Its not any one fault. The fault is in our mind we think when the car name is Ecosport it can run on any surface. The fact is auto industry creats hype and name the cars and advertise to sell them. The fact is look at the tyres they are not capable for high hilly terrains. They need different tyres the driver should know this before hand.
Several people have given their piece of mind here assuming several things like driver is foolish, etc. Let me present you the scenario before people judge the driver. I am the guy in yellow. I had driven my Tata Safari to Ladakh successfully in 2017. In this video of 2018, I drove my Fiat Punto to Himachal. Now as seen, I was driving with 4 other people with full luggage. At last moment, Punto showed 'Insufficient Engine Oil Pressure' and stalled. Thats why everyone had to get out. After everyone got off, I restarted the car and climbed the last climb pretty easily. So you should take this into consideration that we are at a high altitude place and cars tend to stall on higher gears and feel underpowered in lower gears. Now, first of all, the slope is not that gradual as it seems in the video. In actual, it is very steep. I went there in Nov 2019 with a rented bike and now the condition is so bad. I saw few cars damaging their exterior crossing this patch. Its that tough. So I thought of helping the guy. The car in this video is an Automatic Ford and the gear changed to 2nd gear when acceleration was pressed full on. So the traction was lost and car was stalling. As I had never driven an Ecosport and never an Automatic, that's why I gave up trying to help drive it. I didnt know that time that you can set Automatic to manual shift. If you see the video properly, you can see even the Alto and a Scorpio had stalled trying to cross the patch (HP numbers, HP drivers). Only the ones which had maintained speed were able to cross. Also, Alto is a light car and able to manage over bad surfaces due to compact dimensions. Additionally, the Ecosport was a Zoomcar which means it surely has a speed/power limiter. Also, the tires were worn out. Tires, the only contact surface with road, make a huge difference. Now I am not saying a driver's skill doesn't make a difference. It does. But it is not the only factor to be blamed. Again, some people have driven on those roads for 100 times. For some its first time. But that doesn't deny them a right to drive here. They will improvise their driving skills with time. Remember, you guys also drove on these kind of roads for 1st time in your lives. Koi maa ke pet se driving seekh ke nahi aya. Maybe after few years he will be as good as Pahadi drivers.
Tusi te chaa gaye paji👌😘...ekdum sahi bat..agr aisi jagah par normal city drivers jaenge nai to fir sikhenge kaise..fir thoda agr car ka nuksan ho to kya city me nai hota h na..bt ye sab lifetime experience h,nd finally darr ke aage jit h..waise sahi bola apne hilly drivers v chala kr hi sikhte h pehle se sikhe to nai hote den y dnt we can't do dt..bas thodi himmat confidence aur bas chalte chalte hilly regions me chalane ki techniques sikhte rehna h bas..mehnat krenge tabhi to fal v milega h na..
Sadly am the driver here. I have been driving in hill station for past 10 yrs, tat too in kerala. The logic here is very simple, THATS A ZOOM CAR. its not a eco sport we usually drive. Its freaking tunned. power and torque in tat car was like a maruthi celario. Who ever rented zoom cars will know what i ment to say. And thank you bud for ur kind words😊
If ur in yellow na who made this car stuck then nobody is worst driver then u u said koi maa k pet se sikh k nhi aata but dimag to lga skta ha ki nhi and itni badi story jo likh di uski jaroorat he nhi thi again ur showing ur dumbest thing to prove that ur right ur a dumb dumber dumbest driver who even don’t knw how to drive in this condition u just giving excuses like tyres blah blah have u seen that taxi who just honked u go n see his tyres n condition just use for brain 🧠 dnt keep it in pocket ✌🏻
bhai i am himachali and 25 years old i am driving in these kind of road since i was 18.. ecosport is the perfect mini suv for offroad... driver was an idiot firstly he applies break in the middle of the slit secondly he tries to change the gear in the middle.. he should be back and come with the constant speed on the 2nd gear and the car will falwlessly climb this patch...
Abhe saale local hai hum yaha ke sangla valley Kinnaur Himachal Pradesh suna hai??bc ye easy roads hai banda bhot ghtiya chala rha no doubt he got panicked
I think it's a learning curve for the driver. I hope he continues to drive and improves his driving skill. But thanks to the man who helped him. Good Job. :-)
I am an ecosport owner. I drive other brand cars since 10 years on similar road, but not faced this type of issues on mud road's..but ecosport does. I live in a remote village of western ghat in KA. My ecosport struggles a lot. I will post a comparison video of ecosport and swift soon on the similar terrain road.
Easy for you to say but it's not the driver....its the ecosport that sucks here. The open differential, FWD, poor traction control, poor engine power, poor tires, etc. All these things make the ecosport completely incapable.
Everyone here acting like they're seasoned off-roading high altitude terrain experts lol. Normal people like the guys who tried the EcoSport do not encounter terrain and slopes like this. Plus, the Ford EcoSport has balance issues and couple that with it being a FWD, its centre of gravity tends to slip back at inlcines. This effect is much more pronounced on bigger cars than the smaller ones like Alto that went by. Speaking of Alto and the other hatchbacks that easily made the climb, they were all cab drivers. They've probably been driving this terrain for decades if not more. They can even drive the road blind. So don't compare them with guys from places like Pune and Kerala who have little to no experience with roads like this. It's not just the EcoSport, but the Pinto and the Suzuki driver also got stuck at different points. So please stop acting like y'all are international rally car racing champions. Y'all are just a bunch of guys sitting on couches assuming you'll do better than them in that situation because you don't have to.
There were multiple ways to handle this situation. And the guys in the video tried not even ONE thing. Just revving it even when the tyre wasn't getting any traction.
Snow chains could work well too perhaps they have them.......people should carry snow chains and tow ropes when travelling in muddy or snowy terrain..... And the driver of the Ecosport isn't good at driving.....
Change the title- “ driver struggling during muddy patch while driving ecosport” . Driver should learn driving first before putting such idiotic video.
Ekdam chutiya driver hai ye...ye bewkuf logo ke vajase car badnam hote hai... Broad Tyre dala hai bol raha hai pagal... Itne dumb driving skill nahi dekhi
Ford Ecosport was sold in America. It was considered crap. When I lived in Brazil, it was also sold there. Although people liked it, it was known for being a "asphalt SUV", pretty much incapable of anything.
That bald guy who’s driving the ecosport is a complete L-board! I don’t know why they gave him the wheel, looks like he has no mountain/ghat driving experience, and why the hell are they saying off-road tyres chaiye, alto climbed up so smoothly, driving skills matter too. Anyways I just felt bad for that ecosport, they destroyed it!
car's fault. ecosport me tyre piche latkane ki wajah se front tyre pe weight km ho jata he. isi wjh se europe me jo ecosport milti he unme tyre piche ni dikki me hota he. but india me kl launch hua he ek varient jisme 1 tyre hi hata diya 😂 problem solved 👍😜
A close relative of mine rented a zoomcar in Hyderabad. They had a narrow escape when the wheel came off, luckily the speed was low at that time. They called the zoomcar office multiple times, who instead of sending a representative asked to get the car repaired themselves. They said it was hard to believe anything could go wrong with the car as it looked very new. Zoomcar deducted 2500 from their security deposit which they've no hope or motivation to get back.
Noob ecosport driver. Also all the people that are saying that its the car's problem, Yes the car is underpowered to go through the mud. But doesn't the driver have the common sense to go back and then come with momentum?
Did u cme to my house and see what i was yapping of? Idiot, u in your whole life would have not travelled or rented a zoom car. If u have driven a zoom car u would have known. Its not about eco sport, its about zoom cars ecosport.
Bhai isme biginner wali baat nhi. Jo video bna rha tha aur jo sab dekh rhe the. Sab noobs the. Kisiko kuch nhi pata tyre pressure ke baare me. Tyre ki hawa thodi nikal dete to ek baar me chad jati. Its BASIC!
Lack of experience. Another simple way to of tackling such situations for a FWD car is to climb in reverse. This loads the powered wheel and suspension reducing chances of tire slippage.
I have done, spiti circuit with ecosports (much more slush, and steeper incline).. It breezed through.. And driving skills makes a huge difference, i guess
With my experience in driving in Himachal I can say there's a combination of things which could have made things easier. 1) Clutch play could have been better 2) Better tyre 3) 4x4 (could be expensive but easiest option and more fun) 4) If nothings works then spread your rubber foot mats on road, next to the playing tyre. Tyre fill find some traction Hopefully, the journey was pleasant.
@@gavin9715 Noob ecosport driver. Also all the people that are saying that its the car's problem, Yes the car is underpowered to go through the mud. But doesn't the driver have the common sense to go back and then come with momentum?
Okay fanboys.. First things first those are stock tires made for the road and not mud.. Second thing it's a front wheel drive so it will surely struggle...stop complaining about his driving skills ( his driving skills were kinda bad ngl )

hahahaha so true man.. plus this ecosport was top variant with low profile tyre - which is a big No for hilly areas. People who rent out often leave these little details.. also it was pretty evident he was a beginner sort of - gaadi hi band hue ja ri thi uski.. LOL
It's almost 6 years old video, but just wanted to know which tyres are there? I believe type of tyres and grips are more important for such kind of roads. Micheline has better grip and performance over the wet roads and muds too.

For those experienced thugs in this comments, Don't forget that you were also a L board once. :D :D. I appreciate the people helping him to get over the mud and people who has appreciated his effort in the comments. That is Humanity.. Don't forget that every expert was a learner once.
One more reason i think this specific ecosport was struggling is that it is "zoom car" which is fitted with a speed governor and i.e why the full throttle is not applicable even in first gear .
what the hell he did with this superb ecosport....is he insane or what even alto drove easily 😂😂😂 zoomcar please ensured the driving skills of a driver before giving them sexy machines
Problem here with Terrain, Tyres, Tyre Pressure, And most Importantly the Person behind wheels. Don't blame EcoSports. Rear Drive Wheels in better situation than Front Drive wheels.
@@kanishk.0204 actually no.in rwd there is now weight at rear wheels. Hence they lose traction. But in fwd cars there is engine at front so it will have more traction in such situations.
Plz Suggest me Which is best Color of Ford Ecosport in between white, Red & Blue ? I Confused to select anyone from there three i.e white, Red & Blue. Plz suggest me better one which is not fade it's colour and looks Good..
It's all about drivers skill and experience. Let's not blame the car. Had this been an automatic transmission varient the problem would never have occurred and the car would have sailed smoothly. This is my experience.
@@phuntsokangrup3871 sure.. first thing - it's a FWD (front wheel drive) which is not ideal when going in hilly areas specially muddy hill areas.. Second thing - those were stock tires which were already flat without groves Third thing - it's a very heavy car making the situation even worse Fourth thing (contributing factor) - his diving skills (which weren't too good)
Front wheel drive should have better traction because engine and gearbox are mounted on front wheels only. I have seen people loading sand bags in Maruti vans to get better traction on rear wheels. This is never required in Maruti 800 FWD.
@@phuntsokangrup3871 nah man.. what ur saying is absolutely right when the road is not slippery..just think about it..it's it's heavy it'll be very difficult to climb over curbs or dents But 4 wheel drive is always the best for ofroaring The Maruti was able to go so easy was cuz it was light and it dint stop in between

At 2:55 He braked at the last minute and lost precious momentum, lost grip and got stuck, the experienced Alto taxi driver powered through (which is what you're supposed to do). The only option is to slowly back down (with as much assistance as possible) with reverse gear engaged, no throttle, slight braking and clutch modulation till you reach a flat area to start over. This time, no braking uphill.lol..
Here is what I learned from this. For the car to move, the wheel has to get good traction. Once you spin your wheels standing at a spot like that, your tyre has cleared the earth from beneath, so there is no traction left. Reducing the weight of the car on the back was a good idea, but doing the same at the front makes for even less traction so make sure you have a co-passenger. At the end of that slush patch, you will need traction on the read wheel and passengers in the backseat is a must there too. The terrain was pretty uneven so your car isn't exactly feeling the same on all four. The key in these roads, is not speed. It is a mix of torque, patience and balance. If you see the car at 11:46, there is something to learn there. Even if it is a rear-wheel drive, that is how you get through slush. Not by trying to slide over it because that momentum is not going to carry. You need to get your torque on and off, and hold ground. See 12:13 for another example of an expert driver. If this guy was trying to drive straight into the good patch of road like the ecosport, he would have failed too and ended up digging holes. Find a patch with good traction for at least one wheel, do not stand at a spot and do a burnout, and try to steer left and right a little if you feel your tyre is starting to get stuck. If even the steering motion doesn't work, then you need offroading tyres. This patch of road doesn't need offroading tyres. It needs a calm and calculative driver.
Car and tyre shouldn’t be blamed. Its the lack of driving skills in the hills with off road conditions. Nobody is understanding that ecosport has stiff suspension so one side of the tires are in the air on uneven surface so all the power goes to one of the front tires that is in the air or with lesser traction. Even AWD is not a solution here with no driving skills. Alto’s suspensions have more travel so they get more grip. Stiff suspension and differentials are coming to play here, hence 4x4 with diff lock or limited slip diff is the best for off roads. AWD is for tarmac.
