted about waiting for it to go on sale and now after seeing the CAS stuff I’m even more inclined to wait. I’m like 50/50 on everything. There’s some really nice stuff and then there are some really questionable design choices.

I wish they added more textured hair. It would be nice to have a wide range of textured hair that comes with a pack rather than constantly downloading cc just so that your sim can be represented. I would love to see more curly, coily and braided hairs in game packs and in game updates. Otherwise, the cas items are nice.

Rainbowbear123 the sims team couldn’t do that or that would be seen as ‘sexist’ I guess since it’s just male clothing and the pack would probably be called ‘men’s clothing’ or something like that. I get what you mean though but they should just make an equal amount of clothes for all genders and ages.

The hairs for _Eco Living_ might be the best additions that EA have given us in a long time, even though I am more prone to liking more alpha-looking hair and CC. I appreciate how attentive the EA team always is to female Sims, however, I do feel like they've continued to miss the mark with the male Sims, and even CC creators have missed it, as well.

From what i've learned, a lot of cc creators complained that most of the hairs from this pack looks kind of similar to hairs they made in the past. Not saying they stole it, it's just that EA is so attentive, they take inspiration from creators who work from their houses instead of giving those cc creators a chance to work for them and make changes we want to see in the game. I have no complaints about the pack, i'm just saying what i've seen in the cc creator community

Honestly, I love all the clothes so much. I'm a huge thrifter, I no longer buy fast fashion, and sometimes dumpser dive lol A lot of these outfits are really trendy rn in the thrift flip scene. The thrifting scene still seems pretty.. small I guess is the word, so I'm not surprised that many people dislike the pack and the clothes

I know you hated the under tank that went to the hips, but personally that’s something I wear. I wear longer tanks layered under anything cropped and I can not wear high waisted pants. Mid rise or bust! It’s not super on trend but it’s more comfortable for me, I appreciate that not everything in the game is cropped and high waisted and that some is, variety is good! And I think the “flared cuff” sweatpants were supposed to look like someone cut the elastic cuff to loosen them.

When I heard we were getting piercings in university I was excited but then when I found out there was no nose rings I was sad but now I'm super excited for this pack even if it's just for the case(and the fact the craftable candles melt)

Well that's unneccessarily rude. We had every right to be sceptical considering how bad the trailer was, and how the gameplay trailer was no better. So much recycled animation and none of the gameplay looked promising, and I still feel that way. So if you're excited for the pack then I'm happy for you, but not everyone is and your comment was ignorant.

I like that we get some frumpy, lumpy sweaters and jackets that don't quite fit etc. Sims look so perfect in everything that it's hard to create people who look bad and I don't mean randomly generated outfit bad. There are also a lot of cc creators who "fix" the bad stuff, but none that make "ugly" stuff lol

It's so no one can use her video and distribute it before the game is released. It shows that the video was approved by EA for specific simmers, like Deli and James who got pre-release packs. Anyone who attempted to voice over Deli's video and replace her image with theirs to get views, would still have Deligracy bouncing all over the screen. Kinda genius to watermark the pre-release videos, even if it was annoying James by constantly going on top of what he was trying to point out. haha

Idk if it's just me or I might be mistaken, I LOVE the cas but a lot of things look like existing cc? for example hairs, and the bag on the head, some things are realllly similar ... I hope it's just a coincidence and the sims group isn't shamelessly ripping off custom content creators :(

Love it! love the styling its right up my alley I love the over the top accents to clothing that are so about look and zero function :))) hairdos are awesome too!
