And the ECOnomy is how we interface/interact with nature to meet our needs and wants as people - individually and collectively. Although I am being somewhat looser than the strict definitions, the economy is therefore preceded by ECOlogy which is, in turn, preceded by ECOsystems/nature itself. Alas, in the nigh on 20 years of study and work in economics and financial services (sometimes working days and studying night), I did not hear/read about nature. Not even once. How to explain this? It is like 20 years in photography without a camera 😖. Yet my studies, and what I did *not* learn, tell me a great deal of today's world. I 'came out the end' of my studies and work and had to connect the economy to nature myself. Ever since then I have been on an uphill battle and, of course, I welcome help. In any case I liked this video. Brought clarity to what ecology is 😃.

I think the bees have more to teach us about exactly how ecology works from the micro to the macro than any other creature. 🐝

"Ecologists would then draw on many areas... to help solve this question". I wish this was reality and not just theory.... unfortunately, Monsanto pays too much money to many ecologists and their search for an answer morphs into "its the plants and animals that are from somewhere else that are the problem" (so Monsanto can make more money of the pesticides they make).
