Hi, great detailed video I've got both the smaller 10Ah and 30Ah varients powering some radio gear and a small 12V Victron Phoenix 250W inverter with no major heating on the casing pulling around 14A sustained output. I'm using ring to 45A Powerpole cables to hook up to my gear so no issues with sparks. The BMS in both seem to be good quality as with a 20Ah LFP charger the 10Ah charges around 7A from near flat and the 30Ah pulls 20Ah with hardly any heat on the rear of the case. The terminals don't look like they could withstand multiple cables as the screws seem to be fairly short. The 30ah is easy to transport as it uses standard lead acid 20Ah casing which is good. Glad to see these finally being reviewed in great detail.

Great job. I already bought 100Ah 24V version of the EcoWorthy. After some initial issues (probably the cells were not well balanced) now it works very smooth and the capacity is above the advertized capacity.

I have been told by eco-worthy that the cells in the 12 volt 100 amp battery are cylindrical cells not prismatic. Should I buy this or pass for prismatic cells later from another manufacturer? Again they say they are cylindrical cells.
@DCGUY

There are pro's and cons to cylindrical cells but the prismatic are generally preferred. If you are in the UK, look at my video on the Fogstar 105 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qrsbo9kxv38.html

Activating Channel Notifications actually works ;) Nice Video again! Are there any reasons you observed so far that the battery is significantly cheaper than comparable products? I mean u mentioned grade A cells last video so this cant be the reason I guess. At how many degrees does the overheat protection switch off? I have seen another video on ''cheap'' batteries where it shuts off at around 75 °C, which according to the reviewer is too high because the battery should not reach this temperature. was the over heat protection installed in a reasonable place? And what about their charger? Did you buy it? Or any good alternatives?
@DCGUY
@DCGUY 2 года назад
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I will figure out notifications. The battery is mass produced using inexpensive BMS, cheaper battery housing etc. Most battery management systems have high temperature cut off between 70-85 degrees. The variables are many, Amp rating of BMS, wire gauge used, load and so on. I'd rather a cut off in this region for safety. If I'm going over I'm either using too low a voltage for my loads or incorrect wire gauge. Heat during use is normal, but above 85 degrees your heading into danger zones, especially in an enclosed area as the cells are. The temperature sensor was installed correctly and is rated at 85 degrees. I am testing a standard 12v battery charger and the Victron 30amp charger with these cells. Also I'm going to test Daly 100 amp and 150 amp BMS on these same cells.. ECO-WORTHY seem to have found a good balance between quality and value for money. Also in case this was just luck, I've ordered 3 more to test.

I’d disagree on the amateur comment .. RU-vid are pushing channels to make shorts to catch the attention of youngsters on phones. I’d be grateful if there was a way to tell from the thumbnail which orientation was coming. Some channels leave black bars left and right as a hint, for which I’m grateful. Meanwhile I’m grateful for the content and feel any issues are RU-vid‘s fault.

Does the load capacity for those BMS wires go up if you have 2 batteries in parallel? So a 70 amp draw would become 35 on those wires?
@DCGUY
@DCGUY 2 года назад
With a parallel connection the AMP HOURS will increase, not the voltage or amps actually drawn. If you have 2 x 12v 100ah batteries in parallel the voltage stays at 12v but the amp hours increases to 200ah. Hope this helps
@ratfacekick
@ratfacekick 2 года назад
@@DCGUY Oh I think i get it. Series would bump up the volage and therefore cut my amp draw in half on those BMS wires, but parallel wouldn't. One last question, should I worry about the peak startup load from an appliance like a microwave or air conditioner when considering the max draw of 100 amps on these? So if it momentarily goes up to 120 or whatever when you turn it on. Thanks so much for the help
@DCGUY
@DCGUY 2 года назад
I'm assuming here as i don't know your planned set up. I take it you will be using an inverter to convert DC into AC? A 100Ah Lifepo4 battery packs a lot of power and can handle what the BMS is set for. You will need to use an inverter suitably sized in WATTS. They come in different voltage ratings 12v, 24v,48v The inverter will have a "peak" rating e.g 3500w/7000w peak. So the inverter only takes the DC voltage then inverts it into something your appliances can use e.g AC power. You cannot connect a DC power item direct to an AC appliance. There's info on my website www.dcguy.co.uk which may help and links to what to use. There are downloads on wiring etc. Hope this helps.

Nice review, if you were to reccomend one, would you get this eco worthy or an ultramax with cylindrical cells?
@DCGUY
@DCGUY 2 года назад
Hi, thanks for watching and taking time to comment. It's a great question. Both have their advantages, for serviceability e.g perhaps replacing a cell or BMS in the future the eco worthy wins but the ultramax has better size terminal bolts, runs much cooler under load and packs a bit more Ah but is larger / heavier than eco worthy. Only downside with the ultramax is the number of cells used (Cylindrical) so if one goes bad it would be a pain to find & replace but that's unlikely. I genuinely like both but you go with budget and space available.

Hi again, my 12v outboard trolling boat motor's output on maximum setting number 5 is an output of 64 amps with an input power of 768watts. Speed 5 only ever gets used in a choppy current and head wind, very infrequent where I go. Do you suggest I go higher than 100ah LiFePO4 because of this? If the wires are a little thin around the BMS could be risky. My train of thought is if the battery is say 150amps then the BMS cables would be thicker 🤔 The battery I used last year when out fishing was a 110ah leadacid but it weighs a ton for me now despite its handles. I got 2 hours out on the water with it fishing , stopping and starting so a LiFePO4 would help a lot for more range and time out on the water trolling/fishing etc I think? Thanks.

Hi, thanks for doing this authopsie ^^' I'm going to build a van to live in it, and I'm short on money right now to invest in a victron system, so I found this compagny with really nice price compare to other, so I wander if the quality is good enought to be trust. So your video are really enjoyable for me because now, I know safety is in it and in a van whos gonna be my home, safety is really important. Did you plan to do same things to their charge controler or their power inverter? I'm really interested to it. By the way, you have a new follower :)

Hello & thanks for watching and taking time to comment. Yes they can be connected in either series or parallel but no more than 4 batteries due to the bms limitations. Always fully charge each battery to the same state and let them sit overnight. Check voltages before making a connection. Remember the battery bank will only be as good as the lowest battery so bear that in mind.
