Great video. I picked up the delta 2 max with 2 extra batteries and the new 800w alternator charger on an Amazon Mother’s Day deal. Saved a cool $1449.

we have about 20 of these in my department, i just had one in last week for service, with a common cycle life errors, it required a deep cycle drain x 3 times before the capacity % would relearn itself accurately.

What do they use them for at your work place?
@Paul-IE-Repairs
@Paul-IE-Repairs 7 месяцев назад
Portable ROVs, running small pressure washers etc, i ran a 850w space heater off off of one for an hour and a half to drain it down till shut off, normally they get 3 to 4 days out of them before they need to be recharged

We also have a few jackery models and one or two milwaukee ones. avoid the milwaukee. If the batteries aren't in balance, then it only runs as long as its weakest link. Even if all 4 are "topped off"

Great Video Rick! Really enjoyed the video Rick, although not in the market for portable power sources it’s cool to see what is out in the market. I do like the fact that this unit uses a LiPo battery. Very familiar with those, they are more expensive but last forever and are lightweight.

Thanks man! They are neat, their times when you don’t wanna mess with a generator if you think the power is only gonna be out for a short duration of time and there’s also times where you need to run a corded tool far away from outlets, and this makes it very convenient.

The one thing about EcoFlow I do not like is the fact that the plug is on the opposite side than the display. So in order to use the device you must turn it around to access all features. That's plain dumb. And these do shut themselves off from time to time for no reason. So it's important to be able to set, reset, connect, etc. The design flaw I mention makes use more difficult and needlessly.

I’m using mine for a sump pump back up and I have not had it shut off yet. But I do agree the plugs are a little bit backwards, but I see why they did it.

GREAT video!! you covered everything, you sounded professional and everything looked totally professional.... seeing your a HVAC guy you're hopefully the guy I have been looking for to answer a question..... I am a little survivalist.. I have 1000 gallon propane tank ( holds 800 gallons propane) that runs my Generac generator... I also have a 3 oil barrels @ 330 gallons each (990 gallons total) ... so I have enough oil to heat my house for over a year... the generator at a gallon an hour will not last long... with the cold New England winters I need to run the generator / heating system 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours at night to bring the house up to 80 degrees so it lasts X amount of hours so I don't freeze....... I'm looking at the EcoFlow Delta Max 2 ..... and thinking "IF" it can run my heating system for????? 12 hours then I can just run my generator to recharge the EcoFlow.... and while the Eco Flow is recharging, the house will be heating back up..... .. finally my question ....... I have a huge 3000 SQ FT house with a hot air furnace with oil burner..... the fan for system is HUGE with a starting amperage of 16 amp... the oil burner has an oil pump and a blower that atomizes the oil as it blows it into the chamber..... the oil burner also has a transformer that puts the 120 volts to 50,000 volts to ignite the oil..... I'm hoping the EcoFlow could run it for 5 hours a day so I would only have to run my generator once a day for 3 hours.. that would let me get a hot shower ( oil fired water heater uses next to nothing for power and heats the water in 20 minutes) use the well pump for water.... wash and dry my clothes and cook my food and of course recharge the EcoFlow... .. but with that HUGE fan running for a few hours a day I'm thinking the EcoFlow will drain in less than an hour........ I've bought a power meter and will wire it to my furnace to see what the average load per day is... but before I buy the Ecoflow for this, I thought I would ask your opinion if it could handle such a big draw??? ps I will also get a smaller EcoFlow that will power my fridge and chest freezer.

You’re gonna need to know what your total amp drawl is so we can convert it to wattage and then we can find out how long the systems is going to run. 2500 W divided by 120 V comes out to 20 amps. I definitely would consider the extra battery. Everything you’re describing is very similar to what I’m going to be doing with my EcoFlow Delta pro ultra that I’m gonna be doing a video review on here real soon. If you’d like to email me at HVACRsurvival@gmail.com, We can communicate back-and-forth a little bit better than on here.

The little box produces 120 V just like a generator. You can power your appliances off of it and take it with you and it’s rechargeable.

Good stuff. Thank you. I've ordered mine. I don't have internet. My phone works fine online without it. I sure hope I can get app to work. Looks like I'm going to have to learn and understand the numbers and how to use this, by trying it. Frankly, the only thing I'm worried about running is a 5,000 btu A/C, a fan and to charge my cell phone.

I recommend you test it during your trial period to see if it will last long enough without recharging unless you have solar.

It's not the fans themselves that are loud but the noise is due to the design and location of the fans.

The first delta max was loud from what videos I seen
@NoZenith
@NoZenith 6 месяцев назад
I avoided the Delta Max because of the fan complaints even though it was on ridiculous sales during thanksgiving. Bought my parents and myself both a Delta 2 Max and it's really quiet. Quieter than a refrigerator when the fans kick on high and it's not at all an unpleasant sound. I intend to take this and use it in a cargo trailer conversion, at the biggest 6 ft by 10 ft, so I need it to be very quiet to sleep with
@HVACRSurvival
@HVACRSurvival 6 месяцев назад
Like I mentioned on the video, the previous models, which all have the same sounding name, were stupid loud. This one here was not bad. But the term loud is subjective to each individual person and is a personal decision, so I’m glad you found the one you wanted.👍👍

I’m not sure how that tax credit thing works, I know they have renewed the tax credit stuff. I’m sure there’s a form you need to fill out which your tax professional should have. We have the same thing available for HVAC work that I do full-time.

Which power stations can work with AC 220 -240v / 50hz?
@HVACRSurvival
@HVACRSurvival Месяц назад
The delta ultra can do 240v and they might be releasing a brand new unit that is a little smaller than the ultra that can do 240v. 50hz is switchable on most units I’ve seen. We use 60hz here.

Appreciate your video, which would be better to get the delta 2 max plus 1 or 2 extra batteries (x2). or the new system coming in Feb. if you can’t handle heavy the weight. When you said at 7:41 on video about charge being lowered (left to right button) how do you check that it is working and what it does exactly do, I gather left equals lower charge rate, but where is that reflected on the app or unit ?
@HVACRSurvival
@HVACRSurvival 6 месяцев назад
Hard to decide not knowing how much that new system is going to cost. Looks like it’s better built for heavier loads and it depends on what kind of money you have to spend.
@jstratten5326
@jstratten5326 6 месяцев назад
@@HVACRSurvival At 7:41 on video if one pushes the practically hidden button that moves left to right under the charge flap, is the left a lower charge rate ?
@HVACRSurvival
@HVACRSurvival 5 месяцев назад
Correct one side is normal rate and the other side is what you pick it to be. You can set it up in the app to be whatever you want to be.

At minute 7 you mention 100W for car charging, then you've glossed over "if you're going in at 200W" - is that to say you can plug 2 separate cables into 2 separate of your van's charging ports simultaneously? Something to note, ports are rated for 500W each, so someone using panels to charge, then connecting them in serial can utilize a few large panels for a pretty nice recharge rate.

I'm looking for a solution for a 19.8cu ft chest freezer during blackouts. I don't have inrush compressor startup load but running is only 200-300 watts. Comes on about 2-4 times per day. Could this potentially run this for 24 hours without the extra battery? Thanks
@HVACRSurvival

Best thing to do is buy that meter I used to test the capacity of the battery. Then you’ll know exactly how much power you’ll need for each appliance. amzn.to/3tAxtZF

Absolutely it will work without the app. The app is just a convenient way to control and monitor the unit
@martinc.186

The AC converter on that thing draws 1/3 of the capacity and it doesnt charge more than 1300W. And it doesnt even show it you. I was considering it for powering my cottage but if you turn on the AC converter on a full charge, the time left immediatelly drops from 99+ hours to 65 hours. WITH NOTHING PLUGGED IN. I mean if you leave it at your cottage, you loose 0.8kWh just for the converter with no power draw, thats crazy. And you cannot see the power consuption of the station it self anywhere. You have to calculate it each time manually by using the time and capacity left... i mean wtf?

There is a company that just came out with a unit, however it's a solid-state unit. 100 times better and safer. Also the eco flow group I belong to on facebook when they do reach out to them on a bad unit, they want to swap it out with a rebuilt unit . I bought the smaller one to try it out, and decided to wait, and I am glad I did. Sold state is the way to go.

Yoshino? Idid the research as this is a big investment for me and safety concerns me for my elderly parents. Far shorter charge cycle life expectancy though. You're back to lithium ion technology kind of charge cycles for TWICE the money
