Thanks for the pretty good review of the Delta Max. I am liking it so much already.

I bought the exact same set up as you have, I live in Alberta Canada about three hours north of the US border. I tried setting up the solar panels for a few afternoons but I only got about 140 watts with 2 solar panels for just a very brief time. I bought it for off grid camping so I'm excited in seeing how it charges on our long summer days so I can make my cup of coffee without starting my generator early in the morning. My son also needs a c-pap machine so he can sleep through the night. I also had an electrician wire the furnace so if the power goes off we can keep heat in the house with this generator. I did a short test the furnace fan spikes are about 1000 watts and then settles down at just under 700 W while the fan is running. Great video by the way. Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks for the comment. I really like your idea of wiring the furnace. We have a new heat pump, so I suspect that may be a bit too much for what this unit's designed to do, though.

That power station really looks nice and pretty well built.

This is the solar generator that I need for my backup power source.

I unboxed my DeltaMax 2000 last night and plugged it in this morning, so this video is handy for my own learning curve! I bought a Max/Ecoflow Wave bundle … no solar, but I’m considering solar … BUT, I live in NW Montana. However, I have a reasonably clear southern facing spot. At any rate, the info on the impact of clouds and a wee bit of shade from bare trees was enlightening. Thanks for the video! FWIW, my unit was at 32% on unboxing and at 400 w charging (AC) it looks to be 3.5-4 hours total. Although my house has good grounded power, it is an older cabin-ranch and I am all electric so I think about what I’m drawing. Despite the location, power is underground to the highway and an new massive poles away from the road - in 16 years here less than a handful of times has power been out for more than .5 hour. BUT, changing weather, etc. and I have an RV so decided to go big :) With a wood stove, I am not that vulnerable winter, but summer: run the well pump, AC and frig for a long outage is desirable. At any rate, thanks for the video and solar info! Oh, I don’t know if the app was available when you bought, but I set up the phone app so have Bluetooth control of the unit.

Thanks for the comment! So glad the content was helpful. I've tried again and moved the panels around to a better spot in the yard and it charged MUCH better. I was honestly shocked how much impact just a little shade made on the output.

@@TXSuburbanHomestead I wonder if there is any kind of "solar meter" available. It would be nice to see what my average is in different spots. I know winter would be nearly impossible for solar because of low sun angle at 48 north, but summer is a different story ... I think. Oh, I did mean to mention ... the Max is 48 pounds. I am a 67 year old female person and though I think my functional strength is above average for age/sex and I am not a tiny person, the unit is not lightweight!! I unboxed and moved it without too much difficulty but I was careful how I moved :)

lots of good info here. These types of units are becoming very popular for camping and van conversions. At the present, I am converting a retired ambulance into a camping vehicle and will be putting solar on my roof to help charge the batteries. I would think that the main charging unit would be better of in the shade since those cooling fans are using power to keep itself cooled. Thanks for the video.

Happy to help. I did expect more from the shade, but it is winter and maybe I was expecting too much. During peak times it was producing 400-600W pretty consistently. I don't know how it'll differ not in winter months with more consistent direct sunlight.

I know it's a bit dangerous but you can make a wire male to male and disconnect a fuse in the group board so you can go from ecoflow to the socket on the wall and get power on the other sockets and lights on that group. Just remember to take the fuse out or turn it off and hang a note on it.

Would 175w Renogy Solar Panels work with this or are the amps too much?

Thank you so much for the comment! I'm sure you've noticed I haven't posted any recently. The toll of dealing with expert internet commentary started to wear on me. I do have plans, yes.

Why does it not turn off? Sounds like fan is running. I tried long press but maybe didn't press long enough. Suggestions?
@TXSuburbanHomestead
@TXSuburbanHomestead Год назад
It does have a cooling fan for sure. I'd contact Ecoflow. If mine took a bit to turn off, a long press always has worked.

Do u need extra adapters to connect all four panels or can u just used that one cable that goes I to the battery?
@TXSuburbanHomestead
@TXSuburbanHomestead 2 года назад
No, all the adapters you need come with it. The panels themselves have both positive and negative terminals, so it's very simple to connect them + to - in series.

Great question. If it has the right amps, the hookups should be the same. I'd imagine so, but I'd still reach out to the manufacturer.
