This panel can put out close to 100 watts ru-vid.comUgkxOqI2yqX0XVrhR2BMJciTWrHJpG8FhJyg when positioned in the appropriate southernly direction, tilted to the optimal angle for your latitude/date, and connected to a higher capacity device than a 500. The built in kickstand angle is a fixed at 50 degrees. Up to 20% more power can be output by selecting the actual date and latitude optimal angle.The 500 will only input 3.5A maximum at 18 volts for 63 watts. Some of the excess power from the panel can be fed into a USB battery bank, charged directly from the panel while also charging a 500. This will allow you to harvest as much as 63 + 15 = 78 watts.If this panel is used to charge a larger device, such as the power station, then its full output potential can be realized.

I tested mine for BMS.. all past with flying colors. Could be that one 10ah battery you have. I have 20 30 100 150 Eco Worthy. They’ve been excellent. 20 and 100 over a year. No failures.

Ecoworthy was the one of the first lifepo4 batteries i bought. I got a 200w solar kit with controller and it was a great project. The kit came with 2x20ah batteries, which are still working :) But i did change them out for a 100ah cell, from ecoworthy. I can understand they may not be the best cells or a good bms (it works for my use cases, as a portable battery bank that powers my patio pond) For the price, i don't think you can find better deals, also some come with a warranty :D Ecoworthy is kinda new to the market i think, they're still having some growing pains but i've been rather pleased with their products so far. 7/10 acceptable product not the best but acceptable.

wait, you need to hold the cable to know if it does short circuit right? the spark is normal, it has a reaction time, it just power it on again as soon as the load goes off, i got some bms that do exactly that, but if i hold the cable, the short stop

Any recommendations of LiFePo4 battery brands that are available in Europe? None of the Rebel, Nocqua, Dakota Lithium, MarCum, Vexilar or Amped Outdoors are being sold here. At Amazon (nl, de) I see many Kepworth and Eco-Worthy batteries but these are getting quite a terrible reviews. I also found some PowerTech PowerBrick+ batteries here but they are very expensive and I can't find any reviews.

Do these Lifepo4 batteries work in things like RideOn toys (powerwheels, Razor Quad) etc. I bought a few to replace the SLA batteries I have, but they don't seem to have the strength to power power them. Didn't know if it's something Lifepo4 isn't made for do to a limitation on discharge rate or something, or if I just bought crappy ones

Hey mate I'm considering buying one of these batterys for a razor mx125 kids dirt bike, how do you think these would perform? Stock they have a 12v 7ah lead acid battery, 100watt motor and a 15a controller.

If your gonna short circuit test a Battery, clip the alligator clip and leave it on there with your amp meter on it as you had. All you did was a instant arching of the terminals.

I have a 30ah eco worthy battery, it has been okay i use it to powerbox. I use a 300w inverter in it, the most i pull is about 250w and ive had no issue with it. The short circuit protection does work - i shorted mine accidently and it just turned the output off for a few seconds. I dont have a proper way of measuring its capacity but when i charge from solar itrs always takes over 300w of power into it, my charger is not accurate though it goes up i increments in weird intervals so its more than its saying. For one of the cheapest lifepo4 batteries im happy with it.

Lifepo4 needs to use a different way to measure state of charge and capacity. There are ones that use wh by measuring amperes used and it compares it to what it has when fully charged

I've got 2 of these, and been regularly charging and discharging on a weekly basis. Over a year down the line, they both hold and supply the 10Ah. Happy with them so far, be interesting to see how long they last.

I had ordery 2bof that brand at amazon 12V 50AH infortunatly they was to long 4 my Afiscootter C3 They refunt it to me but had to send them back at my cost I"m happy it turn that way after all lol

Thanks for the video. I have a 3-wheel electric push golf cart from Sun Mountain. They no longer sell or support the carts. The cart takes (2) 12v/10ah batteries that are wired in series. I have been using Might Max SLA batteries for a number of years. In the past, they have lasted a few years before they needed to be replaced. I put in new batteries ~3 months ago, which are now failing to work after 2-1/2 hours of use. Originally I could get 2 rounds of golf without a charge (8 hours). They are actually the second set of new batteries that I have put in with the same results. No one seems sure why this is happening ( Sun Mountain, Battery Retail stores, hardware stores, etc). I live in a small town in Iowa, so the likelihood of finding someone that can properly diagnose the problem with the cart is slim. Perhaps as the cart has aged and for some reason, it is getting harder on batteries. As a possible solution, several people have recommended going from SLA to lithium. There is a big jump (4x) in price, but perhaps the extended life of the lithium battery might make it more financially feasible than buying 2-SLA batteries ($25 each) every 3 months. Would really be interested in your thoughts - if you think that the switch to lithium is a worthwhile option - and if so, which battery would you recommend. Thanks so much.

Great question! I think you will see a world of difference between using a lithium battery vs a lead acid. Lithiums are going to be A LOT more energy dense. And you are able to run them down 100% of their rated capacity without damaging their ability to retain a charge. That is the reason you are going though lead acid batteries so fast, once you discharge them past 50%, you damage their ability to retain a charge. These lithium batteries should last you 10 years. When picking out a lithium battery in that 10Ah range, one thing you need to keep in mind is that not all of them can be wired in series for a 24v system. Here is a link to a fairly cheap 10Ah lithium that CAN be wired in series. amzn.to/3PK1KKV Make sure you get a LiFeP04 charger too. If you wire them in series, might be worth getting two so you can charge each battery at the same time. This is the one I use, I like the bigger alligator clips. amzn.to/3zrfpS6

I got my 20AH delivered today. The sheet in the box says that current protection kicks in at 2 x the max discharge current. I'm not knowledge enough to know if that's bad, but at least it seems intentional.

Sounds about right, It's the level a fuse would pop (instantly at double the rated current, in a few seconds at 180%, about an hour at 125%)

I bought 3 of these exact batteries off ebay in Oz....working fine so far. Also used a 30ah on daughters gate. It sits in the weather ..and there has been a lot this year.. never gets to freezing though. All working well 1 year in. Ghey all charge off cheap pwm solar controllers. Just found some nicer Renogy ones with a Li setting. Might change those.

Just to add something here, the larger 24ah eco worthy has a max charge of 20a. Maybe its a misprint or wrong bms in there? Just a thought. I just ordered the 24ah, Ill let you guys know how it goes!

@@iceholepower8012 I bought 2 of the 20AH versions over a year ago. They have worked well enough that I now have ten of them in a string ( 2S5P ) for an inverter. I opened one of them up ( 4 screws and the top comes off and has a gasket ) to see what the BMS looked like. Even though the battery is a 20AH, it is rated for a maximum 30Amp discharge and actually has a 25Amp BMS. Charge rate is to be limited to 20 Amp per their paperwork. I have 20 Amp fuses between batteries and they all balance out to within .02Volts. As for their protections, read what they say. "[100% Protection] Built-in BMS protects the cell from getting damage like: overcharge, over-discharge, short-circuit. And keep balance between battery cells " Key legal word there is " like " You may not be able to damage them thru those actions but it doesn't mean that there shouldn't be fuses/circuit breakers somewhere involved.

I nearly purchased 2 X 30ah Eco Worthy batteries for my mobility scooter, but after reading all the reviews here in the UK I decided not to buy. Still using lead acid as there seems to be some bad lifep04 batteries being sold in the UK.

I’m afraid to say but his test is not accurate. Max discharge is rated at 20A… nothing is going to happen at 16. For his short circuit protection… all he did was arch the terminals. Not how you test a battery.

I have one of the genius 5a smart chargers and it gets hot when charging. Like too hot. Had it for a few years and use it a couple times a month. Still working but I would never leave it unattended.

Noticed that when you increase the charging current, the voltage reading dropped. How can your fancy charger do that? Doesn’t it make sense?

If I am not mistaken, you charged a frozen lithium battery, thereby voiding the warranty and likely doing damage. You also use claims on Amazon about what the battery should and should not do, rather than going directly to the manufacturers website. I could not find where Eco-worthy made a claim that there is short circuit protection, or low or high temperature protection for this battery. If I missed it, please point me to the manufacturer claims. This seems to be a common problem on Amazon - sellers making claims that the manufacturer does not make.

Someone else pointed me to the correct claim from the manufacturer. It should disconnect on a dead short after 2/10 of a second. And for the 10 AH battery it should disconnect if it reaches 2 times its rating for more than 2/10 of a second. That would be 20 amps or more. So that quick sparky test you did is not really valid. You would have to use a heavy gauge wire to do the short and leave it there for a solid 1/2 second.

I have a 4.5ah and 12ah 12v and a 3.0ah 9v bioennos used for ham radio from mountain tops (over 200x) now in 100f to 10f they all have worked perfectly.
